Hey all, just wondering in what way you guys sort your WAM folders? Over the years mine has changed a few times. My current one is 2 main folders, Gunge and Mud/Quicksand, with sub-folders of the website names they come from. I also have a few folders that are just related to the substance because they are more of a niche thing. For example in my gunge folder i have a "Stuck Fetish", "Lotion" and a "From TV" folder.
I used to have folders based on substance and models but found my current way seems to be better when i'm trying to find something specific.
It's a pretty trivial post but I was just curious.
I don't have a WAM folder per se... but rather I sort my production archive by which camera It was produced on and then which model is featured, and then the theme of the shoot in sub folders accordingly
I generally have on root folder for each download store (UMD/ManyVids etc.) and sort them via what store I purchased/downloaded from respectively. I also have sub folders for the one or two producers/models that tick the boxes more so than others.
1. Misc mess. 2. pool, bath or drop tank. 3. overhead tank or poured. 4. Pies. 5. Mud. 6 Clean.
The Clean folder is new and is mostly women holding pies in a dom or playful manner. I like this one as 1 picture last year managed to ping my libido to annoying levels (7-8) from my usual greysexual 0-1 levels. It's also useful to show girlfriends who are less into the messy side.
The video folder is not organised as I only have a few due to tech-fail losing most of my collection and the backups being so old I couldn't find a program that could run them!
By producer, and then by name of scene, sometimes with a few words basic description in the folder name too if the actual name doesn't make it obvious what's in the scene.
Mine tend to be a mix of producer or model, depending on whichever one makes more sense.
I've got all my MessyGirl scenes in one folder, along with House of Mess (albeit split into Jayce and Jilly) and the Moomins.
On the other hand, I've got all of Fi's stuff in the one folder, and all of Kacie's too, as it seems more logical then splitting their clips up by the producer.
Then there are those, such as Leila or Melissa, where "model" and "producer" are interchangeable, so those folders are marked with the model (and producer's) name.
I have one folder for each producer, and then I store a "readme.txt" file in each folder with an index of all the files. (That's useful for the more cryptic filenames, e.g. "csx2018_02-cut-03.mp4 = JustPied in pants Lila")
In theory, I could tag video files (which I already do for photos), but I've never bothered.
I name the video files with the producer, model names, and video title. Then maybe add something regarding substance or body paint color for easy searching.
Like 75% of my attention to this fetish is organization. I think I might have a problem. By producer is pretty easy, but I have high hopes of organizing by sub-category (actress, nude?, slime or pie, etc.). By actress name. Amateurs split into different categories (slime, cakes, causes, etc.). Gameshows? Sure, but organized by country. I have a separate porn folder for porn that is not WAM focused but has WAM in it. I like organizing my collection. It is like a hobby. Again, I might have a problem EDITED to add that about three years ago I lost my collection in a hard drive failure. I told myself that I was going to give up WAM collecting-- begin a new "me". That lasted about two weeks. There are still clips that I used to have that I can't find again.
I have terabyte after terabyte of my own shoots. All organized alphabetically by domain name (I have over a dozen sites myself) Within each domain folder, each shoot folder is named with
year-month-day-model(s).
Within each shoot folder, each piece of video is named with
Does anyone have a good way to "rate" your videos? I do have "first world problems", where I have this great vid from 2010, that I forgot, until years later I see it again and I'm like damn, I should add this to my playlist. I don't have a playlist obviously...
Most of the solutions I found were very clunky and resource intensive. It would be nice if a system just kept tracked of how often we played video files and come up with an automatic ranking of favorite files. Or if there was a nice non-intrusive way to label each file, like after it's played, it asks for your feedback (star rating), and remembers that so that you can search for all your 5-star videos.
My WAM folder is just a small section in a larger filing system. I got WAM from WSM in their own folder and sub categories, Mostwam under their own folder and sub categories of scenes, Leila Hazlett just has one file, Jacye too.
Non WAM material is in there a well. Leather, Latex, PVC, Boots and High Heels.
I have a separate drive. I start with a P and V section. (for photos and videos) Then, I have folders by substance, filled mostly with sample or generic content I've gathered over the years. Then there is a 'from Producers' with clips and images I've purchased, sorted alphabetically by producer. I keep the file name original on videos, so I don't accidentally re-purchase the same one again.
I usually do it by model cos if I dig a model ill buy multiple scenes of hers. Owt else goes in a miscellaneous folder which i end up completely forgetting about and surprise meself when its full of lots of great scenes

Funny you mention that- I've been trying to organize my collection also and so far have settled on this: https://pornganizer.org/ I don't have to organize the folder structure, but have to rate, tag, catalog all the clips. Anyone else using something similar? Too bad there isn't a data scraper some how to pull the data for you. (I didn't write the program, just found it useful. Here is another discussion of alternatives: https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/88lzr6/videoporn_organizer_webserwer_that_works_on_all/ )
My folder for WAM is called "Definitely Not Mess" inside the "Nope" folder which is in the "Don't" folder. Along with the other folders "Doesn't Have Dicks" and "IT'S TOO FLUFFY!"
Personally, my folder is generally sorted as "- - " given that I spend much more time writing stories about WAM than watching videos. I own a few vids, but I'm much more of a participant so I very rarely watch videos.

To expand on my original answer, for stuff by other producers, I have a WAM folder in my main general data storage drive, under which things are in folders by overall producer (so "Moomins" or "Jayce House Of Mess"), and then under that if necessary by subdivision folders, so for instance under "Moomins" there is "MostWAM", "Charlotte", and "TopGunge".
Then, within each section, each download gets its own folder (usually with a name copied and pasted from the scene title), and all the files for that download go in that folder.
Where there are a lot of scenes (for instance AllWam, which I was a member of for quite a while) I'll then add "AAA - " to the start of the scene folder names for all the really good scenes. This also has the advantage of moving the folders of the best ones to the top of the list. But I do still occasionally look through the non-AAA folders, as my tastes do change a bit with time.
For my own produced material there are entirely separate internal hard drives, where everything is filed as Websites (WAM), Saturation Hall, then divided into the current substance divisions, so food, gunge, mud, oil, wetlook (the mud and wetlook being released on Langstonedale, the rest on Saturation Hall), and then each scene has a series number like 2f221, which is the 221st scene in the series 2 food scenes (and goes live later today). This year we are going to start shooting series 3, which will have fewer photos, shot during pauses in the main action (so no camera clicks on the soundtracks) and more emphasis on pure video, so those scenes will all be 3xnnn where x is the letter for the content type and nnn is the set number.
