1. Log in to Live 2. Click the gear in the upper right corner 3. Select "Options" 4. Under "Preventing Junk E-Mail," select "Safe and Blocked Senders" 5. Click "Safe Senders" 6. Add "@umd.net" to the list 7. Request a password reset e-mail again. It should go through this time.
Cheers. Couldn't work out why the emails weren't coming through.
I wonder if it might be worth messmaster (or whichever admin deals with such things) getting another domain for the purpose of UMD e-mails given that seemingly an increasing number of e-mail providers have decided in their infinite wisdom to blacklist umd.net emails.
Sounds like messmaster has got his work cut out at the moment, at some point he'll fall asleep on his keyboard and everyone will panic that the world is about to end.

Thanks for posting this bit of help. It would be a good idea for me to post a notice on the Login page and Lost Password page to add us to your white lists. I didn't think of that and it could help a lot of people going forward. A year of Premium to you good sir!
Thanks for the security consciousness. I also had to go through the password resent feature since the electronic gods hated the email method. But it did work.

Thank you so much! Never, ever, would have thought of that!
Guys, I won't lie... this was majorly frustrating.
The information provided above about unblocking the domain in email settings etc should have been provided prior to the passwords being reset with no notice... just let us know in advance in future please
Although that said, thanks for the safety concerns

I wish I could have let you know in advance that there was going to be a phishing attempt and that I'd have to update your passwords. Soon as it happened I created this thread and sent out the e-mails. I'm always monitoring us for being blocked by 3rd party filtering services (which we are pretty good there), but I didn't know that we were also being blocked on an internal level by several major providers. I've been researching that ever since and trying to make sure we stay off of them. As I said before I'm going to post hints to make sure our domain is white-listed on personal e-mail account.

At least we all know how to get round this now. Thank God we had access to the message threads otherwise there would be a lot of new sign ups! thanks what_is_clocks - not just a slimey face
I have been unable to access my account for several days now and have had to resort to creating this new one just to post on this forum to see if anything can be done to regain access into my main account 'jg22'. I have tried the password reset several times along with emailing yourself but I am yet to receive a reply on how or if I will be able to log into my account again. If there is anyway you can help please just message me on this account.

I'm answering all queries pretty much within 12 hours of when they come in. I didn't see anything from you, but I'll send a new password to that account. I just switched our email sending mechanism so that emails will hopefully get through to everyone better, and you will get this pass in a few seconds. If not, please hit me up through the Contact Us page.
A note to those who still can't get in, I am getting your emails and responding to them. Comcast, hotmail, and other providers are blocking us for a lot of people, and you're not getting the new passwords I'm emailing you, or from the automated password reset. I'm still investigating why and trying to get unblocked. Meanwhile please make sure we're not caught up in any of your personal spam filters. Thanks for bearing with me on this, and hopefully you'll get one of my replies!

Stay messy, my friends

Thank you!
I didn't think UMD.net was blocked for me because I was still getting emails about so-and-so uploading new pictures.
Tried this and it worked fine though.
Thanks what_is_clocks (and if your username references what I think it does, you're even more awesome!)

We just made a pretty big change in our email setup last night, and hopefully Comcast won't block us anymore. It looks like a lot more people are getting our mails now. If you still can't get in, please try the lost password facility first, and if you have issues, you can contact me on the Contact Us page as usual. Now on to Hotmail....
Messmaster I have sent you a pm about helping me to sort out my original totalcoverage_uk account due to email/password problems. I have made this temporary totalcoverage_uk2 one until my original is sorted out cheers.

Your pass was updated last night, so you should be good. You can use Contact Us to let me know if you have any more problems.

I actually didn't have too much trouble resetting my password. I created a new one & got back in UMD just fine. However, my old password still works. So I can log in with both my old & my new password. Slightly disconcerting.
Anyone else having this problem? Should I be worried??
Hmm, each user account only has one possible password at any one time... Are you saying your original didn't work, you reset it, and now both the old and new are working? Either way, please contact me via inbox or Contact Us page and I'll investigate further!
