As a third generation military "brat" and a veteran of two different branches of the military, Army and Navy, I want to thank the veterans on here for their outstanding service to our great country!
I've had the privilege of meeting some amazing people in the military from enlisted men and women in the Navy to the Chief of Naval Operations (4 star Admiral) back in 1995 to enlisted men and women in the Army, to officers, to another 4 star General in Afghanistan (Chief of Staff) in 2008.
It does not matter whether you were enlisted or an officer, we all have one thing in common. We volunteered to serve our country and we made sacrifices that others do not. I do not have the time to go through all of the sacrifice we have made but again, I say THANK YOU for your great service!!
I've also had the privilege of being around the Air Force (AFJROTC in High School) to being in a USMC Reserve unit in 1990, as well having a father who was in the Marines for twenty years. So my life has been surrounded by the military.
Job well done and Bravo Zulu to those wammers on here who have served our great country!!!
11 1/2 year USAF veteran here and I just like to say that yes, I served my country and to me, that means that I served to protect the Constitution of the United States and the laws which protect ALL people who were created equal, and not a president, party or ideology.
It seems people forget that.
And while I'm on my little soapbox, and thank you ChuckSM for providing it "supporting the troops" does not mean supporting endless wars for profit that do nothing more than destroy our trust and leadership in the free world, not to mention the lives of millions of people including our very youngest, bravest and finest.
I fear for where we are headed as a nation these days. Thanks for listening!
