I guess thinking primarily with one's penis can make anything justifiable. Then again, I don't know all the particulars, but some things should definitely be cleared up for everyone here. Then I'll know where to stand moving forward.
I exited the umd out of immediate necessity. One of my children made allegations of abuse against a family member and a court case has been going on and that's really all I can say publicly without things possibly getting worse for my family. My attorney advised me that it would not be a good look in the conservative area that we live in to have a "porn star" fighting for custody of children. Any customs that I had left undone are already in the works to be finished.
After taking a 9 month hiatus from the fetish model life to deal with some immediately pressing personal business, I'm now settled and able to resume doing what I love.getting messy!
I've had a lot of life changes since I've been gone from the umd. Lots of changes in my personal life and I started working as a bartender, which I love, but I still kept thinking about the umd and eventually being able to come back when I was able and finally I am. I will be resuming producing and doing customs and will be opening my stores back up soon! So send me a message here on umd to say hi and stuff. Would love to hear from my old friends and umd newcomers also!
Hi Ariel, We sure have missed you. I know you can take the girl out of messy but you can't take the messy out of the girl. Especially when it's self discovered and the messy exploits have been developed and expanded through out the years. Why would you ever want to quit when its feels so good. Glad your back.
You could have taken 3 minutes to make a post about your exit and the people here would have been very understanding. I have seen it before. I am just glad I was not one of the people you bailed on a custom with and then stopped responding to leaving them to feel like you had stolen from them. Or the good friend that you shared a store with that you also screwed over. I hope you take the opportunity to go back through and read the thread about your exit. You could have at least started your post with an acknowledgement that you left people high and dry and impacted the finances of others. But I guess since you bailed with no warning all should just be ignored like it didn't happen.

I'm gonna attempt to play a voice of reason here and say that there is more than likely WAY more chatter on the back channels that we ARE NOT aware of taking place between Ariel, MM and all the parties affected by her departure. We can only assume that we DON'T know anything until we hear it from the horses mouth. She gave her .02 and says she's gonna make right with those who ordered customs. Not saying that makes her right or absolves her of any responsibility but now we wait to hear from everyone else on this one.
I get it. People are pissed and justifiably so but I guess what I am saying is let's wait and see how this plays out first before casting stones.
In addition to the UMD's 'Day Mode' and 'Night Mode' settings, MM should add an 'Empathy Mode' that lays a filter of human kindness over everything we see.
I'm glad that you and your family are ok. Clearly having an icon leave unannounced and then come back is giving people mixed emotions. I can only hope this is legit and not a desperate money grab. A lot of people have strong feelings about this and I have my own. I just wish you and your family the best.
First, as someone who visits this site to "think with my dick", so so glad to have you back!
As long as the people who had money in the customs pool at the time of her exit are made whole, people need to give her the benefit of the doubt. I have a VERY hard time thinking she'd burn through 20+ years of reputation without extremely good reason.

While there is likely truth to all of that, I actually think this thread has been quite tame and even cordial in tone, considering the nature of the departure and then a sudden "I'm back, everything is good now" thread. Just saying, I'm not picking a side or anything, but this is likely a best-case scenario set of responses (even the critical ones) for any producer who leaves and returns in a similar manner to this.
Anyway, this is all I have left to say on the matter. Hopefully everything is resolved for all parties affected.

No doubt. It could certainly be worse and totally not dismissing any hurt feelings this return might have conjured up. I'm just saying before anyone starts dropping hammers down on anyone, let's see what comes down the pipe. I don't even think the ones who were personally effected by her departure have even chimed in yet.

I would advise those parties NOT to chime in. It's not in their best interests to do so publicly and doesn't serve the community or them in any beneficial way. This is a private reconciliation with directly impacted parties (if being sought).
For those with pitch forks I urge you to put them down. None of us know what she has gone through personally. Nor do we know what decisions she had to make and frankly it's none of our business. No one is forcing anyone to buy from her store or support her, but let those that do want to support her make that decision without judgement.

My point exactly. This is between them and Ariel. Sure you can have an opinion but things appear jacked up enough as it is. They don't need the peanut gallery egging them on. Better case scenario is they will hash things out and move forward. Worse case? Well, At the risk of sounding like a broken record, let's see what happens first.
Sorry, but I still do not buy this one bit. Mainly because the excuse posted up here is identical to an excuse given two years prior as to why it wasn't possible to return my cash at the time then. To say that the same issue continued for almost 3 years now just seems highly unlikely to me, and doesn't correlate to my own investigations into trying for reimbursement previously.
But there's a history of shady practice here. In trying to get to the bottom of things, I was chatting with people that had worked customs prior to this that I'd paid for. What shocked me was that you'd told them I paid a lot less than the reality of which I did, and what you made out to be a 50/50 split was more a 70/30 in your favour..

Can someone verify this? What was posted by Jayce and word of mouth (which matched Jayce's story) was VERY VERY VERY different and didn't involve kids. I'm not airing out what was said, but this sounds like some sympathy story you made up to get back in on people's good sides versus what really went down.

I don't know what is true or isn't true. But the "Hey everyone, I'm back! You're welcome!" vibe from her initial post (absent reason or apology) just rubbed me the wrong way.
When I retired a number of years ago I cleared up all my loose ends made sure customs were completed and to the highest standard before disappearing for a bit and even then I didn't close my account It just lay dormant Totally different circumstances I understand as I had lost my producer and photographer and it was only when I met my new partner I returned With a very warm welcome and a good explanation Unfortunately bursting through the door of a party shouting in my back when you have a lot of issues to resolve is not the way to return in my opinion especially as you left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths and it's not good for the community either Understand your reasons for leaving if true but leaving a lot of unfinished business and commitments from someone who had held a high position in this community you should have known better. Maybe it's time to gracefully bail out backwards and retire once and for all and learn the right and wrong ways to do things and I think you royally did the wrong thing both to your own image and that of other producers that work hard to keep the stores going and build up trust with the community that support them!!!

This +100. Exactly my own sentiment.
After twenty-something years, Phoebe has now been dethroned as the most awkward and cringe-worthy "I'm back!" example here at the UMD, and your trust factor, at the very least in my own opinion, is in the tank.
With respect to everyone and miss Ariel, only those aggrieved by her have any right to be upset. If you view her actions as dodgy, then it's a simple matter. Don't buy what she is selling. I understand the shock, the frustration and all those emotions welling up in people, however this isn't a public place for tarring and feathering.
Ms Ariel had her reasons for leaving, reasons we don't need to know or understand. Her reputation is tarnished and whatever goodwill she has lost is up to her to reclaim it via deeds and actions. Again, if you don't want to support her, then don't.

That is not necessarily the case as a producer myself actions can directly affect mine and other producers here We all know the stories of a producer that disappears or fails to answer questions when work has been paid for upfront then fails to deliver it affects us all so when somebody does it on such a large scale With such a reputation that should've been one of the most trusted here then it does affect more than those who have lost money through customs and bookings and that's why I gave my opinion, after all everyone is entitled to their opinion I've had on a number of occasions emails from people when ordering customs from me that give examples of other producers who have come and gone and left a mess in there wake including outstanding monies owed leaving me others like me trying to convince them that the money is safe in my hands so forgive me for having my say because other peoples messes do affect those that still stay here and work hard to try and repair the damage I am one of them hence why I have my opinion

Miss Chantelle, I meant no disrespect. You do have a right, as do all the other producers. Perhaps I wasn't as clear as I could be. When I meant aggrieved, I meant producers as well as paying customers. This is a business built on trust, both earned and given. I have been stung before by a conman so i understand the anger that burns within people, such as youself.
But if you're not a producer or someone who has been burnt by her actions then your comments, while welcome, don't really need to be considered.
