I wanna play in mud more than just once a week or so during the summer. I have a back deck and I have been looking at tents for the deck (for the lookie loos) I've done light indoor mud and I've done a red Dover clay indoors which was very coating but very splashy! I'm looking for a dark grey/brown type of mud. If you see some of my older videos in the mud pits? The deepest stuff is this dark grey/brown color. Does anyone know where I can find this? Kentucky mud works is incredible but their mud is coating but thinner. I could get it from there but I l don't know how to thicken it up. It comes already ready to go! Like a liquid type form. Anyone have any ideas? So I can have a pool of it too! This will be helpful for customs as well! So? If it's raining or the mud pits are dried up? I will have it! I want it to be thick but not so thick I can't dive and submerge totally! Help a sister out! Thanks so much! I'm on my phone so I can't post pics of what I'm looking for. If anyone wants to post a pic from my store? They can.as to what type of mud I'm looking to have! Thanks! It's gonna be a big and expensive project! But man. Having mud all the time? Will be worth it!
Hi. Jayce. I hope you are doing well. Here is some information I dug up from several years back. I don't know what the prices are now or if this is what you are looking for. But they used to have mud volleyball tournaments in Nashville, and powdered clay is what they used. It was fantastic.
I hope you can set up your "own little mud kingdom." That would be awesome.

You can get a 50 lb bag of Bentonite clay for $26.25 5 lb bag for $13.00 5-gallon bucket for $30.00
Bentonite is a clay material that is light grey in color. When mixed with water it become very slippery and is good for mud wrestling, mud baths, simulating wet concrete etc. When used dry, it can be used to age things, as blowing dust and cremation ashes.
Which is better bentonite clay or kaolin clay? For example, kaolin clay is a fine-grained clay with mild absorption properties, which makes it better for dry to normal skin. On the other hand, French green clay and bentonite clay have stronger absorption properties, making them a good fit for oily skin
Nov 9, 2014 -- It's often the mineral used in clay masks, the layers in the ... to put on your skin and are the main type of 'mud' used in mud wrestling. 50lbs F.C. KAOLIN Part #MFCKB Regular price US$22.70

im looking for a darker clay than the bentonite.
its a great clay! but---im looking for a deeper gray. If anyone knows how to color it? that would be fabulous!
We had good results with (powdered) concrete coloring. It sounds dangerous, but it's not. It's available at Lowes and Home Depot.
We used mostly black (charcoal), but terra cotta is good for coloring it a bit, as well as tan. It's just concentrated pigments.
As it happens, I just had a quick look at both store sites, and it seems like they have switched to liquid form - which is probably easier to mix anyways.

I think I wouldnt use Bentonite.. yes it will inflate and create a ton of mud with just a bag.. but it's just not to same texture.. Phil and Messy Girl have shared their receipe here before but it's somewhere in the range of 10-20% Red art clay and 80-90% Kaolin clay if I remember correctly. Kaolin is pretty pale white color and red art is on the darker side.. together they make the perfect color and texture.. almost like very thick pudding.
Also under your pool, put a water matteress heater.. you will absolutely love controling that clay temperature. This was a big game changer for me. I got this one.. INNOMAX Vinyl Thermal Guardian... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00AXT5H4M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Find a pottery supply company that sells pottery clay by the ton and check out Red Art or Gold Art clay, you of 'em is probably what you're looking for...

An even better suggestion would be to save up all your cents and go on a Trip to Essex UK and meet up with Chantelle and Brooke in their claypits, I for one would buy any resulting videos of a meetup like that

Believe me! If I could afford it? And they would be willing to shoot with me there? I would most definitely go! But? Problem with that is booking a time to go and what if I get there and the pits are dried up? Mud season is so fun but sometimes it can be so sad to go out one day and see glorious mud.come back the next day with a gorgeous gown to get all messy and it's dried! That has happened to me so many times! I've always still found a way to get muddy but? When I've missed that amazing opportunity? It hits my feels! This year? I will be only going if I have my clothes with me! My hiking gear to get down there and camera in hand/ I'm considering getting a go pro so if I don't have someone with me? I can film myself! I've been looking.but they are costly as well to get the resolution I want.

You are more than welcome to come here and I would definitely do shoots with you. The good news is the clay pits are all year round, and if one has dried up slightly, we always have another half a dozen available. Add to save on a hike in was your shoes are drones fly across them I can tail within minutes weather in usable or not. The only thing that restricts us is the weather we generally have from about now until the end of September before the weather changes so if you fancy a summer time trip, you're more than welcome.
As far as the GoPro, you should be able to get away with a Hero 9 or 10 if you can't quite swing the 11; the 11 apparently has a tendency to overheat more easily at the highest resolutions (definitely happens with the 11 Mini I have, pretty annoying). That said, I've filmed myself in 2.7K with a Hero 5 and 5 Session with pretty decent results albeit indoors with controlled lighting. r/gopro on Reddit will have plenty of (occasionally contradictory) advice too.
