I don't Facetweetgram so the UMD is just about all I got! Sad, I know, but I just watched one of my favorite movies and thought I'd like to see others point of view. Since I know many of you here, it would be that much more interesting. I'll start:
Movie: When I want to pretty much feel every emotion there is and end on a happy note, my favorite movie is "The Sound of Music". Remarkable movie!
When I want to think and marvel at the magic of movies, my favorite is "The Philadelphia Story"... the acting is superb, the wit is outstanding, the writing is impeccable and each major star is at the top of their game, but mostly, Katherine Hepburn's portrayal of Tracy Lord just speaks to my soul.
Album: When I want to again go through a roller coaster of emotion laced with beautiful music, "Tapestry" is my most loved album. But when I want to experience my life in 17 songs with the incredible composition and talent of a modern Beethoven, "Quadrophenia" has blown me away since I discovered it in 1975.

Good idea! Movie; Monty Python's, "Life of Brian" I've seen it so many times but there is always something else to make me laugh. Album; Springsteen, "Tunnel of Love" Every emotion covered. Quote; Evelyn Beatrice Hall, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Peter.
Movie: Taxi Driver, the best example of atmosphere in any movie in my opinion (even more so than Blade Runner). The techniques used to create alienation go beyond De Niros performance so i think its just the pinnacle of cinema and the themes it can really fuckin explore.
Album: Perverted By Language by The Fall, probs my favourite album by The Fall (and there's a shitload of them) but this is them sot consistent in terms of lyrical content and somewhat catchy post punk. The mix manages to hold up the best hits from the album and really brings out Mark E Smith front and centre.
Quote: "I have written much less than most people who write; I have drunk much more than most people who drink." - Guy Debord
Movie: Casablanca, closely followed by Some Like It Hot, The Godfather and (as I also enjoy arthouse films) Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal.
Album: Same as you, Madeline,Tapestry. In my first year at University the guy in the room next door seemed to have a record collection that consisted only of this album. He played it so much it got to the stage that I either had to love it or hate it. It's stayed with me ever since.
Quote: (had to think about this one) "All you need is love", a song by a certain British group that was rather popular in the sixties. Closely followed by "Always look on the bright side of life", the only choice for anyone about to be crucified.
I love this thread! It's so hard to decide though - very fluid and evolving for me, so much depends on whether I'm feeling nostalgic, or sad, or happy and energetic!
Anyway, these are my current feels. I also couldn't decide between posting as my "real" self or as my alter ego so I decided to do both.
Here goes:
AlterEgo:
Movie: Moulin Rouge (with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor - CANNOT BELIEVE it's 20 years old already!) AND/OR Shall We Dance (original Japanese version - not the shitty American version with Richard Gere and J Lo)
Album:Siouxsie & the Banshees' Kaleidoscope (Red Light is Bee's theme song, haha) AND/OR Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain
Quote:"If you have to walk through hell, at least walk as if you own the place" Kinda Winston Churchill-ish - it's a quote on a coffee mug I received as a gift - designed by an artist named Erin Smith
Actual Me:
Movie: Big Night (all about food and love and family + Stanley Tucci!!! :loveeyes AND/OR The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro (I love all of his films, really)
Album: Candy-O by The Cars (I love to blast this in my SUV during my commute but it's a damned good way to end up with a speeding ticket!) AND/OR Una Volta by DeVotchKa
Quote:"What doesn't kill me only makes me weirder and harder to relate to..." Also attributed to Erin Smith but not really sure...
