I received an email today from a student doing a film about fetishes for his final graduation year at the USW wanting to know "what sploshing was" and wanted to do a phone interview, I'm guessing he actually wants to talk to a genuine Splosher to count towards his work otherwise he could just google it! In fact a google search suggest he is genuine although I'm always cautious when it comes to these things as I'm worried about how us Wammers would be portrayed , I was ask to do an magazine interview in the late 90's which I turned down on the other hand it would be good to spread the word, so to speak. Thoughts?
My advice would be to protect your identity. If you can remain completely anonymous, I don't think it would be a bad thing. Also, if you're already out on the subject, then it may not matter if you don't remain anonymous.
Regardless of their spin on the subject, I don't think exposure to sploshing is ever a bad thing. Even if they are making fun of it, someone who thinks its hot would simply disagree with them - and probably find this community afterwards.
I have done a number of interviews and am always willing to talk on the subject. I don't see any harm in it, the paper/article will be what it is so the more information they can get, the better it will be. If you don't want to talk to him I would be happy too.
I agree with protecting your identity though, if there could be a damaging event of it becoming public.
