This is the speech I've written for my wife, to be read at her 50th bday party Thursday night, feel free to share your thoughts on my writing style. Do you think this is too mushy?

Too wordy?

Might be a bit too intimate for public. Have you considered, "Of all the women I know, you are definitely one of them."

"Ok" might be seen as a bit too casual for such an important milestone.

Perhaps "You're a reasonably acceptable wife" ?

Not sure if it is too personal. You could always go with "Happy birthday to a person I once bumped into".

Using the word wife seems too over the top. I'd suggest "Happy birthday, bud".

I'd just go with a stout handshake personally.
