That's not possible anymore. The new "Nano Banana" model is great for keeping consistency, but has been a huge step backwards regarding realism, image quality and strict filtering. It also struggles with generating realistic-looking wet clothes now, especially jeans and business attire are often far from looking good.

On the other hand, it's really nice for doing variations or telling stories. I also made some during the last days.

Thanks for the info. I will try to switch to 2.5 pro if that is possible sometime later today. it does let you switch models but I'm just not using the tool right now cos I have to do some actual work LOL

it looks like the Gemini 2.5 pro is still able to make the wet tee shirt type of photos but it is a separate AI that does the checking for 'violations'. (somewhere in the new Vertex Studio console). It will take some more work to see if I can just run Gemini locally somehow. For now the slime or other mess pics are working so that is great; storytelling makes a great photo sequence up to 6 pictures.

It's strange, at least on my paid account I can't use the better creation model anymore, also switching from Flash to Pro doesn't change a thing. I recently read that this may be an error/known issue and contacted Google about it (although I doubt they care but we'll see).

On my other account it works like I think it's supposed to be, creations are made with Imagen (better resolution and quality, different aspect ratios etc.) and only when editing or uploading images the inferior model is used.

It makes no sense for me to provide my personal information to UMD because I'm not getting paid for it. (I don't have a store here). I'm not sure why the UMD set up their rules this way, maybe they have a good reason. But either way if they don't approve my post then it really doesn't hurt me.

Absolutely understandable. I verified my profile a while back, but I don't think I would do it today. Although it's nice to have the possibility to upload such pictures also.

BTW Google seems to have fixed something as I finally can use Imagen for generation again and Nano Banana for editing, as it is supposed to be. Yay!
