Have any of my fellow friends that play in mud gotten Swimmers Ear before? I've been battling it with drops from the doctor since over a month ago. It's really gross and there's fluid in my ear. The drops don't seem to be working. I need advice.
If it hasn't gone away after a month, a trip back to the doctor may be in order to get some antibiotics (if there is a bacterial infection). In the future, use white vinegar or rubbing alcohol to break up surface tension and get water out of the ear canal before it becomes an issue (experience from river water in the ears due to whitewater kayaking).
Your regular doctor or an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat specialist)? If the former, than get a get a referral for the latter. If the latter, than maybe get a second opinion. It's not something to trifle with.
Good Luck and I hope you feel better and get it taken care of. If I feel water trapped in my ear for a few days I use rubbing alcohol to evaporate it before it becomes an issue. I'd go back to the doctor at this point and get it taken care of ASAP.
