Ok, up until a few years back, my typical Saturday was going out with my friends to the neighborhood punk rock bar, seeing a crazy show, hanging out in the pizzeria till the wee hours, just having a great time. Then they started bringing crotch spawn into the world, and I turned 40.

I'm starting to really miss those days....last night's entertainment was cream soda, Godzilla's Revenge on cable, and in the sack by midnight.

Is this the age where I'm supposed to wear a sensible outfit and listen to the adult contemporary station? Man, this sucks!

Do what you want to do; you are in control of your life, no one else.

If you live by how you think society wants you to be, you are not in control.
You live how your friends what you to be, you are not choosing for yourself.
If you want to sit on the couch and do nothing, then do it, it's your choice.

But don't complain about choosing to sit on the couch when you want to be doing something else. Only you can make that change, no one else can do it for you.

Want to go with someone, find someone. Age is no barrier. I am 40, I turned polyamorous, retrained my entire profession, taken up running. Why? Because only I can change me into who I want to be.

(Sorry, heavy, but you caught me at a very self reflective moment. I am selling things that are suddenly transitional object that I didn't know I had!)

Oh to be 40 again.

I've been in denial of my age since I turned 23. All things are possible with denial!
