It's the final hours of 2018, so let me give props and thanks to all of you for sticking around another year. I don't post much, but so much is happening and when I do, I can't shut up! Here goes!
I have been activating extra abilities for certain users around the site. I think the term "moderator" is outdated, but now I can give people more specific powers, like move a forum thread or change something's gender setting or update the wiki. Their status is not exactly secret but some of them have not chosen be labeled as admin. I'm still accountable for 100% for all actions, so message me directly with any complaints!
Our Terms of Use has changed, especially in regard to privacy, arbitration, moderator guidelines, and uptime availability. I don't want to force everybody to reconfirm, but please have a look: https://umd.net/termsofservice
I am finally going to ban mention of certain tube sites on our forums in 2019 (not yet--official announcement will come later). At this point, any link to some of these sites is almost guaranteed to also have pirated content from fellow wam producers. Besides that, our anti-Piracy program has been phenomenally successful! Thanks to all who have submitted tips and helped to get thousands of stolen wam vids taken down.
Producers and models: I'm getting rid of FTP uploads. Thrash me! It has to go for security reasons, and for the integrity of the files. I have a new on-browser file uploader, so inbox me with any complaints about that. This is the first year that we've offered check as a payout option, so if you made more than $600, you may be recieving a 1099 from us; Otherwise you will not get one from us. See our FAQ on taxes or contact us with any questions. As for store content, I'll likely be phasing out content that includes a crowd of people in the background whose age can't reasonably be guaranteed, but I'll announce about that later.
UMD's own goals for 2019 center on stability on the inside, and fun on the outside. We now have multiple servers across the USA backing up and serving our content. In early January (exact date to be announced), we will have to go down for a day to switch traffic to a new main server. The rest of the year will be focused on hunkering down on privacy, working better on mobile, more security, backup billing processors, and new ways to pay our producers. I'll finally be installing a new chat with video that hopefully actually works on mobile.
As for Vegas 2019, I'm in. I will be there around May 2, again purely as a vacation, and I'd love to chill with you guys if you would come. I wouldn't call this an "official" gathering, as the next one might be on UMD's 25th. But as of right now I do personally like the idea of Vegas each year in early May. Yo Jeff MessyDreams, still trying to get that shark tank cabana? It seems like only last month that I was hangin on Fremont St. with MyPierogative, MikeNomic, DM1 and everybody!
I want to personally thank Potatoman-J, HHound, Soundguy, ItsJay, Bosunbob, Booth, Yamtree, Richard Trouso, Rob from Tainster, Penny, and the hundreds of others who have taken the time to help and give me advice. You are the reason we can keep keepin on.
I'm off to our favorite bar with Messmistress to ring in the new year. Everybody stay safe and I'll holla at yall in 2019!

Honestly I think a more aggressive approach in the form of a class action lawsuit against them is in order. But that's me.

This is a very smart CYA move here. Candid content from the occasional user that doesn't think and it gets flagged is one thing. However there is more than one producer who actually sells candid content here of individuals who have obviously not signed model releases or been carded for their age. I don't know they got this far with out some authority coming after them.

They always allowed some pretty extreme stuff and had to stop. Our TOS changes were relatively minor... We didn't have to start telling people that bloody choke rape porn is now off-limits.
I might trigger a confirmation at some point tho after I finish talking with our lawyers. 
Anyway, to fill yall in, the new server is almost ready.
Now we know it takes almost 2 months to completely download UMD's collection of content, server to server. We will hopefully be moving traffic to the new server around the beginning of February, but I'll keep you posted.
Year's off to a good start!
