Thank you for slopping it up with UMD for a whole nother year. Despite the world seeming to collapse around us, we seem more together more than ever. More and more people including myself consider this place an oasis to escape to when the world is just too much. We are a wam site but have become way more than that. It's really true that you come for the wam and stay for the friends. I know I have.
I've come to understand that a lot of new folks don't really know what the UMD is or who I am, so I'll introduce myself. Hi, I'm Messmaster from Philly. Nice to meet you! I started this site around 27 years ago in college as a personal links site for my own discoveries on the internet. With the unprompted support and encouragement of like-minded people, I still get to run it today. The UMD is still a totally independent web site and that's only possible because of the the self-reliance of the wonderful community that has emerged. It's the best in the world! Through a lot of hard work together we've proven that messy, organized chaos eventually leads to greater alignment and a more delightful experience for all. It's what allows this party to rock on, and it really is a party. I'm still your DJ, the mods your MC's, and the vibe is still the whole point!
Instead of embracing toxicity and dismissiveness, we have become really good at engaging in hard but meaningful debate that propels us forward, privately and publicly. We are getting better at not allowing ourselves to be gaslit by chaos agents who either have something to prove or just want to drive us apart, and that skill will be super important next year. We have always naturally rejected bigotry, racism, transphobia, ad hominem attacks, and disinformation--even when delivered under the guise of political opinion or free speech. We don't even allow people to be mean to each other on here! As hate in the world escalates, next year will definitely challenge our commitment to the principles we have refined over the years, but I know we're ready.
Next year will also be difficult given the American government's renewed war on adult content. Our approach remains to follow all international laws and keep us legal while refusing to compromise our integrity or divulge user information. Still, we'll likely have to conform to some new laws and policies that won't be fair. Some states in the USA may force us to restrict access and require you to use an age verification service to get through. As with all these types of situations, I will be making announcements and working with you as these things develop and we learn more.
For next year my goal for the UMD is to increase stability and maintain our independence. As some know, we are privately hosted now, so we're insulated from arbitrary hosting policies and associated attacks. This year we're looking to expand our server presence into other areas for extra speed and redundancy. As always I'll continue working on redundancy for our billing and payout options. We are also working on a private AI server which will allow advances in security, content moderation, and other things without farming anybody's data out to a 3rd party. We'll call it Carmella.
I know I don't post much but that's because I don't consider myself the center of gravity. I'm just the developer who is happy putting in the work and seeing happy people as a result. As I start my own 50th trip around the sun, know that I'm still here with you on the backend, and having a blast too! This is still very much my personal passion. Despite the coming World War III and alien invasion, my excitement for the UMD and its community has never been higher, and my commitment to our safe space never greater.
This is ours. We built it and we owe nothing to anyone. We are one of the last truly independent web sites not beholden to investors or stock holders or ulterior motives. We have no agenda other than to promote peace, love, and lots of grease! So to everybody from the UMD newbies to the OG's: Beer is in the fridge and the messy dungeon is in the basement. Let's party on in 2025!
In Asian Culture the number 4 means Death! So I am glad 24 is behind us. 25 is a good number, so may your sorrows be gone and 2025 be an Awesome Muddy/Messy year.
Time has been so difficult to track for me post-pandemic, so I don't remember if past drama was last year or several years ago (I just checked, the one I'm thinking of was APRIL, jeez), but while it ain't always perfect, I'm glad this site exists, that we can find like-minded people, and that the community generally has been pretty friendly, at least to me.
There's an abundance of hate out there on the wider Internet, and while sometimes things can get nasty here when hot button issues are under discussion (or when the trolls come out from under the bridge [cue the Red Hot Chili Peppers]), I do really appreciate that as a Queer person I can be myself within my niche interests.
I get that my position isn't universal and that there's always more work to be done, but still, being reflective this morning, I'm glad these opportunities exist, imperfect though they sometimes are.
Great to read about your objectives looking forward, Messmaster, and the ethos of the site. It's my happy place and a big "Thank You" is due to you and all the moderators for all the continued hard work you do. Happy 2025. Peter
Here here! And I know personally my wife and I agreed 25 will be the year of more kink and more pie hopefully I can share some of our adventures. Happy New Year!
Thank you for continuing to facilitate this site. You are right that for the most part, we are free of needless rowing, hate and bigotry and can feel safe in expressing our particular kinks and characters. I vastly prefer this and a couple of other niche spaces to the wild west shouting match of mainstream social media.
Here's hoping that the fear mongers making some of these laws will not impact us too much. I guarantee you most of these law makers found a Playboy at a young age and they turned out good according to their standards.
I am curious about this AI. How will it learn? A LOT of the AI I have seen put in place on various sites is not very good at learning what is and is not harmful speech. Is there a list of words that if found it will flag the posts? Or is it more of key phrases? How will the AI improve the security of the site?
I thank you MM for your continued service to give us a safe platform for us to enjoy this WAM site that we all have loved for nearly 30 years now.
You're an inspiration to me as another POC (hate using that term and the first and last time that i use it!! LOL). As i still remember feeling very alone with WAM when i first found this this site.
But also happy that another person with the same colour as me enjoyed this as well - as it's still very limited that you find that regarding WAM sadly (men & woman) .
Having met you in the flesh a few times as well over the years. You're a good person and i'm happy to have you as a fellow lover of WAM and wishing you and Ms MM a great 2025 (hopefully see you sometime during the year too!!) .
UMD has been nothing but an important life line to me in my hours or need and fantasy. I just wanted to congratulate MM on a successful and wonderous project over the years and may it continue another quarter century.
I'm happy I found this site. It's nice to have a community where there's something for everyone. I've discovered so many incredible slime videos which I wouldn't have otherwise seen or known existed. Here's to fun and messy 2025!

Gotta be careful with 7s (also death) and 9s (destruction) then too I think 8 is actually the big lucky number in most Asian cultures, definitely Japan.
I'm hoping and praying this year that most of us can touch more grass and unplug from the matrix that is social media and all the bullshit spoonfed to us on a daily basis. Encourage and nurture real relationships (I want to see so many of you again and meet more of you this year I hope!).
I'm also praying for a lot of peace, grace, and relief for us on personal levels. There has been a lot of pain and suffering individually for a lot of us this past year. I'm hoping this can be a year of healing.

I started the year with my account being disabled on instagram for posting too much artwork! Might have been the 6.25hrs of life drawing I did with an online session.
I am not an AI! I am a human being!
Purchased a photo set off Melonie Nosha and did some life drawing practice. Purchased some of her videos from here as a thank you to her.
Just discovered that post MM, Happy New year to you too! Thanks for all the work you and the moderators put in to make this place what it is. Wow you started 27 years ago ... when I look into my profile it see I'm on here for 26 and a half years UMD has been - and is - a cornerstone of my life. It'S one of the pages I open on a regular basis over all that time.
My wet and messy passion is not my main occupation - far from it - so I cannot follow each and every discussion - also far from it. But I admire the resilience of this community and its capability of finding common ground. Scientists should study it as an example for how online communities can work in a very positive way over a long time. Moderation is a big part of that.
Oh and happy 50th trip around the sun my friend. It looks like we share more than only our WAM passion
