It's titled "A Recipe for Murder" from 1991, and it looks to be from some low-budget movie, or a sketch.
The author, Frank Pilato, was filming a lot of commercials in 90s.

There's really no need to mock the situation man. This is serious stuff, and the community needs to be on the same page conceptually about what we mean when we say no children's programming. It's not clear at all. Silly music has been commonly used to amplify slapstick comedy since like Laurel and Hardy. And in media for all audiences, including adult/erotic movies.

We've never said that silly music is a deciding factor in determining if it's for kids or not. The point it seems he's trying to make is that our moderation decisions are subjective and subject to scrutiny, and he's right. But his angle seems to be to paint us as hypocritical instead of working with us to come into alignment on these issues.

I do think we should split hairs on policy and moderation decisions. But not out of spite. That gets us nowhere.

Yeah, I don't think that's it. It's not that determining children's programming is subjective. It's that banning the sharing or talking about grown adults getting pied because they're on a show you think is children's programming is deeply weird. There's no reason why that would matter. Adults are adults. I think the reason almost all non-custom wam is banned here is because there's no money in it for you or for wam porn producers. If people get their rocks off watching Chega Mais or EEG, then they don't need to pay for it. That's the reason. And that's fine. That's your right as site owner. That's capitalism. But some people are going to grouse about it.

This has nothing to do with money this has to do with sex, this is a sex fetish website, man. We're trying not to mix children's programming here with all the other stuff we're posting, why is this so hard to understand? This level of conspiracy and entitlement is absolutely frustrating. Because you're not making money on this site you don't seem to care about the those of us who do make money on this site, and that feels dehumanizing. We're putting our bodies and our reputations at risk just to create content for you to enjoy. And if you don't do any kind of adult work or make porn or fetish content, you're clueless about the hoops that we have to jump through in order to stay in business. The level of scrutiny that we're put under is really heavy because people are convinced that all porn is bad and everyone who participates in it is sexually trafficking and grooming children. We have to make strict rules about these things because the card processors created them in order to do business with adult sites. You're not even allowed to post certain words on OnlyFans and your post will get deleted if you use them. Social media will delete your entire account if you show too much cleavage or use certain language. Every single adult site and social media site has strict rules against certain language and type of content. All because of sex, not money, SEX. So yes, we are splitting hairs and shutting certain posts down, because we're all under the microscope here.

I think MM is being a bit too overly cautious in where the line is overly drawn.
And yet I'm fine with that.

I'd much, much, much prefer, that MM be a bit too cautious as opposed to not quite cautious enough.

Risk/reward: I'd rather there be a fairly high chance of missing out on the ability to share and discuss perfectly safe, non-controversial WAM content that could've been fine, than there be a very small chance of the site being shut down, MM being arrested, and even users getting in trouble.

Not that this can be quantified, but I'd day that an error of around 10% "Too cautious, didn't need to be that restrictive" is still what I'd choose over a 0.5% (half a percent) chance of "Man, we realllly should've been more cautious". So, 20:1 preference of too cautious instead of should've been more cautious. At least, that's how I see the ratio.

A show made for adults, with all adults, that shares a format and name of a show from the 1980s that was for teens is not to be mentioned. Even typing the name brings up one of many flags of No-No words.

However, goofy silly adults engaging in unrealistic childish behavior with zany wacky exaggerated sound effects is all good.

Just wanted to make sure we're consistent. It's not my rule, but it's a rule and should be enforced. Sounds like in this situation we are okay with kid's programming for "reasons" but in other cases adult's programming warrants an instant deletion of the thread.

If only DungeonMasterOne had a wiki page of this show and we knew what time of day it aired, apparently *That* is the new litmus test for what actually is and isn't children's programming.

Time of day is not the litmus test, and given all the criteria we keep saying we use, you are speaking in bad faith to win an argument. For what?

If you are serious about tweaking the TOS or reviewing the list of show and movie titles we don't allow, then let's have that discussion. Otherwise what you are doing is taking difficult decisions and weaponizing them to shade us as incompetent instead of actually helping us to do better.

If you want, you can contact me privately with a list of shows we've publicly deemed as kid's shows which you feel we should start allowing to be posted about here. Or we can discuss what you feel the criteria should be in considering what a kid's show is. Wherever you personally feel UMD at large should be drawing the line on kiddie shows, I'm interested in hearing about it.

Either way, please don't go down the path of hijacking people's threads just to beat the dead horse again.

Wow, sorry Gater! Looks like this thread got derailed pretty quickly. Anyway, I don't think this is a show that will appear on IMDB.
It occurred to me that it looks almost like an advertisement for one of those "Murder Mystery Party" games that were popular a while back-- maybe even part of an infomercial for one. Regardless, I don't think our collective sleuthing will be of much help here, but, if anyone, can figure out where this came from, you are probably that man.

The show isn't on IMDb, or at least not under the given name. If it's some local thing, we probably won't be able to find anything, considering it was made in 1991. The only person who knows is Frank Pilato himself, and he is currently releasing his work on YT. So maybe we'll se more on this? Fingers crossed.

The Italian guy who made this movie, Maurizio Nichetti, also directed another movie called "Ho fatto splash" (1980), where there's wedding scene, in which Maurizio causes a large wedding cake to splatter on the newlyweds and all the guests.

I doubt it. Too many cameras, good editing, fairly good video quality for the era.
