protostar8 said: I'll be honest, it's kind of rude to her fans to just close up with zero notice. It's definitely not a behavior that other producers need to mimic. After seeing stuff by Jayce we can assume she's alright. So just doing this out of the blue seems really wacky and poorly done. As long as she has been around she should have given everyone a proper "closing down" time period.
tl;dr please don't take this as me shitting on your or your opinion it's not meant that way, just to keep things from flaming out into a "this isn't fair" thread.
- - - - - -
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but without knowing the reasons for such a fast departure (which could be many), one could also counter and say that your take is rude.
For instance, we've all heard stories about adult working being used against someone for numerous reasons; many not very noble. There are a ton of legit reasons for someone to close up shop with no warning. She might not even be in a position to talk about it now. Also keep in mind, she's a mom first.
We see businesses close with little to no warning all the time, I don't see how this is any different. This is hardly the first time a producer has closed up shop without a word. In fact, people come and go here all the time, with little to no warning. And usually when someone does announce their leaving they get shit for it (sometimes deserved, and other times not so much).
If Ariel can do this quickly and Jayce can't even tell us why, then she sure as shit doesn't owe US any explanation or reasoning. I know that sounds harsh, but if you really think about it, we're not her loved ones, we're her customers and this is a public forum.
Yeah, it's sad, it's frustrating. But that's life. I'm just glad that Jayce told us what she did. Maybe Ariel will come back and tell us, maybe she won't. But I can't in good conscience give her shit about her decision, especially after 2 decades of some of the best and most memorable content ever made.
Nah, I'd rather have a drink to her, remember her fondly, and wish her well in whatever she's facing in life. She deserves that.
Here's to Miss Ariel
You're entitle to your opinion. I'm entitled to mine. No reason to have even quoted mine honestly. You should have just given your own take on it.
To say she owes us nothing is all about perspective. She was a big shot on the UMD. So I'm sure she made more than her fair share of money. Yeah, it's a business but a business with many fostered relationships with customers, forum members, etc. I don't care too much. I was never her biggest fan though I did like some of her work, especially her earlier stuffs back when she ran a member's site. But she's cutting off all those relationships with zero word and that's crappy. Even making a dummy account and posting a very short, undetailed reason would have been better than just closing shop with zero warning. As long as she had been around I'm sure people would have loved to buy her stuff for a final week. There are graceful ways to exit and ways that leave people shaking their heads. It's not like her material isn't out there in the ether. If you google her she probably pops up so any school / job could find her I'm sure. Again, we have no clue though b/c she chose to do things the way she did. It may have seemed like the right move for her and maybe it was, but it doesn't make it a nice move.
Wow really dude..... If you had a custom fall through which I kind of doubt happened, or a sale backed out of again, doubtful you have a right to be a shit head about this. But if you are just a fan being selfish because you didn't get told the stores were closing and you didn't get a chance to be noticed in a goodbye thread. That is a pretty shit opinion to have. She left and is gone. Sometimes leaving is hard. It is like Gibbs said on NCIS, if you are walking away don't look back. That is exactly the way to do it. If you look back you might not go through with the choice you made. As has been pointed out she has been backing away for some time. Maybe she has been trying to close the stores and stuff for some time but keeps delaying. Where it is hard enough to do when others don't know, so to make it easier and stick you have to just close the doors and walk away. Like peeling off a band aid. We are fans. Some of us on a personal level some of us just fans. There is nothing owed. I mean there has been talk in this thread about how judgemental things are on the outside world. take a look in here. I have been part of it at times judging people when I have no right to. There are people that have left this industry suddenly with no reason and then later when the reason is discovered. If it does not seem acceptable to people it is shit on. People mock it and go to town with it. Fans can really turn against models here pretty fast. For all we know, Ariel read those comments and was well aware of how some people are treated. One of those things was the reason she was making the choice she was and did not want to deal with a thread of people mocking her choice. So to save the reaction she just walked away. Whatever the reasons she has earned her retirement from the industry. I hope she has a rocking chair and drinks lemonade all day. Then when Jayce feels it is time she has a rocking chair and joins her.
Before this spirals out of control, please consider: None of us have any idea at all why Wambabes has so suddenly shut down. Worst case scenario - Ariel and her entire family got wiped out in an auto-wreck on the freeway. All of a sudden friends or family, in deep mourning, are having to deal with everything including her businesses. Now I hope to all the powers that nothing that bad has happened. But it would be one situation in which shuttering everything immediately would be a reasonable option.
As dalamar666 and Potatoman-J have said, she owes us nothing. She gave us over 20 years of amazing material - hell, even I bought some of her scenes and I'm possibly one of the fussiest customers here.
Hopefully she's fine and happy and getting started on the next stage of her life. But none of us know, so we should simply accept that there's a reason for what's happened, even if we don't know what it is, and remember and enjoy the legacy she left all of us who bought her scenes.
Potatoman-J said: Here's to Miss Ariel
I'll drink to that.
And in closing, as I said on the first page of this thread:
If you like something, buy it now. - not next week. - not after the car's paid for. - not at some vague point in the future. - Now.
Because you never know when any model, or entrire store, is going to vanish with no warning.
Setting a closing date for a store provokes a mad rush for content and that is not good if you are closing your store because you no longer want your content online. Sudden closure is ok.
For me, the only downside to someone pulling their profile with no notice is you don't get the chance to say thanks, and show how much their hard work has meant to people, although I guess Ariel is fully aware of how loved she was, and was responsible for making many people realise they weren't alone in the fetish.
I don't know why, but the more of this I read (in this thread and Jayce's other thread), the more I think this has all the markings of a hardcore religious conversion. Either that, or she is head over heels stupid in love with someone who wants all her stuff off the internet yesterday
I don't want to speculate, but the suddenness of the whole thing makes me think it's related to a new job or something legal/involving social services where having something like this even in the background could be a massive problem.
Agreed. That's what I guessed originally as well. Job/career related, or something to do with social services (child protection agencies, etc). Possibly ex-husband related, etc.
The thing that struck me the most was Jayce saying that Ariel had blocked her, indicating that there was a deliberate termination of contact between the two. That led me to believe it was something more extreme.
I don't know that there's any harm in speculation. I rather enjoy trying to solve a mystery, and I'm certainly not posting my opinion as fact, or even as rumor. Just my guess in order to try to make sense of it all.

Wow! If Ariel is finished, that's pretty serious stuff. She's just simply been part of my WAM world almost since I first got on the Internet. Can't believe it.

True, and one of the reasons I've always been liberal with promo stills is because I vividly remember when I couldn't afford to buy anything and had to make do with a collection of producer freebies. Those days are long past but you remember your experiences. However, from those times, I also remember being in a record shop (that dates it a bit!) with a colleague, and there was an Iron Maiden album I wanted to buy, but the CD was £12 and I was trying to save every penny, so after reading the track list I put it back. He picked it up, handed it to me, and more or less told me to buy it. I did and still have it, and spending that £12 on a luxury didn't bring the sky crashing down. Now obviously no-one should spend their last fiver that they need for food on WAM videos, or spend hundreds they can't afford, but often times we all tend to think "Oh, I'll buy that one scene I really like the look of next month when X is paid off", except by next month there's something else that seems more pressing so the purchase is put off again. I've done that loads of times, and I'm sure many of us have. And then a store abruptly closes, and that scene we never quite got round to buying is gone forever. So sometimes it is worth just getting that one luxury we really want, and keepinfg it safe.

That's important to remember as well as appreciate

I was expecting you to say he bought the CD for you.
Ariel did excellent on the customs that she, Jayce, and the others did! On December of 2020, I sent her $150 to do a custom with her and Jewel to do a wet look custom, that never happened, so my money went down the tubes. I wish her well onto her new life.
More and more I keep hearing about and seeing just how badly she fucked people over. I can't guarantee anything, but maybe see if Messmaster can provide you with any pointers in taking her to small claims court depending on the situation and what kind of contracts you have.
Ariel left suddenly, and it looks like a lot of people got screwed according to the other posts.
But... that's not all. If you've been to Jayce's store you will see a TON of videos missing. I'm sure Jayce has been badly affected by this. I subscribed to her Onlyfans recently to show some support.
Potatoman-J said: More and more I keep hearing about and seeing just how badly she fucked people over. I can't guarantee anything, but maybe see if Messmaster can provide you with any pointers in taking her to small claims court depending on the situation and what kind of contracts you have.
That is if you have her full legal entity to track her down. "Ariel" was an alias and not her real name. A payment provider she used does show her full legal name in the transaction details though.
I wouldn't hold your breath. Was her profile actually deleted previously?
This whole situation is so sad. Reminds me of movies in which you love a character so much but then find out the twist at the end....the character you loved was the villain all along! I hope all that lost money get some sort of justice.
MikeyABQ said: The sad thing is how the owners and mods and some other long time fans reacted. In general: leave Ariel alone, she is a legend, don't ask questions
I don't think any of us said anything like that. Nobody had cut off communication from her or prevented questions from being asked. There were a lot of assumptions being thrown around when nobody actually knew anything, so some would assume the worst, and some fans would be defensive. All we did at the site was remove content at her request. I'm always available if anybody has issues to be resolved.

When so many people say they were scammed this is unacceptable. UMD owners, mods and some users like Jayce, MUST know here legal name and are basically protecting a scammer cause she was well known here.
No troubles, legal, work related or any other are valid reasons for scamming people. A serious illness or death would be, but in that case customers should be informed, and as she logs in here from time to time, this is not the case.
So I'm very disappointed that UMD owners and mods are protecting a scammer, instead of taking care of their 6+ scammed site customers, while they should be reporting the scam to the police on behalf of customers.
I'm not entirely sure what you want here, even if we wanted to dox here, there isn't much info we can give. She may have an extremely common name, and she's changed her address and phone numbers as Jayce can attest. I don't know what damning info people thing MM is holding back.
I'd love to see those financially affected reimbursed (especially if this supposed sugar daddy is a millionaire) but I don't know where you're going to get information that would help you in small claims court, or that the costs associated with such a battle would even break even in what could be returned in damages.
Also, cops are fucking lazy. Do you really think they're going to pursue a case for a few guys who got scammed by a sex worker? Cops work for the state, they don't give shit about you.
But even IF someone were to post her personal info here, there's the legal liability that could ensue from it. Oh hey she's Minnie Mouse at 123 ABC St. East Bumblefuck IN, 13345. Then something happens to her or her family and NOW the cops are involved, but it's not to get anyone's money back.
UMD cannot responsible for people's customs business interactions. I don't know how many times that's been said over the years. Ariel fucked over a lot of people, it's not like she can come back and be welcomed with open arms.
Potatoman said: "Also, cops are fucking lazy. Do you really think they're going to pursue a case for a few guys who got scammed by a sex worker? Cops work for the state, they don't give shit about you."
Ummmmm.no. Factually speaking, detectives everywhere are quite busy. Beyond that, the amount of money lost by most of these people in the majority of states equates to a misdemeanor theft of service. So even IF the person went to the police and cooperated sufficiently to get a judge to sign a warrant for her arrest, she would not be extradited out of state. (Again because in most cases, it's a misdemeanor.)
And I'm sure all of these victims will happily go in and sign sworn affidavits regarding the fact that they got bilked out of money for a fetish video, right?
Your comment was poorly informed. Now you have actual information to comment with.
Filbert you think you are informed.... LOL That is laughable. Do you have any idea how many people are scammed by people locally in a given week? Do you really think a federal investigation will be started for someone that stole under 100k from a bunch of people online??? Because when you are dealing with crimes that cross state lines it becomes federal. While police departments communicate it is not the greatest. I had my vehicle broken into and my insurance information and other papers were stolen and some money. I filed a police report. I asked the officers about taking finger prints as I had not touched anything when I realized the vehicle had been broken in to. They told me that 1. they do not take finger prints for things like this. 2. That if they did take finger prints there is no guarantee it would lead to anything. So yes the police are absolutely fucking lazy. Also, you mention a judge signing an extradition order to other states for under 1k.... You really are showing your ignorance about how the law works. You are speaking from a place of emotion instead of logic or a place of ignorance. Either way, the most anyone can hope for is for them to contact MM and for him to give the information that he has on file for Ariel and then filing a police report for theft in you state. Which in all honesty will go no where. I used to work as a cab driver. I had people steal service from me frequently. I filed police reports for theft. You know how many actually paid me back or how much restitution I saw? 0. The best you can do is get the most information you can on the internet. Track her down and try to get your money back that way. Although that is a long shot. Lick your wounds and move on.

I'll admit that was initially my attitude - but at that point I didn't know she'd scammed anyone for customs, I thought people were just angry she'd closed her stores without any warning, so they'd missed out on being able to make final purchases.
MikeyABQ said: When so many people say they were scammed this is unacceptable. UMD owners, mods and some users like Jayce, MUST know here legal name and are basically protecting a scammer cause she was well known here.
Very important note: The moderators do NOT have any access to that kind of information, for any UMD users. And we don't have any access to deleted accounts. The "ariel" account currently shows "This user doesn't exist." And that's the same regardless of whether I've got Admin mode turned on or not. Only MM has access to the ID data, and I would imagine the US has fairly strict laws governing when, and to whom, such information can be revealed. Here in the UK, GDRP would apply, which is *very* strict with enormous penalties for breaches, that doesn't apply in the US but I'm sure they'll have something along the same lines, at the very least I'd expect a lawyer would need to be involved.

No-one is protecting a scammer. If you have any issues with outstanding customs, and have documentation (emails, contract, that kind of thing) then contact MM and if he can assist within the law I'm sure he will. But be aware the UMD isn't a party to a custom deal, that's between the buyer and producer, and ultimately the only way to pursue it will be to take legal action against the producer. And in most cases, people aren't going to raise court action and sign affidavits over a custom fetish scene, because doing so creates public records.
It is deeply shitty that Ariel appears to have scammed multiple customers, how to completely trash her own legacy. I guess the only way to completely avoid that risk is never commission a custom, just buy ready made scenes, where the deal is between you and UMD (or Vidown or whoever) and you'll definitely get what you paid for. Regarding Wambabes, it's a sad end for what was a hugely respected WAM business.

Did you even read what I posted? Clearly not, because that was the point I was making.that they would NOT extradite, even if there was a report filed or IF a judge were to sign a warrant.
And I assure you, I am not speaking from emotion, although it is painfully obvious that you are. I've never been ripped off my a model or by a producer. I have no dog in this fight. But what I do have is 30 plus years of law enforcement experience at the state and federal level, which was why I was explaining that approaching it from a criminal standpoint was NOT going to get results. I'd say I'm quite well informed, thank you very much.
For example, given my actual real work experience, I can tell you that just because something crosses state lines, does not automatically make something a federal casenor does it mean the feds are going to pick up the case, even if it technically would fall under their jurisdiction.
But, I'm sure your believe otherwise, because you've watched plenty of television, so that makes you a subject matter expert.
You need to calm down and read what is being said next time before you go off on a tirade.

i just want to go on the record of saying this and only this on HERE. ill tell you whatever you want to know on only fans....about what happened....BUT I WILL NOT SHARE HER REAL NAME. Just like the money she took for customs with me ( I was not aware she took them...I had zero idea...) that now im literally being STALKED and HARASSED about? I dont know a thing about it.... I have zero clue about private sessions she took money for.... If you did not email via jaycelane0611@gmail.com or pay ME? I do not have your money.
ariel and I had a shared store. Which meant that we both could put videos into it. that was drenchme.com, other than that? We did not share a thing. WE didnt share emails, only fans, any of our messy stores, NOTHING. We did everything separate and boy oh boy is her leaving ....leaving ME finding out soooooo much dirt....so much more that was done to me over the years. God.....its like a nightmare I cannot wake up from.
I get a message from mm to take down everything. EVERYTHING. productions i poured my heart and money into. things I had never done. Things I was PROUD OF. work that she BEGGED FOR. my stores, completely FUCKED. videos I had not even released yet? not able to be released.
I am still sitting here looking at videos she had mm take down THAT SHE IS NOT EVEN IN THEM!
We had a contract we made together. She did not stick to that so I understand Im sorry it happened to you.
for me to hand out her real name? . I am not protecting her. ho ho ho ho ho.....believe me. I am NOT protecting her. That is just NOT my place, at all.
Im STILL dealing with this, literally, almost every single day. Imagine you having a clothing store....and its all you have left. You cant afford to stock anymore but you stocked nice and high....you had enough to keep you going a while, right? you put all you had into those pieces. then someone comes in and takes a fucking shredder to about 40 percent of that. the insurance company decides to not cover you. Thats what ive gone through.
i WILL NOT share why she did what she did HERE bc this is my place of business and my place of fun i love it here. anything I say could possibly break me and these stores are LITERALLY ALL I HAVE. So? For the sake of me being able to still be here? I am staying quiet besides what I said above.
which is: Im sorry she did that to you...she did it to me too (on a GRAND SCALE).....but I cannot, and it is not my responsibility nor is it legal, I dont think....to give out someones real name. I wouldnt do that for the safety of her children, who I love dearly. No, it is not fair. That is literally all I will ever say about that here.....ever again.
I dont know what the mods could do.....I have no idea and im not going to say anything towards them. This was a shit show for them to deal with as well. Especially mm. Im really sorry that happened to you. TRULY. She's gone. She blocked me and I havent spoken to her at all.
I also want to thank MM and all of you who have supported me during this time. it has and continues to be a fucking shit storm. Hopefully, one day, I will be able to see some light from it which to me? Would be karma working in some form or fashion....which it usually does. : ) thank you, universe.
thank you all on the umd for being so uplifting, encouraging and all of you producers who have made me feel like a rock star.
