Don't know if anybody else saw tonight's episode, but there was reference to WAM and one particular individual who seemed to be like an English version of Ant (the nutjob one, not the nice ones who started posting recently.) I say English based on the fact that he tweeted Eamonn Holmes. The kind of guy who continually bombards female celebrities with requests to get gunged 'for charity' and also has a fascination with women wearing jeans (tight ones for preference.) Thankfully Dave Gorman takes it all in stride and is more bemused by the idiot person than the fetish itself...
It's a worry the guy is able to roam unfettered on Twitter, his feed is actually quite scary. The harassment is dreadful (11,000+ tweets in a year). He tweets the same female 'celebs' constantly, bombarding them with the same stuff phrased differently ("Do you like gunge/Would you be gunge (sic) for charity/would you be gunge in jeans" - he seems incapable of writing 'gunged' as opposed to 'gunge' much of the time), his spelling & phraseology are dreadful, punctuation non-existent & he so rarely gets a reply you almost wonder what the thought process is behind doing it at all, certainly to the extent he does. It truly does feel like you're looking into the mind of someone not altogether there....
I agree, Dave Gorman did rather a cool job with it. It was nice to see Wam defined on mainstream tv in the way he did, basically showing the Wikipedia definition & pointing out is was a real fetish, one of very many (& alluding that different people could get turned on by an incredible variety of vastly different things, some common-or-garden, some more outlandish). And not mocking or knocking it.
Having said all that, i WAS kinda hoping he'd throw in a skit where Emma Bunton did get gunged, lol!!!
Yep I saw this too - thought Dave Gorman handled the topic quite well, but the tweeter's insistent mythering of celebs to get gunged is just creepy and gives the rest of us a bad name. Keep it at home fella, not out there in social media land.
Incidentaly, the Wiki page he showed for WAM was what I stumbled upon and had my epiphany in realising this was actually a "thing"!

There is a post of mine in this section where i went mad about a guy who was harrasing my friend (forcing her to leave Twitter as it was really upsetting her), and i suspect, this guy, is basically the same guy with a slightly different name, he's a dick, either mentally retarded of just completely nuts. Same questions, same spelling, same tweets to the same female celebs with the same crap each time. If it's the same guy, i'd like to meet him in person, i have a few choice words i'd like to put together for him, actually, just two, two words, last one begins with an 'O' first with an 'F' - amazing to think this dude has been noticed like that
