As you can see from the lack of green tick I haven't had mine verified. The reasons are: I neither up or download. I've met a fair few folk from here at splunches over the years. On the very rare occasion that I've wanted to prove to someone that I exist and am who I say I am I just say message so and so I've known them for years. I'm a bit worried about the process, when I joined here proof of age wasn't a thing. On the majority of sites there was an are you over 18 tick box when first signing in. I once joined a fetish club with an illegible name and address.
As you can tell from the questions I'm wondering if it might be worth getting that green tick. It feels like the more of us have the green tick the more robust the site is to changes in legislation. So those of you with a tick why did you get verified and how did you find the process? If you're site admin do you think it would be better for UMD if more of us got verified?
I've been verified for years because it's a requirement to run a store - reasonably enough.
Simple process and yes, I have no issues trusting MM with the data.
Note you don't currently need to be verified to make purchases and download, only to upload explicit stuff. The basic idea of the "verified to upload explicit content" is that it makes it harder for people to upload stuff they don't own, or don't have the rights to distribute. Granted, someone could verify with a fake ID but doing that in order to then say post revenge porn would be a specific criminal offence, so the risk of prosecution becomes much higher - which is enough to deter most who might otherwise be tempted.
Anything uploaded by non-verified users goes into a queue that admin then need to approve, and we reject anything where there's either nudity, or it was clear the person was naked when the image was taken (like where it's obvious no underwear is being worn even though we can't actually see full frontal). The idea isn't to censor nudity, but ensure only those who've taken the extra step of verification can post it, meaning it's much more likely they have the correct rights to do so.
I haven't done it yet for several reasons: 1. I'm not in a position to set up a store yet 2. I'm more a fan of clothed WAM, so that negates a big part of the reason 3. As a way to set a limitation on myself so I don't get carried away
However, I do see benefits to it even though I'm not planning on doing total nudity anyway...
So it's a very real possibility that I will get verified at some point next year, after I settle into the new place in the Spring and start making more content more regularly again.

I did it for a few reasons For one to show support and show I'm a person For two to help messmaster in gaining more users in a community of trust and community
I just got my profile verified. I did it because I plan on possibly opening a store or at the very least, uploading videos someday. I also did it just because I think it does help to signify that I am trusted by the site which is a good thing to show everyone.
I trust this site; it's been around a looong time and I have gotten the sense MM and other admins watch out for the users, store owners and customers. I got verified because I initially wanted to post a video set at name-your-own price; six years later, I guess that makes me a bit of a slowpoke adding anything more.
It's also good to be verified in advance of meeting others IRL, on a reasonably spontaneous schedule. I have always felt safe meeting guys here and they deserve to have the same safety meeting up!
