The dress was a must-buy for the collection the moment I first saw it - a charity shop find - and Maude wore it absolutely beautifully. She's previously been water-bucketed while wearing it, and it's been worn in the mess too.
Honeysuckle once had a very smart long lilac skirt - part of a suit - first split, and then start to fall apart, while she was wearing it in the mud - we just carried on, and binned it afterwards.
A rainwear jacket used in a custard scene never fully washed out despite multiple washes in the machine and started to reek of off-custard. That also went in the bin. Of all the things you'd expect not to be harmed by mess, waterproofs would be near the top of the list, so that was very odd. It was a proper brand-name one bought from a charity shop in the Lake District too, wheras our no-brand cheap ones bought from workwear places survive multiple messings just fine.
In the very early days, Lady Jasmine wore a Country Casuals smart long pleated skirt and riding boots into the estate river. Again the skirt being something that, given they're sold to country people, you'd think would be hard wearing. But it totally lost its shape and the pleats all went wrong when washed. Only time it's turned out that dry clean only actually mattered - usually we just machine wash stuff and it's fine, including wedding dresses.

I appreciate when people reply to posts, makes it more of a conversation rather than just an ad-parade.
Maude is slim, UK 8-10, and very athletic with it. Bet it's fun though, having clothes cut off isn't something I've ever done myself, but can imagine how it feels as material is cut away.
