Been using nutella for my last few session for personal use. One time me and my partner were using it and all was good, headed to the tub to continue and finish up for a little while and within 10 minutes the nutella (and other assorted chocolate spreads) started congealing before it was clumping together, and would roll of the skin as I'd try to continue wiping.
The previous 2 times, the same thing has happened. Into my trunks, start messing around going from jar to jar and 30 minutes later I'm rushing to "finish" down to the consistency going claggy and congealed.
What's the best thing to counter-act this? Having a look around some people have suggested oil and stirring, others to microwave before I start. I should mention I tend to buy 20 - 30 jars in total, some smaller some bigger. I want to keep the thick consistency because Iove the way it feels, and honestly I don't mind it being hard to get off. Just the thought of it being that consistency is enough to drive me wild!
Hi, though I'd copy my inbox answer to you here in case anyone else has the same problem
For nutella, the best way is to have a few plastic jugs (or loads in your case lol) and empty your jars of nutella into them. Microwave each one for 45 to 60 seconds, and then stir in some vegetable oil, about 60ml should do it. Give it a good stir and it will stay runnier and not go claggy. I haven't tried this with branded nutella though, only the cheap value range copies.
Oh, and additionally be sure not to get water or custard near it, anything 'wet' rather than oily will make it clag.
Re: changing consistency, the addition of 60ml oil per jug shouldn't make it too runny, just stop it clagging.
Or you could try oiling yourselves first...
Experiment with different amounts as I never measure anything exactly, but I do know it doesn't take much to stop it the clag.
The idea of oiling myself after you'd said about the vegetable oil did enter my head. That could be an interesting result.
Thinking of having another go in the middle of the week per your tips and I'll give an update. Also curious about adding the oil in when it starts going claggy. Curious if that would reverse it.
So had a late shift at work. Before I went in, I nipped over to a local supermarket and a farm foods for veg oil and some extra supplies. (couldn't help myself). Went with a 1.5L bottle of the super market branded oil. Nothing fancy. Got home, ate and snuck upstairs for some wind down time and to test the tips from earlier.
Lubed my entire body generously with veg oil (which felt pretty hot in itself). Then began lathering on straight from the jar. Just as a tester to see what mess I could get into. Happy to say that this appeared to work for a little bit. Went from jar to jar and wasn't till I was getting near the end of my supplies it started to get claggy. used a moderate amount of oil again to see what would happen and it was near enough back to the original consistency once spread. Used remaining big jars which began clagging so repeated the oiling again to great results. Just a thick enough consistency to what I wanted to cover me from head to toe.
Clean up was a breeze. The water simply washed it off the body without having to use any real force. 15 minutes max from a messy dream to unsuspectingly clean. The only gripe I'd say is this took a little bit of time to test out. Just a tad over 2 hours. Well worth it.
Anyone thinking of trying the method, I definitely recommend. Next time I'll get some pictures. Thanks to Candy Custard for the advice. I'll be purchasing a vid or something similar as a thanks!
