"First time encounters with big name WAM folk"

I have no intention of filming my own movies and yet I always wonder what it would be like to meet and film some of these girls that are famous in our world.
For most people, if they knew Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Liam Neeson or some other big name was going to actually be visiting their house AND filming a scene, I would think they'd be super excited, nervous, aaaaaaaand probably overthink it. They might think something like, "I read online Johnny likes potato chips, but I am not sure what kind, so I'll buy 10 different kinds!"

I've met a few of the big names, and the thing I'd say they all have in common is they are lovely people.
MM is just the most awesome, chilled, respectful and friendliest guy you could ever hope to meet. We really do all take for granted the epic community he's built here, but it's easy to overlook just how much his brilliant (and, at least in the on-line world, unusual) approach to problem solving and reconciliation has gone to make the UMD the amazing community it is. Under less skilked stewardship it could have been a very different and much poorer place to be.
Soundguy likewise, chilled, relaxed, happy to chat despite me having messed him about a bit re setting up a vidown store.
Maria of course is an absolute legend and utterly wonderful both in WAM scenes and in real life too. Friendly, kind, and endlessly willing to help.
Candy Custard is a true star. Practical, helpful, relaxed, and kind. That also goes for Jelly'n'Custard and her partner.
Leon and Lisa are very lovely people to meet - and again, relaxed and chilled.
Mike Nomic is a really lovely guy, generous and happy to give time to others. His splunches in Bristol are well worth attending.
I'm sure I've missed others off the list, apologies to anyone overlooked. But so far at least, I don't think I've ever met anyone who was less than lovely to know in the WAM community.

anyone that has ever met me, typically feels insanely comfortable within MINUTES bc i am OFF THE WALL !! and i pride myself on being really easy to relate to, talk to, blah dee dah. im kinda ditzy and i think that helps people when they meet me bc im just funny to be around, i suppose. i am not dumb...but i will own to being a total ditz....not annoying ditz...just kinda relateable ditzy....hahaha if that makes sense!! i dont think anyone would be star struck at all...they would probably want to get messy and then watch game of thrones with me and eat pizza. haha! XD best frands

I try to be the courteous dork in the background at shoots for the last 20+ years. Even on past occasions when I was in charge that was still pretty much my role. I was initially fascinated by these ladies and even though I understand them better now I'm still impressed by some though in a different way.
Most have their idiosyncrasies like we all do but overwhelmingly the models are lovely ladies. My biggest before and after experience was with someone who isn't really a "WAMFetish" star but had done a lot of mud work. In 1998 during the first MPV shooting season I arrived to learn that Dave had gotten scream queen Brinke Stevens to show up. Already being a fan I barely noticed her as she got out of her car with ball cap and sunglasses. When she came out of the trailer it was BOOM! There was the Brinke Stevens I had seen on late night Cinemax. She was absolutely the nicest, most intelligent, person I could have ever imagined. She took a genuine interest in what we were doing and added her considerable skills and experience to helping us get it all right. Later I contacted her for work at Studio 588 and she kept coming there for several years. Great lady, total professional all the time. You could walk up to her anywhere and that's the way she would be. Not difficult to see why she's still working.
Kimberly Jane always struck me as being in a class by herself. Like being next to a nuclear reactor the light is brilliant but the radiation will eventually kill you. Fascinating and genuinely talented person but approach with caution.
The majority of them are people who would be happy to snap a photo with you and maybe chat a bit but don't get weird with them. If they let you get to know them you would find that most of them are at least bright and generally very intelligent. They don't get to be names we know without some people skills and work ethic. They are "normal" in that they have bills and kids and a life but they are not normal like you and I. There are energies inside that make them different and even if you could be around them all the time you would never quite be one of them. Probably because I'm such a square I will always be a fan even after working with them for several years.

I think Kym would heartily agree with your vivid description of her (based on what I have read on her Twitter account). Being that I get the same vibe (WITHOUT having met her), I would be curious to learn more. Any good antidotes, stories?
How did you find Paris?
I've hosted a few folks over the years and visited others. When hosting I'll usually ask in advance if they want anything refreshment wise. The stories I could tell you of the diva demands, it's like having Mariah Carey round! I think someone wanted herbal tea once and Maria settled for wine once! Funnily enough they tend to be normal people too! There's usually some latex outfits lined up which tends to add a bit of excitement too. I'm not the chattiest person, but cheeky outfits and lots of mess prepped isn't a bad start.
There's always nerves before any encounter, when they're coming to me, there's the inevitable hold up on the m25 or trouble with the trains. When I'm going to them you can be sure Google maps will add drama - directed through a wall en route to Candy's old wam pad, and a few tours of places that were the "scenic" bump up the fare route!
We won't mention jug-gate either!

My day job is as a theatre / live events technician. I've met loads of famous people (actually famous ones, not just famous in the fetish world). Most people are really nice, so long as you don't make a big thing about them being famous and just treat them like normal people...
Kym is like a stoner version of Maria from what I gathered. Both are super artistic too, but Kym is a bit more outwardly dark. Where Maria identifies as an entertainer, Kym owns the fetish model thing.
Maria, I can't really say because the first time I met her I didn't know she was a producer/model so there was no star-struckness. She is one of the most caring and deep people you will ever meet though, if you're lucky enough to. I'm proud to have her as a friend.
Messmaster and Mistress are just really genuine down to earth good people. Very open and casual. Together they are like Yin and Yang, inseparable and perfectly complimenting.
Mr. and Mrs. MG are quiet pleasant and non-intimidating. They make you feel comfortable and welcome.
Meeting DM1 was like when you imagine meeting someone and when you do, they are EXACTLY how you imagined. Which is to say a good thing. He's a good and generous man, kind of thought and action.
For those I haven't met...
I'd very much like to go meet up with Jayce and Ariel sometime this year, but who knows. It would be cool to break my intimidation of Ariel. Jayce, I know I'm golden so long as I remember the Hardee's and Dr. Pepper.

Paris came to us by way of Lena Ramon. Lena is a story all by herself. Anyhow Paris was very young when Lena brought her to us on an early trip to Arkansas but she grew up fast.
Paris made repeated trips to Arkansas with us as well as our desert lake location and finally the opening days at Camp MPV. She loved kink, exploitation movies, and acting. She was very good at the theatrical stuff. I think we were the last company outside her own site that she worked with before leaving the business. She loved what she did and was very good at it. Attached is a photo of her about to hit the mud for the first time with Lena and Brittany of "Messyfun". The most immediate anecdote about Kym that comes to mind, and there are a few, was about getting her to "blow up" something. Directing Kym was pretty easy since anything you wanted she would just do better than you could have imagined anyway. One night I had this lacy white lingerie thing that I gave her and asked her to do some dreamy stuff with it. She was really in the groove that night and there's two or three dozen photos of her just posing before we began. She came out, hit the mud, stripped, orgasmed, swam, cannon balled, submerged, attacked the cameras, splattered mud all over the county, dunked, squealed, sank, you name it. The next morning it looked like two biker gangs had a WAM riot out there. Clean up was a pain but we shot a great freaking video.
Later she blew up the peat bog and a primitive "quicksand" pit at Studio 588. Then went on to blow up Lake Meade outside Las Vegas. Kym's energy is very real and what you see is her. I don't recall ever telling her what to do again.

It just became shorthand between Dave and I for dropping a high-energy Kym bomb on a location. Generally her performance would trash the surrounding area or set and leave it in need of repair. There were several locations on Lake Meade that appeared to have been nuked by Kym after we left them.
Another example of vintage Kym is in the photo below. No need to waste time on how we got there but this was taken at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool in rural Perryville, Missouri while surrounded by construction workers. They never saw her and it was a good thing because I didn't really want my ass kicked while trying to defend her.

As a touring musician and sound man for many decades, I got used to being around "celebrity" pretty early on, so there was never any anxiety over working with any of the legends of the fetish world. Paris moved up here to the Seattle area for a while back in the olden days and she basically lived right up the road from me. We had lunch a few times and I hosted her membership site for a few years. Star found me by way of a CraigsList ad I used to run occasionally.
