Maybe you have a scene you've been waiting to see again for all these years?
I don't know if it's a 'holy grail,' but many years ago I had Messyfun's Tawny vs. Frenchie pie fight and I don't know if it's still for sale anymore. I don't think it's on their clipstore.
OMG there was a New Truth or Consequences skit that had an audience member selected for his goofy laugh brought on stage.
The game was that he had to make the audience laugh at various points during the show with his goofy laugh, but if he didn't all manner of things would befall him (pie, slime, etc). Of course, the audience was in on the joke and the guy got it good--at one point I recall a model in a swimsuit coming out to nail him with a pie.
Alas, I don't know that many of the episodes survived outside of the few that made it onto YouTube.
Indeed it did...how well they got pied who knows but a behind the scenes feature showed them in it. But sadly that film is probably in more legal hell that Gilliam's Don Quioxte or Jerry Lewi's clown movie

Honestly.. Zoey in a slime pool by messymodelsasia is amazing (or any unreleased video). The colours and coverage look absolutely incredible. Sucks how it will probably never see the light of day.
In the interest of discussion, none of these may qualify as holy grail, but may be inaccessible / lost, or only poor versions exist, so they are near-grail
There were, according to a fanwiki list which may be inaccurate, three episodes of MTV's Remote Control which had a pie in the face for snack break. I'm only aware of two being readily available (one of which, for my tastes, is a 10/10 scene), but I'm not deep enough in any Remote Control circulation to know if the 3rd episode is out there in an offline collection somewhere. The missing pie episode is Remote Control S01E17 - Nancy, Dan, Beth. No idea how good the pieing is. One of the episodes is great, the other one, the contestants put up their hands or the pie didn't hit square-on/etc, so not as good, so this lost episode my be like that
Basically every episode but the one currently available of The Cheap Show (pie/gunge) which was mentioned on here recently. I actually don't know if there was any female mess on that show, I did read one place that it was male only, but I don't know if that was an authoritative source. I recall one of the clip tape compilers (forget if Hurley or Wamtec) had a standing request for any copies of the show, but don't know if they were just seeking it for male WAM or the potential for female WAM but they didn't know anything certain. There supposedly are few more copies that are literally preserved, but they are in formal/professional TV/media archives and I think some of these are not publicly available, even for a fee
An original quality version of both Alison Jack Sky News pieings (low quality 'copies' exist). I accept blame for this (along with anyone who enjoyed the clip on first circulation in the early 2000 or whenever) as I probably downloaded it numerous times but always eventually deleted it for whatever reason. I suspect numerous folks may have the original file (not necessarily anyone here, but people in different communities or who are no longer active, that sort of thing)
Original quality copies of all episodes of College MadHouse (I don't know if even all episodes are online, but I do know, if they are, quite a few shows are only available in pretty rough quality. I don't mean 30-year old VHS 240p rough, I know that is what the quality is going to be at best, I mean these are tape-degraded rough.)
Any full episodes of Gonzo Games. The mess was never that great and we may already have the best that was on the show on clip tapes (the chimney game), but it would be nice to go through them all and check
Again, not sure if anything more aired vs what we have, but the 80s version of The New Truth or Consequences. There was at least one co-ed piefight which does exist online, but again, in poor quality where it's hard to make out (even in good quality, there's few close ups in any case). Other episodes with male mess also available
I actually have 2 personal Holy Grails (from the same unknown show) that would not be considered good scenes by most folks but (from memory) they are to me. Been meaning to ask about these at some point, may as well here
There was some show that aired circa 1998-91 (give or take a year on other side maybe) in the US. Really hazy on details about the show itself, so this all could be wrong from memory. I think it aired at 8pm ET, on a Friday night (maybe Sat?), fairly certain on an over the air broadcast network (not cable). I think CBS. Pretty sure it aired only once (no second episode). I am thinking now it was a burned-off pilot. Hard to describe the show, it was a series of segments. Looking back, it seemed like they basically just took a camera crew and filmed stunts / contests / promotions local radio stations were doing. It just seemed like the type of stuff radio stations did. I may have got this vibe b/c I think each segment seemed like it was in a different city with a different local emcee/host. Maybe there was radio signage or they mentioned the hosts were local DJs, I don't specifically remember that but maybe that's how I got the idea and I just forget the specific instance of them saying it. There may have been an in-studio TV host (likely just 1) who intro'd each segment, but I do not remember a studio audience.
OK, so as to the specific segments.
One segment had people volunteer to have honey poured over them and then get an opportunity to roll around in a pile of money. I think it was for charity, whatever stuck they would give to charity (as opposed to the volunteers keeping it). So there were a few females, none that particularly stood out as very attractive, and they didn't pour anything over the volunteers' heads (at least female), just their shoulders. However, the scene does tick a couple of boxes for me. First, I like 80s era one-piece swimsuits which several women wore. Second, I am really drawn to everyday people doing things like this for fun/YOLO etc, and the natural reactions were great. The nervous laughter and reaction of the women when the honey was starting to be poured on their shoulders: 'What did I get myself into', 'I can't believe I'm doing this', etc
The second segment was a contestant won a trip to work in a limo (I don't know if they got anything else, b/c otherwise it was, like, OK?), but they had to ride in the limo's jacuzzi / bubble bath. So the winner was a woman, they greet her at home and tell her she won. She changes into a one piece swimsuit for the ride. The segment host rides with her in the jacuzzi. So this actually might not be either wet or messy, depending on your definition. I don't recall there being a lot of water in the jacuzzi, certainly not shoulder level, so there was no real wetlook. Also, the bubbles were very airy and "dry", not like thick suds (not like the scene in Pretty Woman, for example). I remember they had to stop at a gas station (probably 'cause the limo got like 5 mpg) and I remember the host jokingly asking for a refill of the bubble bath as well. So not all that great, but what again sticks in my mind is they arrive at the woman's workplace. and they have her walk into work in her bathing suit, and sit down at her desk. It wasn't like a huge office or anything, kind of like a reception area in a non-retail storefront type office. The host has a discussion with the contestant's boss (a woman), apologizes for the contestant being late, and jokes that the contestant, "is probably _overdressed_ versus how she usually comes to work". I just again remember the contestant reaction sitting down at her desk in her swimsuit, kind of doubling over in laughter at the situation, and again with the demeanor of 'I can't believe I'm doing this'
Now, based on the description, folks may think of some potential answers. I can say for certain the show was not Anything For Money and it was also not the 1984 revival of People Are Funny.
I actually may have found a potential likely air date and time slot a while back (looking through some archived schedules, it was the only slot without a program title for that week), but I have to dig that out, and it would just be a potential airing date anyways, not certain
Speaking of People Are Funny, I've read the original TV version had pies/water, don't know if any female (and I assume all those have been wiped or never saved). I wonder if the 80s version had that, or dropped it.
For me it's the UK Game for a Laugh Pie Scenes...such as the Pie Chair where a guy would be pied in front of the big audience each week. Terrific build up and great pies.
Also there are lots of missing scenes with UK presenter Peter Simon...used to love seeing that guy get pies and gunge (I'd love to flan him)
Elizabeth Chambers on Sing, lose then pie. As far as I'm aware, it's never been available in the U.K. I think it was part of a vh1 show called morning buzz
For me, its not so about scenes but about WAM creators. I desperately miss PIEJINKS/piesnextdoor content and ThatsUnfairTV as well, TUTV had the absolute best public pieing/slimings i have ever seen, you cant find any of his stuff anywhere. Public messings itself is dead. Nobody has dare done a public pieing in over a decade and those that have done it their videos cannot be found anymore. If I did have to pick a scene i am waiting on its BlueLeopardMedia's "Ruby Diamond" short film.
There was a programme called The Programme, on ITV, circa 1980. Guess why that is impossible to find?
From memory it was more or less a clip show, to illustrate how television dealt with certain topics.
One was comedy, and it was introduced by a very glamorous lady, evening gown, coming down a long stately home type staircase, and, in a sultry voice, announced, "hello, and welcome to The Programme."
And then she got a pie in the face.
Then the same scene played out again, only this time, when she got to the bottom, she deliberately looked either side before announcing a welcome to The Programme.
Like Rich said, as a child of the 70s and 80s there are many, many scenes that I would like to see again but doubt I will. Three stand out. I will not only pay to see these scenes again, I have paid for scenes done by producers here that approximate these scenes. In order of likelihood of seeing again:
1. Winnie from Electric Company gets pied twice by a "mechanical" clown. Yes, I know that scene is out there. See here: https://youtu.be/8b4dIWb5s-8 BUT the scene is cut and the cut parts, for me, make the scene (at least how I remember it). I like how Winnie thinks she is going to trick Rita into getting pied. The build up into thinking she might get pied only for poor Winnie to get pied again. I even like the dialogue that was cut. I think Rita says something, in a sarcastic voice, like "Oh, you're right THAT was funny."
2. Oops sketch-- again from Electric Company. Crank is a customer and Rita is the waitress. She messes him up while saying "Oops". He then turns the table on her-- messing her up while saying "Oops." This actual scene can't possibly ever match up to my memory of it, but I want to see it again nonetheless. Again, it is the build up and the humiliation aspect here that really gets me.
3. Mike Douglas Show with Paul Anka and, I THINK, Deirdre Hall. Deirdre Hall is smoking hot by the way. Sketch set in a Western Saloon. Mike is the hapless sheriff character and Paul Anka plays the bad cowboy dressed in black. Deirdre is the barmaid who keeps trying to "help" Mike by giving him things to clobber Paul (a club, a bomb, etc.), but these things always backfire and Mike ends up getting clobbered. Finally she hands Mike a pie. He looks at Paul and he looks at Deirdre and decides to smash the pie in her face again. I still remember seeing this clip while at my Grandmom's apartment-- who else would be watching the Mike Douglas Show. Has to be before 1978. There is a scene that Ken Shimura did that approximates (kind of) this scene (starts around the 9:12 mark): https://youtu.be/eUy8C8k8Bv0?t=551
Late 1980s or early 1990s. Scottish TV presenter Muriel Gray doing a trailer for a programme to be shown later covering the Scottish camping and caravan show at (I think) the SECC. The trailer consisted of her, speaking to camera, wearing a pretty pink dress, standing in a running shower. I'm guessing the shower was part of the portable camping equipment being exhibited at the show. As I remember there were both full-height and closeup shots. The water was pouring over her head and flooding through her dress. I've no idea if the actual programme also had her in the shower but the trailer was brilliant.
An episode of "The New Treasure Hunt." Ch 2 NYC ran the promo over and over again. It appears only the bikini'd models and Geoff Edwards got pied, not the contestants like the New Treasure Hunt episode that is floating around. One of the models is I believe Sivi Aberg. IIRC she was the eye candy in "Silent Movie" which had no pies and a former Miss Sweden.
Many Mike Douglas Show episodes had pies in the face. Again, I recall a promo showing Roger Moore daring Mike to shove that pie in his face. Douglas also had Moe Howard on at least twice. I have no intrest in seeing Moore pied but I wonder what women got nailed.
1. Mid 90's SNICK. They did a slimetime live where Ellen from Pete and Pete got it and the actress from are you afraid of the dark. It was bumpers in between the shows for the night. Have not seen it since originally aired.
2. An amateur video from a college about 7-8 years ago. The youtube video was titled "pied to humiliation." Girl in leggings getting pied like 30 times.
I vividly remember seeing one of the female models get pied on a segment of sale of the century (US version). While I think/hope the recipient is Summer Bartholomew, my memory cant guarantee it, I was only 11 or 12 and hadn't developed my fetish yet. It might have been just the model in the sale items, but the memory stuck.
A Lenny Sorge video with a woman with short blond hair getting pied. It was on one of his DL sites early on but was taken off shortly, and unfortunately my DVD copy of it no longer plays (don't use cheap blank media!)
GreetingCard said: Not a messy scene, but there's a few WAM stories that have been lost over the years that I keep hoping will turn up again.
This! It probably deserves a thread of its own but there are definitely series that have either been lost or came to an end too soon that I'd love to see again.
Ann Margaret was pied in one of her TV specials in the late 60s or early 70s. I've only ever talked to two people who saw it -- one said the pieing wasn't that great, the other said he thought the pieing itself was fine but the camera angle was not great. So probably not a true golden classic but still it's Ann Margaret!
I'm pleased that I managed to scratch the itch recently of the scene from the Paul Daniels show that I'd remembered but not seen since transmission.
Another personal Grail is Doon Mackichan having a bowl of chicken soup poured over her head in a programme called Wake Up London in the late 1980s. The most annoying thing about this one is that I somehow managed to record it but it got taped over
theblast99 said: Philippa Forrester getting pied by a clown live on tv - would have been around 1992/1993 time
I taped that and had it for many many years, till my ex wife persuaded me that I should 'declutter' and got me to throw out a lot of things I now regret getting rid of (not just wam tapes by any means).
I do have a memory, perhaps false, that I sent it to Mark Kelly who put it on a wamtec clip tape....but he wouldn't have known who she was, so it would probably just be billed as 'woman tv presenter pied by a clown'.
It's a really long shot but it's the best I can do for you, I am afraid
