Enigmahood, there's kind of a paradox here. What you say above here is an overarching complaint about other people complaining, about other people venting, about other people not being 100% positive. If you took your own advice, you would "get over it... (and) if it bothers you, just ignore it or do something else." Now I don't really believe that's what you should do. I'm just applying your own advice (which I disagree with) to you yourself.

Sure, people should be able to vent and be negative here. But why do you only want to give this right to the first person to post something on a given topic? Why shouldn't other people be able to express their own opinions on the matter?

Thanks to everyone for the comments, positive AND negative. I do think both PM and I overreacted somewhat, so apologies on my end.

I always try to walk the fine line between being very open in this community, but also maybe keeping some negative/snarky stuff to myself. Especially when it gave the impression that I was taking it out on another producer like Nadia... For that, I apologize, and I wish her all the best. (Plus I'm sure there's some professional jealousy there. Those girls are HOOOOT....)

But at the same time, I don't want to be a "promo-bot" who only posts on here when he's promoting something new. When I returned to the community in 2012, that's basically how I approached things for a long time, but I'm more or less fully immersed again. (Maybe TOO much... After editing all day on the computer, it's probably healthier to walk the dog outside when I need to take a break instead of jumping on the UMD to post... )

So basically: I'll try to keep the positive vibes going and the snark to a minimum. Until I slip. Or until Regis says something and I have to respond in kind. You know how it is!!!

Errrr.. I have to confess, I have just discovered that I wrong about this part. I was living the past, apparently. My statement really only holds true for the first few years Nadia was producing videos, but is inaccurate when talking about her most recent two years. Also, even the videos she did to promote her earlier videos aren't readily accessible anymore. It looks like she had an older YouTube channel that was suspended (although there are at least two other people using the same name as hers currently on YouTube, so it's hard to tell for sure.)

But I know that Nadia did promo videos for the large majority of the videos she produced in 2012-2013, because I have copies of them saved on my hard drive (I can tell by where they're saved that I downloaded them from a streaming site such as YouTube, Daily Motion, or Vimeo.) It's possible she did promo videos for some of the later stuff too, and that I just missed those before her first YouTube channel was suspended, but that's sheer conjecture.

On her current YouTube site (which only seems to be a few weeks old), she has five different videos, all of them slideshows like the one posted at the top of this thread. Almost all of the videos she sells have a single long animated gif on her website. Sometimes these are slideshow-style, but more often they are motion-based, showing a collaged sequence of 15-20 different very excerpts lasting a few seconds apiece -- one good thing about these is that they generally cover the whole arc of the video in question. Of course there's no audio for these, and the resolution is pretty low, so I'd say Rich definitely gives his potential customers more to go on when promoting his videos than Nadia does with hers these days. That wasn't always the case, but it definitely is now. So again, Rich, my apologies.

Just to clear this up; to quote the Messmaster "his self" when I asked him about Nadia being banned from the UMD,("Just for the record; can you tell me if Nadia Valentine was actually banned from this site?"), he replied; "To be honest, I am so buried in the backend of running this site that I don't remember much about the whole debacle. There is no Nadia Valentine banned from this site. I will say this though: there have been no people jumping all over anybody else."
