Here's a reminder to fill your model rosters! It was always important to add models to your scenes because UMD uses their info (metadata) for our search results. It's how we can include scenes when a user searches for your model or one of his/her characteristics or keywords.
But as of yesterday it's even more important because it's how we derive the gender of your downloads, as well as model count, and more! This is most important to those who offer male/female combined (coed) scenes, and it's the only way your stuff will show up for folks browsing for coed stuff.
Just add your models here: https://umd.net/manage_models and then edit your scenes to check the boxes for those models, and we'll do everything else. This is one of the most important thing you can do for your downloads on UMD.
I just updated a lot of my scenes to add models but I have one major issue with this system. Model characteristics are not static. Models gain/lose weight, dye their hair, get plastic surgery, etc. Wouldn't it be more effective to be able to add these keywords directly to a scene instead of to a model profile that you then have to add to a scene? One of my models, Elvira, lost a significant amount of weight so her profile now has her tagged as "skinny" but there are also several earlier scenes of her as a bbw. I feel like I have to create multiple profiles per model to have accurate search results for my scenes.

Nice question. When you update a model profile and submit, UMD will instantly update all the keywords of all the downloads she was ever in, so that they are consistent with the changes and we can adjust search results. But if you have a model whose characteristics may be different from scene to scene, like a she's a blonde on this one and then a redhead on the next, then yes you'd have to put that information in the description itself. You can work with the system however it makes sense for your content, but I think the most important thing is to get the models up in there, with their genders correctly set.
When I create a model profile I leave most of it blank, just name, gender, and the main bio - as with DIDVP things like hair colour, look, etc, can change radically from month to month, so any specific descriptive stuff goes in the scene descriptions for each scene.

That's fine. The picture, name, and gender are really the main things to put in so that we can actually use the profile. You can always write some sort of bio too, so her/his fans will have something to read!
Don't forget people can actually shop by model, because they kind of get their own stores. To not have your models in there is almost like closing a store.

Are we able to add the same model to multiple stores yet?

Yep. You have a model roster, and you can assign those models to any scenes that they're in. Those scenes are assigned to stores (and you can have multiple stores) so effectively your models can be in any number of stores. Not sure that's what you meant?

Well I meant since I have two different accounts, this one and the DIDVP store and some of the models are in both stores. Also some models work with multiple producers so there are multiple model profiles for the same model. Star for example has 5 profiles so there is no easy way to see all the scenes she is in (when you search her name in the downloads videos of other people come up too). It's not the biggest issue since there are plenty of ways to search for content.

I see what you mean. The system was really structured to accommodate one model roster per producer, and then the producer could have any number of stores and scenes to add their models to. When it comes to the multiple UMD account though, there is no way to cross-reference a model from one producer's roster to another producer's content, and I don't have plans to set that up. However, I could manually make the change, so if you're interested in that, please let me know via inbox and we can discuss.

Yeah, and here's the thing... a lot of models are across a few sites run by different producers, so as a search tool it's not necessarily that great.
I have ZERO idea how you would go about fixing that though.
I'll have a think. It may need a bit of manual work to do.
The thing is that a model listing can only be "owned" and edited by one person. To make them controllable by multiple people would be a bit more work than I can do right now. So the end result is we'll have some redundancy in that situation.

Yeah, I don't have an answer.
It would make an awesome search tool. Take someone like Messy Jessie who has worked with a bunch of sites and people being able to just find them off the model link.
