Lottie and Miss Abigail have volunteered to read the Slymsford News and Weather, with a lucky viewer providing the visuals, to save money on location filming. In true Buff films / Splosh style, news stories about clowns, and lorry loads of syrup and treacle overturning, among others, and weather events involving rain and even mud slides, cause our presenters to be pied, syruped, treacled, sprayed with gunge, trifled and so much more. They really enjoy the messy fun that you, the viewer, are causing them to receive. They even throw in some JOI to say thanks.
The facial expressions, well those you can see, are wonderful! Two lovely girls having fun, knowing their fate is going to mean destruction of their outfits.
I love Miss Abigail - her enthusiasm for every scene she appears in and love of getting messy really comes across She's definitely someone I'd like to glam up and mess up in the future. She really delivers in this scene - taking that first pie square in the face really sets the tone
Lottie deserves her credit too, and I particularly enjoyed the cream and trifle coverage right at the end
The newsreader scene is always one of my favorites-- going back to the early years of Splosh. I remember having a clip tape (yes, VHS) I got from WAMTEC back in the 1990s and it had a newsreader sketch on it. But the newsreader was a bearded guy giving a weather report and he sploshed a brunette (don't know her name-- she was in later Splosh or WSM movies). Anyway, I have loved the concept ever since.
EG: Yes, I would put Miss Abigail into a category with Cherry of models who seem to criminally overlooked on the 'best wam models' category. I am not sure why but in any event, I will always look to book her for as long as she wants to film, as she's just wonderful. I do think she would really suit one of your scenes. If I can book her in for one of my 2 remaining shoot weekends this year, I will let you know
CKCP: That's right! I remember it well. The fantastic customer who commissioned these scenes was also influenced by, I believe, that scene and certainly other similar ones such as a Buff one where Davina reads the news in one of the Buff films, and yet another one that I forget.
In the one you are thinking of, the male character (I can't remember if it's Professor Treacle or not) keeps talking about "more mud in the hilly areas" when he sploshes the girl's chest, if memory serves . I think that one is a WSM scene, and so it probably is Professor T.
Update: CKCP: This is the scene that I think you mean....have a look at the screengrabs at the bottom. It is Professor Treacle. It's a WSM classic. Thank goodness they are still going strong.
It's fantastic in any event...and this scene very much pays homage to those ones, especially the Buff ones in the sense that the newsreader or readers initially don't react to the mess, and then over time start enjoying it.
It's a delight making this customer's series of films, and I hope we'll do many more
About the most faithful Splosh! news reader spoof (a la Rachel/Davina) I've seen. Impeccable performances from La Lay and Abigail.
You will get 'that feeling' and all its conglomorated messes from this video. I mean nostalgia, of course. Although the custard flavour might possibly be non-canon the writing is as cringemakingly witty as the late Sir William of Shipton himself.

That is it!! Great find. I love these old WAM films-- production isn't always the best but the spirit is there.
Trouso: Thanks so much for that incredible review. It's really kind. I totally agree that Abi and Lottie totally nailed the performance / reactions etc. I am really pleased that you feel we were able to get that Buff / WSM spirit.
CKCP: You are welcome. That was a fave of mine too. I really hope you had a chance to see the Buff newsreader skits that Trouso mentions, before they were withdrawn from sale after Bill's untimely passing.
Get Em Down (and Trouso): You may enjoy the other scene in the series, with Faerie Willow
