I was just notified by the Site owner that I will have to give them a govt issued photo ID in order to move or post new pics.....not sure you have heard this yet, but its coming according them them in a site message. I refuse to give this or any other web site a copy of my Gov't issued Drivers License or Passport info to them and I am not even a paying member. The site Owner says it has something to do with Mastercard requirements. What a shame when a 3rd party company can come in and dictate the site owners what the requirements are for people posting pictures or for that matter, just moving them around. I for one am not going to bend backwards and let them do it to me....i would rather delete my profile then to have them run my life. Kim Mac
This is going to be the new standard for any site that lets you upload adult images - and on the plus side it'll put a massive crimp in piracy and revenge porn if no-one can upload content without first verifying who they are. Granted some will try and use fake ID, but that shifts the responsibility firmly to them, rather than the site owner or the rest of the legit users.
Blame the arseholes and dickheads who upoloaded rape videos, child abuse, underage models, pirated scenes, and all the rest of the garbage, and the big sites that did nothing to try and stop the abuses till way too late, for this clampdown from the financial companies.
Personally I trust MM, way more than I trust the likes of Facebook. This has applied to store owners for a while, I uploaded a scan of my passport back in the Spring. Just like in traditional business, there's a responsibility nowadays for a business owner to make sure they know who their customers and busines partners really are.

You're not wrong, and yeah it's shit. But DM1 indicated all the reasons why it's happening. I know MM personally, and I know this isn't something he's happy about at all see below.
But these card companies are A. Businesses B. Monopolies C. Lobbyists
Make no mistake, they don't actually care about the revenge porn, the child porn or anything else. There's no moral center to a business. They care about the publicity and liability it brings. And those things cost money, and eat into profits.
I am in the UK and currently in limbo as since this requirement came in my driving licence is currently away for renewal. So I am unable to upload to my regular wetlook albums even though the pics involved are not sexually explicit. What I am unclear about is will my driving licence suffice for my verification as I have no passport these days. My only other form of id would be my birth certificate.
The requirement is government-issued photo-ID, so a UK driving license will I think suffice for that, though a birth certificate won't as there's no photo (and even if there was, it'd be of a newborn baby).
To be honest, I don't really have a problem with the idea that to be able to upload images to an adult entertainment website - and regardless of whether images are explicit or not (99% of ours are totally PG), this is an adult site, people come here for sexual arousal purposes - they have to prove who they are. I get that it's potentially an issue for people who are still in the closet about their kink interests worried about hacking, but at least here it's kept securely, note MM specifically states the ID data is stored off-line - i.e. it's not sitting about in the back-end UMD database where a potential hacker could get it, but instead moved to a separate system that is not connected to the Internet.
I have no intention of uploading such personal details so I will just stop posting. I am not even trying to post 'explicit' content , just a few pics of wet guys.
Interesting. That would mean No StickyTara return then
I totally support MM and his moves to comply with the regulations, and make the web a safer place.
But... I do not agree with the slow erosion of our identities and data. I would never upload my passport, driving licence or similar to any website.
For instance, under no circumstance ever, would I get a Covid passport. I didn't want the Covid jabs, but they were effectively forced upon me to continue our lives ( I am not an anti-vac person I should add, it's just my choice - I HATE injections). Anyway, different story.
Is this a worldwide thing or just the US then?
Just waiting for a Government tracking chip to arrive through the post for me to swallow (Then again, swallowed worse :love

Worldwide.
Basically what happened was there was a huge public furore a couple of years back about the amount of outright illegal content PH was hosting - not just pirated stuff but actual rape videos and worse, some of which was said to be actual child abuse. Eventually, the credit card associations said "no more" and pulled the plug on processing payments for PH. And then started investigating the adult industry in general. Now, they are imposing rules that before anyone can upload images to adult sites that they process payments for, the site must verify the identity of the uploader - so there's a proper audit trail if it turns out something is dodgy. This will apply to any site anywhere that accepts card payments.
Yes, it's an erosion of privacy, but on the plus side it's an absolute hammerblow against casual piracy.
As to vaccine passports, if you've had the jabs all the data is already present, all the app does is show the barcode to prove it. Many other countries won't let people in without them, the US has just announced it'll allow double-jabbed tourists from November. Given its less than 2 years now to UMD 25 in Las Vegas, was very glad to hear that on the news this week.
I personally don't feel comfortable handing over my ID i'm sure that this law may differ for a uk citizen such as myself but i understand this is a USA run website. I Know umd owner's and mod's won't be to happy with this either but their stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I will be disappointed that i no longer will be able to share my messy session's with you all but i will stay for the community as it is a place where i can discuss my fetish with similar minded people.
hopefully this wont be a long lasting process as having a fetish is a private thing for most people i know for me i get very anxious about privacy. (hence why my face in any pictures i shared was blacked out)
i just loved being creative with my session's and sharing that with you all i have never posted explicit content as i never felt comfortable to and i never would have shared any of this type of content. i'm just sad i've lost the ability to express my creativity and real love of the splosh fetish
Im in the UK To i for one aint giving out info now just to upload pics to my own page when im certainly not selling them of me. guess its no more uploading my own self shots of my indulgence of me getting soaking wet, maybe the end of days here then maybe looking in to setting up a site from the uk here just to enjoy sharing wet fun pics with others you love a good soaking to.
And some good news, seems ID will not be required for non-explicit photo uploads for now, but instead everything has to be moderated before going live, MM's just made an announcement:

Unfortunately the law doesn't have much to do with this, or else our own Section 230 law states that content shouldn't have to be moderated as long as we show due diligence in removing the bad stuff, which we do. But the credit card companies can make any additional rules they want, and those rules are worldwide.
Just posted an update explaining that instead of requiring photo ID's, the task has been shifted to UMD to pre-approve images before they are released. If explicit, you'll have to be verified though, even for pics in your galleries going forward. https://umd.net/forums/update-on-photo-ids
I started this forum because i thought it was wrong for us to "have" to download our Federal IDs, i.e. Drivers License or Passport just to post some non sexual or tempting pics for others and I do agree with that part of the law that MessMaster (site owner) has stated about those pics.
I have had a lot of back and forth messages with MM regarding questions and comments to this new law and I am understanding his position and we should not be upset with MM as much as our own Gov't for allowing Mastercard (or I am sure other credit companies to come). After our many back and forth conversations, I am personally feeling more comfortable and I know that the information we give MM will be with him only, and not in the hands of other non site like companies or entities....So at this moment, I can honestly say I am not sure I am ready to share this info, but I will strongly consider downloading my information, just because i strongly see MM as a very good person and honest. I figure after being in this site for over 23 years, I own MM my support and appreciate his devotion to making us happy and taking care of our fetish needs by this GREAT site. Thank you MM and all for listening to me! Kim

As Sticky Tits said "Is this a worldwide thing or just the US then?"
RE- vaccinations and ID for MM
Answer - Sadly it is a world wide thing
Part 1 international travel
People now wishing to travel to Australia and other countries now have to prove they have had at least one dose of a Government approved vaccine. To be allowed to enter some countries from overseas. Australia has a very strict Immigration Act/laws if NOT vaccinated you MUST do 14 days Isolation Quarantine under government Act. If entering Australia and had a least 2 doses of a Government approved vaccine. If fully vaccinated then free to enter upon having a negative COVID swab taken at least a few days before departure and again entering Australia. (This may/will change as vax numbers increase - based on current national vax numbers and state laws as at October 2021and when international fights resume).
Part 2 online ID.
Online ID, has been around on some sites, apart from UMD, for a number of years, requiring some form of ID to join websites. Most sites, like UMD, just require an email address while others require formal hard ID like drivers licenses etc. MM is now under section 230 in some part required to ask for formal ID by some site uses. This mainly has to with upload / downloaded content mainly from Producers and production teams using UMD as a platform. Thou this may extend to purchases (uploads/downloads) as well, and viewing some online content, which has already been applied to some other websites.
