So? I get my hair done once in a while and I have ALWAYS wanted to be platinum blonde. Just to TRY it. My stylist told me with my job and my hair? That making it that color? I would end up losing my hair. It would break off quickly and I would have to go short. So? That's a no go. She suggested getting a really nice wig. I was like "ewww no!" But then? She showed me these wigs that are SO NICE. (Like low end these babies are like 2,500..LOW END.) but? It's fun to be able to put something on and it looks natural and change your whole look! I can't afford something THAT fancy but I considered having one made for me so I could be blonde if I wanted to, that day! What do you all think about wigs? If they look good and fit well? Is that a turn off for you? Do you like the familiar look or is it fun to see someone look totally different? Just asking from a "model" stand point. I'm not really a "model" but I DO "model" mess! Any thoughts? I'd love to hear!
I like the idea of wigs! Especially some of the anime wigs. I know what goes into the process of making the wigs and some of the costs and that adds to the enjoyment for me. Yes I like the messy aspect of it. But there is something about the cost of the items that plays in as well. The clothing and the wigs. Not necessarily electronic things, not sure why but they do not do anything for me. I would LOVE to see some shots of different wigs you are testing.
I love the idea of wigs. It's always so fun to change up a look. Some cheap ones on Amazon can often work perfectly for a few uses. I've definitely thrashed and ruined some wigs with mess, but that's just the occupational hazard of it.
Not sure why, but I just envisioned you wearing a blonde wig and dressing as Alice from Alice in Wonderland getting completely messy in a ton of sweet desserts. Now THAT would be fantastic, and I'd be willing to fund it!
I like wigs myself, as long as they are reasonably good quality wigs (and I've seen some $60-$80 wigs that would qualify for that, at least for my tastes.) I love the way wigs allow a model to drastically change up her look easily and frequently. And Jayce, I gotta say I think you'd really rock a wig in the short bob hairstyle!

Like the tea party gone wrong?
If a wig is done well, you shouldn't be able to tell its a wig. Its just another hairstyle or even another person for that model. Or it can be done well for comic effect. ("Don't I look good as a blonde?" (splat)
I don't really mind them in general, or even in non-WAM videos, but I'm not a fan of them in WAM videos. I'm a hair guy, so I much rather see a model's real hair get messy.
I do make an exception for an occasional clown wig. There's a great video from Messygirl that involve Amy getting her face painted, her head "shaved" (bald cap), and a clown wig put on her head before she gets covered in slime. Other than that rare instance though, I'm not a fan of wigs.

I actually wanted to ALSO get a "longer" bob wig bc I like that bob cut look! That is the hair style I had when I started wamming! It was right at my shoulder blades. But I have seen some really nice ones that are lace and whatnot. I think it's fun to find something that looks natural and you can be someone else for a day! Or? Me just be me but I'm blonde! Or I have a shorter haircut! I like the idea of a wig gone wrong too! Haha! I can deffo find some shitty ones. They have a shop here in my town.I wanna go see if they will let me try some on! I think it is fun-or seems fun-to like? Have me in a totally different messy "role" (dom, sub, whatever ) and to add in the fun of my hair being different. The carpet would NOT match the drapes! maybe I could bleach my pubes. Hahahhahahahaha
I like wigs in bold and colorful styles, but that comes with being a clown. For wam, a wig is perfectly fine for a pie shoot, but not a gunge shoot. It's a bit like pouring slime onto a hat instead of directly on your head.
It somehow feels preferable to witness a full head-shaving prior to a barrage of pies, rather than the same amount be thrown at someone in a wig just for the artifice of the spectacle.
I am unsure what this illuminates about my own particular tastes & proclivities.
I dunno wigs can be a nice alternative to someone with little to no hair, but from a WAM stand point, when I know it's a wig, it turns me off of the scene a bit. I guess with a high end wig you might not be able to tell and it'd be okay, but who is gonna spend that kind of money on a wig to trash it haha. I love vivid hair colors like blue and purple and bright red though...
I'm ok with them so long as they're better than the generic Halloween store, $15 kind that look faker than fake. I keep several good ones in stock for times when I'm trying something new and am not totally sure how it's going to work out.
Chalk that up to mixing a big bag of flour with water and dumping out the bucket on myself back in college. It was a great big disaster and nearly took me out of this entirely!

Wigs can work IF they are well done (look right for a character) or if they are colorful or wild. Like things you wouldn't normally have like a rainbow afro's, liberty spikes, electric blue bobs, etc.
