While I understand that the is a need for this, it is slowly driving me mad when it reappears with every change of page. Is there not some way that it can be made to appear only at the start of a UMD session?

This, as you called it, reminder blocked all my uploaded videos simply because I didn't mark them with the right letter. It's really annoying

If you're sure all your content is correctly tagged, click the X in a circle to close the message, it goes away and should stay away. Note lots of UMD stuff depends on cookies so if you're not allowing those then it might reappear.

Edit: Hmm - this previously worked for me but the mesaage keeps coming back on my Notifications page, despite clicking the X. I'll flag it to MM.


Even more annoying if the entire site gets blocked in whole states or countries where laws require adult content to be filtered, which is what will happen if content isn't marked correctly. The reason for the tagging is so UMD can, for connections coming from places where such laws apply, put an age-verification gate in front of content the law requires to be filtered - but only where laws require it, leaving it ungated anywhere else.

The alternative would be having to have an age-gate in front of the entire site, regardless of whether a user lives somewhere with such laws or not. What MM's implemented is a much better system that means age-gating only happens where legally required and only for actual R and X content. Just tag everything correctly, for the sake of all of our users.

With all the flagging and stuff, what happens with content where the users have uploaded it and for one reason or another have long since stopped coming here? There are tens of thousands of pictures to go through. I don't know how this can be expected of website owners.

Good point! So I've built an AI that can analyze images for nudity. Now 24 hours a day I have it scanning through all the galleries, forum uploads, user icons, model images, etc, and it flags anything it thinks is probably nude. I have a backend where I manually review all these flags and I can quickly adjust the parental rating of the individual images, or ignore the flag if the AI was incorrect. It's a pretty slow process but getting faster as I build out my backend functions so I can correct the images faster.

It's been running for about a month so far, and I'm currently down to around mid-2022 (new images get inserted onto the top of the queue). I expect to have gone through every image within a couple of months. Mods can't see this part of the backend--not sure they'd want to!

Also I have a question on the r-rating qualifications where it says " .. or cropping to focus on the groin area.".
At what point does a pic including the groin area have to be r-rated? I am working on the basis that if it occupies more than 50% of an image then it needs r-rating, otherwise not unless of course there are other factors such as transparency when wet.
