Yeah it may seem like I'm brown nosing---but I'm not.
My friend that helped me come to Vegas was very shy-so was I! I had no idea how shy I was gonna be!
I also had some issues going on while I was there that had me in a lot of pain so? I didn't get to get out much.
But meeting messmaster for the first time literally---was the highlight of my trip.
After years of back and forth, me having to fight getting flagged, the whole Ariel thing, and lots of shitI remember saying to Derek "if I could just talk to you face to face I think you would really GET me"
Well? I got to. Derek is one of a kind! He's real, he's fun, I have zero clue how he kept it up! He runs this place with style and grace and still is humble, hilarious and super fun to be around. He also CARES. He cares about all of us!
I was truly almost in tears with how genuine and sweet he actually is. You can hear it and see it.
I'm SO glad that even with me staying in and getting messy with my friend---I got to meet him.
I got to meet a lot of others that I came back and was just in shock at how great this community really is!
I promise to always do my best to make you all happy. I had a certain someone GIFT ME instant mud!!! I couldn't believe it!
Anyhoo- this is about our "messmaster" Derek. The man of the year.
I cannot wait to go back and this time? I'll be staying in the same place as y'all

Jayce, after everything you've been through, getting to meet MM was really special! MM does a lot for us here on the UMD. I'm glad you got to go to Vegas! Hopefully, one day, I'll go too!

Everybody she is not lying about that. In real life she's just like she is here, only... really chill actually. I absorb the energy of people around me, and what I felt from you was a certain sweetness and humility that I "get" now. You've always had a bubbly online presence, but IRL it's so clear that it comes from a place of realness and humbleness.

Damn Jayce we did it! We finally met. I do wish we could have hung out more, and I even told a few people all week that I didn't think I was going to get to meet you. But when we finally got a moment to break away and just sit and really meet, it was crazy surreal... and a defining end to the whole trip for me.

We've been through so much since those first days of WamBabes, and we've argued plenty, but not ONCE did it ever get nasty or disrespectful. Even after all the haters and conflicts over years, I don't think you've ever been accused of being mean or immoral or anything like that, and after only a few minutes of meeting the human behind the profile, I understand why. You've always been good people Jayce and I'm honored to have finally met you. [lump in throat]

I'm still processing all that went on and everybody that Messmistress and I got to meet... we're even still getting choked up at times and can't sleep, reliving all the conversations LOL. I want to make a thank-you post, but you know me, I need a little time. Love you everybody

I wanted to get back out but after all those shots? Lol! My roomie was PASSED TF out! I woke him up around 10 like "hey you wanna get food?" And then? Ooooo boiiii. My food was amazing but it TORE ME UP! Hahahhaa! I was in agony!---but it was sooooo good!
There is only one thing left to do.make an east coast meet up!

Yeah, an East coast USA meetup would be great for us! Honestly I think future meets would better be planned by a committee, and I think there is a lot of interest in turning this into an actual convention. We'll see what happens!

I won't lie, I'd love to meet Jayce too one day. I'd feel very shy at first I'll admit it. But I think it'd be an excellent time overall!

Just want to say, meeting so many wonderful and amazing people, including MM, was a huge part of what made UMD20 such a wonderful experience back in 2018. Really hope to get to another meet up at some point, though the stars were wrong for this year.

But I second everything Jayce says above. MM's stellar attituide to community building is the reason this community is still going when so many others fell by the wayside. It's an absolute privilege to be part of it.

You're too sweet! Honestly I ask myself the same thing often and he'll confirm it! We keep each other grounded, but don't let me fool you; sometimes I can be just as crazy!

Out of everybody I met between Thursday and Sundays meeting Derek was the biggest highlight and no doubt one of a kind, after all he started what is the first and the only site to this very day of it's own kind (as far as I know)

We all owe Derek our gratitude for bringing us all together here, discussions with him on here in the past helped me decided to say fuck it it's time to advance onto the in person stage and I'm sure as hell glad I did.

Meanwhile Jayce, thank you for helping me out with the bag and ordering the Uber ride I needed (being I couldn't recover my old account w/ them plus overloaded with all my crap along with the gimp left wrist)

I just love reading all the positive vibes going on in this thread. Hopefully The Wife and myself will be in a better place next year to have the finances and logistics for the next time this happens. We were both bummed about not being able to go, because WOW I feel like we missed out!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting them at the Philadelphia meet-up a few years back. Everything you say is the truth. wonderful people. I wanted to go to vegas so bad. truth is, I just couldn't bring myself to buy the ticket. the only person I've told this so far has been Jayce, but the reason I've been fairly absent from this site for the last year or so is that I got married in August of 2021 to my high school crush that i was lucky enough to reconnect with later in life. sadly, she fell ill in April of 2022. she spent a few weeks in the hospital, came home, got worse....and exactly one year ago today she went back to the hospital to never return home. she fought a good fight, but left this world back in january of this year. shortly after, i lost my best friend of 30 years to cancer. at this point i'm using this interest that we all share as an outlet. shooting new videos, being more engaged. it helps keep my mind off of things. i very much plan on attending any furture meet-ups if it's at all possible. I'm glad you got to go, Jayce. I'm sorry I didn't make it. i hope to catch you next time.

I would absolutely be down for this! Wish Vegas could have been a thing on my end, even if I was able to find someone to watch my mini-mes I've been dealing with an FAA audit (on a telecon about it right now, even!) last week and this week.

Anyway it would be cool being able to actually see some of the people behind this site that I stumbled upon in '98 someday!

It was fascinating talking to you and hearing about all the experiences you've gone through (really tough but fascinating ones). What especially stuck was what you told me about how difficult it was to do something like this, which is breaking a lot of barriers and coming out of your comfort zone. I'm that much more honored that you trusted us enough to come see us and I hope you weren't disappointed! And I think you seem to have a sort of psychic ability? Not messing with you! It was an honor having you there brother.

I second this motion, Wambassador also pitched the idea of an eclipse meet for next year near Dallas TX and that one is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I have already have plans set with entirely different group but I can break off some depending on distance.

I've tried, and met exactly one person. Two others ghosted the actual day of while a third is honest about being too shy. Being in an area that seems pretty far from all of who I would call the big names and mid-tier players in terms of producers and forum activity doesn't help. I'd be a lot more comfortable meeting IRL some of them because they have an established history and reputation but wouldn't limit people I would see to only them of course.
