Hey, I'm reeeeally interested to know whether anyone has had the wonderful subject of wam / gunge / pies / slapstick etc come up during 'regular' conversations with friends, family, colleagues. Recently, I was talking with friends about various celebrities and Dave Benson Phillips cropped up. Names like DBP and Noel Edmonds automatically send my mind towards the gunk dunk or gunge tank, but on this occasion it was someone else who brought it up, explaining who he was and what GYOB was all about. The thought crossed my mind - what if they're a secret wammer and they have more courage than me to raise it in a normal conversation. Or also appreciating that people can have conversations about gunge and mess without it being taboo or without any sexual context being included?! I wondered if anyone else had similar experiences and what they're reaction was?
Yeah a few times. TV shows always seem to be the way in, then occasionally someone will say they always wanted to get gunged! Queue turning red!
Pie fights seem to be the next most common due to the fun chaotic nature.
Most of my friends know about my Kink now and I am open enough so accidental conversations rarely happen, just the odd good natured teasing or even "Saw this and thought of you" with amazon/ebay link attached.

This, I remember back when Nickelodeon afternoons were still a thing and sometimes traveled around with live shows. I remember quite a few college girls that went to one near me because they always wanted to be slimed as a kid.
The thing to remember with WAM-muggles (a great term BTW) is that for them it's not really a kink or a fetish so much as just a new experience. So you just need to be wary of that if it comes up in conversation. A lot of people will find it "fun", but very few will find it "hot".

I think much of that is context. If you're in front of a group of people being covered in slime isn't going to be very sexy. If your partner starts rubbing custard all over your body and starts sliding up and down, that might elicit a different reaction.
I do have a line on one dating profile about "couples' mudwrestling", partly just to see if anyone actually reads the thing, but mostly to try to find someone who'll say, "Oh, that might be fun."
I know (from wrestling Ari and Miss Kay-O at the Moomin's party back in September) it could be incredibly fun, and probably even more fun if I could throw caution to the wind with regard to where I'm putting my hands.

That'd probably be a good thread in and of itself, nods to WAM in dating profiles.
