This is a warning about not being laid back and trusting like me! So very long story short..
Paid in full, no deposit, 400 quid over two years ago to a session provider. Taken until recently to organise on their part.
One tank of gunge only, one full bucket of fresh gunge thrown and I, yes me had to supply the foam .this due to inflation?! and the cost of foam which could easily be shaving foam?! This as part of their top dollar service!!
Anyway, could I say I was ripped off That's for you to decide, my expectations may be too high?
I am not going to mention any people because:
I am sure things would have gone more smoothly if I was more forceful and determined but the world should not have to operate like that.
My advice is, just ensure you have in writing your expectations and what is being provided to the nearest inch of gunge. Do not pay in full as this can result in a then lazy attitude to your session with no rush to provide.
I am reaching an age where I am coming to the end of getting messy as things in life take over and this has just put a little downer on a few decades of getting messy BUT.
I had one of my best ever experiences in my life at a certain other provider and it is now available for download on their site. If you like lots of severe mess with a story line plus gear then I am sure you will like them!
Again I'm not going to divulge anymore on this as I do feel an element of this failure is my over trust in people.
This is just a warning to ensure you do not make the same mistake as me as I am sure all providers on here are excellent if they are managed by you correctly.
I've got to admit I am a little embarrassed in having to post this but I do not want to see anyone be disappointed, especially with a large amount during this difficult financial period.

Unfortunately there are a lot of posts like this. Messmaster has talked about the importance of contracts and getting things in writing and what not. If there is a custom provider that is not providing the community needs to know. They need to be named. So many people got scammed by Kaydens that could have possibly been prevented by people coming forward. There is also a whole group dedicated to customs that has a ton of tips and all kinds of information. If you are a regular on the site and/or have any kind of familiarity with how forums and searches work and you still get taken advantage of, that is on you. If you don't know or have questions post them! Make sure you are using an "approved" provider here, but even then be cautious. Kaydens was approved before she took money and ran.

These kind of posts, while intent is good, does not really do anything to help. Most people are smart (at least I like to think so) and have good radar when it comes to scams. Your post was really just stating you were potentially given poor service but that was subjective to you. Like a review, if you don't mention who then it doesn't help anyone make a decision on whether to render their services. Wish you well mate, I know it sucks because you had an expectation that wasn't met and I have those situations too. Not fun.

In this case I am pretty sure that if you are robust with them then things should be ok. This is why I do not want to name and shame, it's more a warning to others to not be laid back, as you will get run over!
Messages took nearly 3 months for a reply, I should have chased for that response within a week of no reply. And I think I would have got that reply..
The expectations in the amount of gunge was based around what was advertised so i paid a little more thinking the provider would take this into account and realise their own obligations as to what to provide.
It's abit difficult when your sat there after the first and only gunging and to shout out, where's the rest of it I paid for!!
Anyway, this was to warn the people on this planet who expect to be treated by others based around how they themselves treat others sometimes it does not work and you need to be commercially strict and in some cases may be commercially aggressive, to get what you want.
I'm happy that with this provider, if you set out the law at the beginning, chase and issue very detailed instructions then you won't have a problem.
My problem with this, I run a business in my non gunge world and my outlook towards customers is very different, I lead and guide them and it's me and my enthusiasm that guides the project not normally the client.

It does help because it's a reminder to people to stick to established WAM providers who are professional and have a good track record.

How many buckets were used in filling the gunge tank? Standard gunge made from powder is about £5 per bucket cost price. And all WAM supplies have gone up in cost significantly over the last couple of years, plus heating a dungeon now costs massively more than it did.
TBH taking 2 years from payment to event does seem a crazy long delay. When we do customs we promise to shoot within 3 months of deposit paid or scene is cancelled and deposit is refunded.
Agree with others that it probably is a good idea to have the exact quantity of gunge to be used specified in the contract, especially now that messy ingredients have shot up so much in price.
And while totally understand not naming and shaming, can I suggest you let MM know privately who this was, for record purposes.

Ironically I was a ships engineer and I have dealt with two engineroom floodings!
My point being with this post..
I am fairly happy that with this particular provider of gunge experiences, if you are strict, very detailed in your requirements and are robust with your dealings then you won't have an issue.
This is a warning to people like me who are a little more laid back, expect the provider to be enthusiastic about your visit and to run with your ideas and to drive the session.
I think in my case this lack of robustness from me, resulted in a very lazy session provider and as they had been paid in full there was then no rush or inclination to provide
Don't do what I did and I am pretty certain you will be fine.

Yup. I used to be a big fan of hers until she decided to do that sort of thing. Wasn't right for her to do that at all.

I am a member of a fetish community and they are a commercial business offering a service to this community.

As there seems to be some confusion, this is about an experience not a custom.
So, paid in full September 2021, two years ago. Paid 400 quid which was more than their platinum experience at the time. Was not really interested in the game show element or even being filmed, this was about the volume of gunge. The platinum looked to offer a lot of gunge plus we had the storm. Longest between messages, 6 months. Finally decided enough was enough and said I wanted a full refund. This for some reason opened up the dialogue again. After a few messages things back to normal and a date this week was confirmed. In one message foam was discussed, answer was too expensive so I took my own for the 400 quid budget. Finally went, one overhead gunge release, one full bucket of fresh and one recycled gunge bucket thrown plus my foam. As this was a very special experience then that is why is cost me more!?
From their latest rates, a go in the gunge tank is 85.00 , this means the extra bucket cost me £325.00 !!
This is going to do either two things:
Either we find out this has happened before which I really hope is not the case or please post your positive experiences to prove me wrong.
This may have just been a blimp with me or they don't like full wetsuits!
I won't asked for any refund, they can accept they made a very easy 400 quid and they can reinvest it back into their gunge tank.I do not want the hassle.
Again, I own a business and when a client gives me a budget to solve a problem I will go above and beyond to solve that problem, I run with their needs. My problem in this case , I wanted to be covered in lots of gunge!

As Dungeon Master says, that's a lot of money for Gunge. Even £5 is a lot per bucket at cost price and would be nearer to £2 to £3 if bought in bulk.
We never skimped on Gunge with our sessions nor time. We dedicated an afternoon or evening to the session and most times we carried on until the Gungee had had enough. With our Gunge Tank we also used to recycle the gunge so it could be used over and over, even with that in mind we'd often mix up 15 to 20 buckets for a session. The only time we charged more was if the Gungee wanted food such as beans or rice pudding in the Tank !!

People get mad at me if I don't respond to emails about a custom. I don't get that. If I'm not responding it means I don't have the time to take it.

There isn’t a mess I don’t love!
The struggle of a customer. Producers never do the content you want or they make up excuses on why they cant happen. And when you try to ask for a custom, you cant trust anyone to do them because producers are either too busy or you get a scammer.
