I mean, there may be scenes you filmed while you were just learning? Or simply because no one bought them? Maybe now you look at them and you're like "Well, that sucked!"?

Virtually every "custom" we ever shot. I would NEVER do customs again. The only custom we ever shot I liked was one where the "custom requestee" let me me turn his custom into something I wanted to do anyway.

There were actually half a dozen customs we shot that I never...and would never release because they didn't fit in with the entire WLP concept. (Yes, there was a concept).

I learned to despise customs. They took up time and energy from what I really wanted to create in terms of videos.

Shot a shaving cream pie scene years back and the model had a rather bad reaction. Her eyes burned and her face turned bright red from some kind of reaction to the shaving cream and took days to go away. Now I tell all of my models to put a bit of shaving cream on their face before the shoot to make sure there won't be any reaction. I also only buy the sensitive skin Barbasol now.

Also years back when I first started shooting pie scenes I though it would be a great idea to get a real store-bought pie. She smashed it in her face with zero coverage.

I echo RobbyWLP - because my experiences when I was making custom videos from 1995 to 2005 is that the final results always seemed to follow a weird illogical outcome.....i.e..

... the more effort I put into making a custom video....i.e. not injecting my own ideas and following the custom sponsors script to the letter....the harder I tried....the more the customer seemed to hate the final product and they were unhappy....conversely...

....the less effort I made to follow a customers script, and the more changes I made to inject my own ideas on what would work best.....the more the customer seemed to love what we did, despite the fact that I only loosely followed their original script.

The harder I tried to follow a custom script....the more I failed, and the customer hated it.....and the more I used my own poetic license, the more the custom sponsor seemed to love my changes and did not seem to mind that I barely followed their script.

But I used to try my best to scare away custom sponsors, because when they would send me their scripts I used to do a cost analysis of how many girls and pies they wanted and what props they wanted in their scripts....and I remember some crazy scripts sponsors sent me that...

- wanted to do a recreation of "The Great Race" pie scene
- wanted 100 pies on a table and a helicopter to fly over and blow the pies in the wind
- asked me to rent a school bus and have 20 girls on a bus having a pie fight
- wanted me to stage a McClintock style mass mud fight....

I would say..."fine.....have you got 25K to 30K to finance your script"....and they ran for the hills when I told them that they script cannot be done for $100 they were offering.

I quit doing custom videos after 2005....and today the best advice I can give anybody who wants a custom video is.....find a girlfriend and use your iPhone...and do it yourself.

Getting the iphone is the easy part. Much harder finding someone who even wants to spend time with me let alone date me and make messy videos.

I've never regretted making a WAM scene.

Producing my own WAM films is one of things in life that make me feel truly alive.

I've done my best with the very few customs I've taken on but I must admit I don't particularly enjoy making them and so usually turn them down.

I can't imagine the experiences Robby and wamtec went through.

But I do have an idea: for 200 bucks let's get a Beech Baron from Schaumburg Airport and have it fly over an outdoor mud shoot and....

and pretend with some clever editing it was a full-sized helicopter?

I've found and make videos with 2 people on KinkD lol. Give that a try, but be up front about what you want, and only contact girls who make it clear in their profile they're not on there to find a relationship, just a "good time" or to make some quick bucks. I wouldn't recommend selling or sharing the videos though. There's paperwork and crap to fill out. Just do it for your own personal use.

This is ludicrous, but I mean.... There's a 3-month thread right now where a variety of people are trying REALLY hard to replicate the Glenn Close scene from A Movie They Name But I Don't and that budget is gonna be north of $10K once they're done. BUT they're pooling their resources, so.... Godspeed?

The lure of mainstream scenes (actual budget, actual locations, huge cast) coupled with the sensibility of one WAMmer in a small room with a camera (AKA almost every WAM shoot ever) is a powerful combo, still.... and just as unattainable as ever.

I rarely do customs for the reasons mentioned above. I had a memorable exchange where a customer asked for a custom with Toshia.... who hadn't shot a scene in almost 10 years at that point. When I told him that wasn't possible (due to the 10-year thing), he immediately followed up with a model who hadn't shot with me in THIRTEEN years.

At the same time, once in a while I get a good custom request and things go swimmingly. Sometimes the super complicated ones actually spur me to do something a little better. Anyone who enjoyed the epic (??) Breana-as-Wonder-Woman scene from a few years back can thank one very dedicated customer and his VERY elaborate script that I followed, almost to the letter. (He paid me quite well too.)

So yeah, customs are a pain, except when they aren't. I choose the ones that aren't.

Speaking not as a producer, but as a custom requester, (a custom customer? ) I think its so important to tailor your script to the producer.

I wouldn't ask Rich for something with nudity. I wouldn't ask MG for an outdoor scene. (They do them, but its rare.) I wouldn't ask Jayce for heavy special effects. And so on.

If you do, it will just lead to disappointment in that it probably won't get made.

I go to people that I like and ask them to make more of what I like or emphasize the main points of what I like.

I just wish there were more producers who can make what I like at a reasonable price.

This, so much. This is the first year I've been really going for it on customs (it would have been last year but ...y'know) and by now I have lots of different scenes I want to try to make and ALL of them are geared to specific producers. Like one scene I just found out can't be done right now for logistics reasons - that is on permanent hold as there is NO other producer who can do it for me.

But I know who does what and what their areas are best for / suited to before I even approach them.

Ever heard of my longtine partner Lenny.....he was not exactly a Brad Pitt lookalike, but he had the interest and motivation...and he had a WALLET....and he was a single guy who enjoyed his 3 pleasures in life...i.e. betting on the horses, eating fine gourmet steaks, and hiring models to play pie and gunge games with. Lenny had no problem hiring over 400 amateur models and top porn stars to engage in his pie games. Rob Blaine was like a giant huggy bear of a guy...not Brad Pitt either...and Bill Shipton was no Brad Pitt either.

You do not need to be Brad Pitt in order to have some wam fun with models......but you do need to have a good personality and to treat the girls very respectfully and be generous....that was how Lenny, Rob and Bill were....

This was back in the 1990's when there was no such thing as flying drone cameras. Yes...times have changed, and today it would be cheap and easy to do such a scene...but not in the 1990s..

Actually we DID have 2 REAL helicopters hovering over one of our wam shoots in our back garden in 1994. I am not sure if you were in attendance that day, but we were doing a pie shoot with 4 of the girls and 4 other girls were sunbathing NAKED around my pool....and then we heard a Local News Helicopter approaching, so I yelled at all the girls to tell them to cover up with a towel because the chopper was flying low over my property. Well...none of our girls were shy, they were all Page 3 girls imported from the UK...and when I told them to cover up, instead of doing that.....they dropped their towels and waved at the chopper pilot flying over....and then he circled back over to get another look...and the girls flashed him again. Finally he took off and I thought we have got rid of the chopper, because we could not do any audio because of the chopper noise.....but lo and behold he CAME BACK 10 minutes later and he had radioed his other Chopper buddy....and now we had TWO choppers hovering over our pie shoot.

Any scenes I regret doing? - That turned out to be more difficult to answer than I thought. There's been a few that I didn't like right away but they sold well and proved popular so I was wrong and changed my thinking. There's a couple that had some baggage, maybe bad experiences attached to them, but again they worked on screen so I'm good. Quite a few where you think you could have some something better or different but it seems nobody cares but me. If something really wasn't good then Dave would just throw it away. I'm happy to say there are very few of those over 20+ years.

We had some challenging custom experiences but the customer was very happy.

But actually regret? Yeah, but nobody will ever see two of those. Should they see the other two is a subject of disagreement but they are out there. There was a model who I had worked with under another producer that I brought to Camp MPV at my expense. I liked her a lot when working with her previously but more time had elapsed than I recalled. Life hadn't been very good to her and though she was a game performer it just didn't work anymore. Then she began going places that left a bad taste. I paid her and thanked her and we buried the video.

All things considered though that's a very small percentage of over a thousand scenes.

@Bozo - Jayce and Ariel would probably do SFX "practical" special effects i.e. drive a car into a mud lake if you pay them enough!

@Wamtec Oh, I know, I recently had made a scene with Ariel and Jayce actually. You can definitely see I'm no Brad Pitt either, but they sure made me feel like I was. I guess I meant that I'm more looking for love, rather than a model to play with.
