Regarding WAM and Dry skin Issues or sensitivities - Just curious what folks here have experienced with WAM and it's after effects on the skin. For those who would know, is it the WAM substances themselves that tend to cause issues, or the methods/soaps used to clean up after like Dawn Dish Detergent?
Does anyone follow a Moisturizing routine to restore their skin after a WAM session? or just in general?
Are there any substances you've found that Moisturize the skin themselves?
It came to mind, because a good friend of mine I've wammed with in the past, recently spoke to a dermatologist and was told her soap has been stripping her skin of natural oils and moisture and after a while has caused her to experience "nummular dermatitis" It's treatable thankfully, and it's not going to be an issue until it's been dealt with, but I'm also curious how any future WAM activities and cleaning up after might affect her skin in the future/going forward.
Just looking for some information or better advice from those with lots of experiences. Thanks.
Coconut oil, oatmeal, matcha powder, probably could help skin issues I've used them or well I've used them to get my wife messy She had skin issues too
Highly advise using lotion and moisturizers days prior. Best pro tip I am aware of is conditioning hair right before as well if those are also concern.
I mainly do mud, and it actually makes my skin feel smoother. The big thing is getting mud with coarse enough dirt or rocks. That will scratch you up pretty quickly. As for cleanup, mud is water soluble so a long shower is usually sufficient.
