I've just been on Bing and it seems to be blocking everything. I just tried a totally innocent prompt, about Manchester Victoria station and I got the content warning, not just the dog

Baffled
I guess my luck card finally got drawn. I've literally generated at least a couple of thousand images between yesterday and today. Hell, I'm even getting 3 images back at once on Designer, and I've NEVER seen more than 2 come back at once, and that was super rare. Bing IS throwing the dog at me if I spam gen with the same prompt more than 5 or 6 times, but I change a word or add/remove a bit and I'm good to go again.

The reason you are getting 3 or 4 images is that Designer and Bing are merged to an extent. The filters are the same in both and you now get the same amount of images as you do from Bing. In fact, anything generated in Designer you can see in Bing history. To test, start running a prompt in Designer and open Bing in another tab, you'll see the image gen running. These major changes have been coming through from about 2pm. For relatively safe prompts, you should end up generating more images easier.
Do you happen to know if they share a daily cap? I just maxed out on Bing and Designer at the same time. Maybe epic timing, I don't know. And, I could also be mistaken, but I think Bing may share Designer's longer prompt character limit now. I was running the same prompt on both, and on both I could only change a few words before hitting the limit, and it seems my prompts are longer on Bing than they were before. If that's the case, that is a change I can get behind.

Yes, they share the same daily limit. think it's about 50/60 successes in total. Bing's character limit through the Website is 480 and has been for as long I can remember. This is only a front end restriction though and you could use more using an api. Designer's limit is still 1000 though although I'd expect them to align Bing and Designer's limits. The bugged button seems to be rolling out to more accounts.I've tested it across a number of browsers and if you get it on one, you'll get it on others.
I jjst started seeing my MD images populating in Bing. Cool trick, you can put your longer prompt in MD and get an image, go over to Bing, and you can hit generate from Bing with your longer MD prompt. Kinda handy.
The pop up dialog box doesn't happen if you use Edge. It's unavoidable with Chrome though. Just typical dirty old microsoft doing what they do. I'm not surprised.

Ohh it does... As I say, I tested last night and there are quite a few others getting the same. If you get it on the account, it's on everything at minute.
Pic. for proof.
Actually... it looks like MS has pushed an update out for Edge at least to fix it. Not sure of other browser handling yet.

I stand corrected, it is working for me though. You may be right that it's account related, as I changed both accounts and browsers.

My suspicion is that they intend to push out a captcha system for generation which makes sense to prevent people from spamming the button but the process is not fully built yet and they pushed a half finished change. Now.. whether this is for all accounts for accounts that have been flagged for excess behaviour, we'll need to wait and see but the underlying code points to a captcha system and the request api has also changed.
Am I the only person not getting these problems? No pop ups, no prompts that used to work a week ago being blocked, no noticeable increase in 'dogs'. The only change I have noticed is that generative erase has gone from Designer, which is a slight shame.

You need to think about this critically.. Bing and Designer are effectively merged. For everyone. There isn't a special server for few. The prompts and generations are shared as are the generation limits. There was a massive nerf of prompting on the 27th, again, no disputing that fact. Read forums and groups, it was a response to the AI deepfakes on twitter.
Now.. as for the generate bug.. again, this isn't imagined but seems to be a change rolling out across accounts related to an upcoming captcha change. If you do get, it's fixed in an edge update. It also seems to be more variable in other browsers/accounts now.
As for prompts not getting blocked. I guess thats down to style. I can prompt for "pretty flags in the garden" all day and get 4 images. Likewise if I'm wanting a woman laughing in a gunge tank I can get 4 all day too. If I want a moody scene of a woman bent over being kissed by her husband whilst covered in mess as her dress sliding off.. Well... that is significantly harder to do after the 27th.
That isn't a dig at your images or anyone elses, just it's not my thing. The real challenge of prompting is the erotica for me.

I was getting that today. A LOT.
I was even trying wholesome things, such as "Rubik's Cube," and "fluffy clouds," and I still got that image.
Ran into another silly one. Im ONLY generating on Bing at the moment. I generated a prompt and it returned one image. I clicked on the image view it in higher res, and it showed me a completely different image. I went back to the generation screen and it showed the first image again. I did this 3 or 4 times. Then when I clicked on on of my previous generation groups, the generation page refreshed and showed the image that I got when I clicked on the first. The image I did not get to see in higher res was totally tame, and I have no idea why it did that. But I guess that's something to keep an eye out for.
The image it let me see in higher res and save was a better image anyway...
So there looks to have been another image filter update last night. Most of my reworked prompts that were doing pretty well are getting heavily filtered again. MS have definitely stepped up their game.
Google released their new image creator a couple of days ago, and I was going to try it out yesterday. But... it tells you before you enter a prompt that every prompt is reviewed by human eyes so they can provide updates as needed blah blah, "so don't type anything that you wouldn't want somebody else to read!" Well, I skipped out on that for the time being. I have to say though, I kind of wonder if MS is employing the same tactic right now. I had several prompts die on me last night. And I'm not talking about all of my prompts that worked a couple days ago suddenly stopped. I'm talking about creating brand new prompts, getting 4 returns, 4, 3, 4, 4, 2, dog, dog, dog, dog, dog, never work again. Like somebody saw what I was generating and then hit the kill switch on that one prompt or parts of it. So I would create a new prompt, it would work great, 3 or 4 images returned every time for 5 or 6 generations, then dead. Back in the day (lol, a month ago) if you only got 1 or 2 images, you knew you were skirting the line. If you got 4, you were good. It is mentally draining to get 4, 4, 4, and then its dead for "content warnings". Blah.....

With MS at the minute, they're still on the back foot regarding celebs. The new set of filters they introduced were easily skirted around so they've upped the filtering again. Filtering was always going to be increased but I have the feeling had it not been for huge amount of celeb NSFW images they would have turned a blind eye to most of the prompting we're doing.
On the future, I've no doubt other models will be released by other companies without such draconian filtering in place. Not sure if that's a good/bad thing when you consider deep fakes and other unsavory topics. When you look back at what was achievable with Dalle-3 before the nerfs and compare it to a year back, it's worlds apart. The next 12 months will be the same.
Well, I gave in and tried Google Bard. I found that you can turn human review off. Anyway, I used my dullest prompt that BIC and MD are still willing to make, and.... "I'm sorry. I can't make images like that. Please try something else."
At this point it probably goes without saying, but the merged BIC/MD is buggy as hell. I was getting the impression that BIC was forgetting which images it was trying to generate, but I have a little better understanding today after paying closer attention to it. First off, I can generate on both at the same time, however, if BIC finishes first, I cannot generate again on BIC until MD is done and I refresh BIC. It acts like BIC has taken over the task or generating the images for MD.
That's the headache. The cool one is that at least half the time when I get the red "It's us, not you" message on MD, it will still push images over onto BIC. So... I say it's cool... but I also realize it's not because that means that most of the time when I've gotten that message, images WERE generated and passed the filter, they just couldn't display them because of technical issues....

Personally as they're both same engine now, I'd stick to one or the other depending on your needs.
Designer still saves to OneDrive which is useful and has longer prompt length. Designer still has some safeguards to prevent spamming prompts. if you get yellows you need to let it cooldown. I think 10 attempts will then give you a hard block. Bing on the otherhand, you can spam that non stop until you hit the limit for the day. I think it's around 150-160 attempts before it will block. The cooldown is now 12 hours rather than the 24 and this is shared with designer.
The last day or so, I can't get much through at all. Prompts that were "old reliable" don't work.
Even more annoying, a prompt will get me a result, and then the same prompt comes up with the Dog 6, 7, 8 times until I go away. It's no fun.
Asking for a girl to be hit in the face works better than asking for a girl to get wet! Um, which one is less Politically Correct?
I heard the other day that Microsoft's profits or earnings were way up, largely because of the popularlity of its AI interfaces. Well, if others get as frustrated as I am, watch for those profits to go way down.
Microsoft have been developing "AI" for some time now, with well progressed neural networks, conversational AI, etc. Now with their significant stake in OpenAI, not to mention they provide the supercomputing platform that all of this runs on, Generative AI will become Microsoft's next big cashcow... perhaps their biggest yet... and they've had quite a few. The Bing/GPT interface we're using hit 100 million ACTIVE users in just its second month of *preview*. It has already smashed the record for fastest growing consumer app. A bit ironic given just a few years ago, Bing was facing obscurity with Google Search being the defacto norm. The other irony being that this was built on foundational architecture designed by Google! Ah the complicated relationships of tech!
Anyway, the key here is it's still in Preview, so we should expect a lot of changes and tuning. This is already a big beast of a platform - in its infancy - overshadowed by the hysteria around Taytay deepfakes and the potential revenue/rights $$$ impact to multimillionare celebs!
I've noticed that as of today, I'm getting 'the dog' on almost any prompt - even very tame ones. Maybe one in a dozen tries results in an image. It's very discouraging to say the least.

It's definitely being fine tuned although other prompts are going through. As ever, it's all about context. I've had some good success reworking some older prompts still but the major issue and need to scale back.
Guess the pics from before the filter change and After (3 of each)
