This episode was headed for the trash can until the very end when Eliana was double pied. The camera stayed on her for several minutes with zooms and replays. She continued the game without wiping and the zooms and replays continued. Total camera time must've been close to five minutes. So the new season begins on a positive note.
Prior to the Eliana pieing the game was total suckage. There were six men including BigNoseGuy, MaleCrossdresserNumber2 and the short rotund black lady who is a recurring player.
Per usual, a melee broke out with the men running around the studio plastering each other with pies. MaleCrossdresserNumber2 got the worst of it. The cheerleaders hid and the co-host, a pretty young lady, avoided any mess.
It was after this hilarity that Eliana lost and was hit with two pies.
The segment ended with Celso receiving at least seven pies in a scripted bit.
The game appears essentially the same for the new season. The contestants still wear the blue and yellow jackets and the pies are unchanged. Only the podium has been updated, bringing the players closer together.
I haven't checked the episode. I did check the news updates and saw it was Eliana surrounded by the usual cast of garbage people. A bit depressing that PoR (and Celso) refuse to invite the many attractive females from 2014-16 back on the show now. But Big Nose guy, Crossdressing Guy, and the Noite people seem to appear monthly. I can only assume they're now using PoR solely to promote their own shows, and pushing all these male "comedians" to do the pie games? Who knows.
Anyway, the fact that they lean into an attractive female getting messy is a positive thing. I suppose a "celebrity" getting messy trumps Celso's obvious hatred of messy women, so good for the show. They really just need to bring back Melon Woman. Hot as hell, and dumb as a bag of rocks, and every single dude on the show had no qualms about pieing the hell out of her. More like that please!
And just to anticipate the questions: Watch the show on DL's official YouTube page. But use a VPN. That's literally the only way.
> I watched the show on a YouTube livestream. I believe the channel belongs to SBT. No VPN was necessary.
> This episode was utter garbage until the Eliana pieing. I would've given it a "F".
> They made none of the obvious and necessary upgrades. It appears they're content with doing the same thing as last year and the year before that (etc.). The game will continue to be centered on "comedy". Any good episodes, from a WAM perspective, will be entirely dependent on luck.
For non-Portuguese speakers, after Eliana got pied, Celso asked apologizes for her. He said he was thinking that Danilo wouldn't pie her because today is the International Day of the Women. But, instead of this, Danilo pied Eliana, as we could see.
Celso even asked Eliana to pie him, as a way to Eliana apologize him to the double pie she got.
Eliana said things like: "I have a reputation to uphold", "He doesn't mind to women", "At least, the pie is really tasty".
It seemed to me in the border of the kidding/not kidding.
Anyway, today Eliana will shove her face on flour in her own show. We won't be able to post this scene here, but, for who searchs Youtube, the scene probably will be available tomorrow.
Rogio Silva said: The pie at Eliana was great, one of the best on this program, but I like the "short rotund black lady" too, unfortunately she just took a weak pie.
You're in luck, she's appeared more times since the reboot in 2018 than 99% of ALL the women from 2014-16 put together.
I was hoping that the pretty co-host (Ugly Betty) would take a pie. She looked like she had never seen PoR before and appeared genuinely shocked when pies started hitting faces. I think she was a one shot deal, only there to promote her show. Too bad. A missed opportunity.
Is it wise for PoR to continue throwing pies during a pandemic? Can you transmit the virus on a plate of frosting? Perhaps they should play the game in an empty studio? Or cancel it altogether. Holy shit THIS sucks -- on every level imaginable.
New episode Sunday with some dudes vs. the same old Ratinho people we've seen from 1000 previous shows. So yeah, same old same old.
Not every country in the world is at the exact same level of alert as the U.S. is right now. It's almost like the virus has spread to different countries at different times...

My understanding is that two members of Brazil's government have tested positive for Covid-19. Brazil's President Bolsonaro is claiming his test was negative but he's quarantining himself for a week anyway. There's suspicion that he's not telling the truth. All were in the U.S. the prior week with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. There are pictures of them socializing, shaking hands and sitting in close proximity at a table eating dinner. If Trump didn't catch the virus then he's lucky beyond belief. Perhaps eating McDonalds every day strengthens the immune system. It's unclear whether Trump has been tested or refuses to release the results. (His doctor says he hasn't been tested). We'll know soon enough.
We're approximately one or two weeks behind Italy as far as the spread of the virus. And Brazil may be one or two weeks behind us. Let's hope this thing is contained in a month or two instead of going exponential.
Update: Happy Pi(e) Day. Update 2: Now it's being reported that Trump has been tested. The results have not been released yet.
The game was played in an empty studio as rt2018 commented. They used laser lights to compensate for the lack of an audience.
It seemed excessively wrong, like perhaps they shouldn't be doing this. Who knows if all that mess is a vehicle that can transmit the virus? Maybe that's just my overly worried perspective from the U.S.
Anyway, there was one attractive female. She took two very good pies. Her name is Claudia or something. I couldn't see her pin. She looked young. Perhaps someone knows her name and age.
One guy licked a pie before he threw it. That was enough for me to feel ill.
They added a wrinkle to the end of the game. There are a bunch of questions. If answered correctly Celso receives a pie. Fortunately they weren't, and Celso remained clean.
I wouldn't be surprised if the game is suspended soon if/when Corona becomes more serious in Brasil.
Update: After further research, in my opinion, they should definitely suspend the game, suspend the show and run public health information in its place.
a) You can worry a lot less about the coronavirus, the reaction to this is way beyond what it actually is. Sorry folks, but if you looked at the flu and calculated the % of people who died only looking at the portion of the population who are rushed to the ER once they get it, yeah it looks a lot worse than it is, too. Granted this is slightly more deadly, the flu is pretty nasty to begin with and it's going to spread a lot more because people can spread it not even knowing they're sick and they stay contagious longer, but beyond that it's not this end of the world thing it's being made out to be.
b) You can also worry a little more about the 'one attractive female' who took two good pie hits, unless you're okay with crossdressing males. If you are, then go on right ahead. If that's not your bag, you might want to take a slightly closer look at 'her'.

CU, hopefully you didn't wank off to this "attractive female" accidentally....
In moments like this, I always feel like a little subtlety is called for, not necessarily outright mockery or laughter, but to each their own.
Although, let's be serious here for a moment:, we all know he did wank to him and it was no accident.
Sadly, thanks to the hype surrounding the big bug I'm not entirely sure he now has access to adequate soap in order to thoroughly clean himself. Not that any amount of soap is enough to clean one's soul, such as when a straight man finds himself having pleasured himself to a crossdressing guy. Given his misguided fears, I suppose there is some irony in that.
Oh POR, we thought you'd hit rock bottom last year, teasing us so - but clearly there was another level of Hell even lower and this last Sunday sunk to it.
To each his own, of course. This is definitely a better crossdressing job than the usual DL band of idiots. That said, it's bizarre how often this show goes to the crossdressing well. They're starting to average as many males in drag per show as genuinely attractive females. (Last week was one, this week was.... honestly zero. MAYBE count Mille, but she's been pied so many times and so much better before.)
Still baffled why they no longer reach out to the large group of gorgeous female celebs who would gladly come on this show and get hit with pies. (See: Years 2014-16.) Maybe they're trying to cultivate a new audience demo of "people who think it's hilarious to see old men dress as women or wear fake noses and pie each other while women stand around in horror." To each his own.
If this keeps up y'all might have to get desperate and buy some actual clips of actually hot women from producers!
Indeed, I was fooled. I thought he was a she. No, I didn't "wank" to him (or Eliana or any other person) on PoR for quite some time. It's a long story. They'd have to return to sexy clothes or sexy attitude or change some things. PoR just misses the mark for me as it currently is. But I do like writing about it.
Now if the towel girl got it good then that's another matter.

Enigma - The experts are saying one million people might die in the U.S. That's an estimate. It might be too extreme or too conservative. I don't think anyone truly knows. I don't have confidence in our leadership and I'm not alone. I don't know how my fellow Americans will react to the recommendations made by the disease control experts. We're a people that don't like being told what to do and how to behave. I tried to get groceries shipped to my home this morning from my usual delivery service. The web site said "schedule full", "no deliveries can be arranged at this time". Fortunately I was able to get a few boxes of cereal and rice from the WalMart website. As it stands I've got two or three weeks of food remaining. If the shelves run empty, as many stores are experiencing, then chaos will eventually erupt. So there are a lot of things that can go wrong to make a bad situation worse. Case in point, the stock market is collapsing, businesses have lost most of their customers and kids are home from school with no supervision. Things are not good. In the U.K. you have universal health care. Here, many are one medical crisis from bankruptcy. Nobody knows if the government will pay for corona care which could cost thousands of dollars. Most Americans don't have $500 in savings. The government may pay for the corona test but it has yet to be ramped up to meet demand. The absolute key, in my opinion, is containing the virus before it goes exponential. If we don't achieve this then it will get really nasty.
criticism unwarranted said: Enigma - The experts are saying one million people might die in the U.S. That's an estimate.
It's also ridiculous.
South Korea, while it might have a slightly less obese and healthier population, they're looking at this the way we normally look at any viral outbreak. Meaning, not just taking a small subsection of the most at risk and using that to drive the numbers. Italy? Yeah sorry to the families of the 2,000 victims, but 2K people in a country of 60 million is not worth destroying the world economy. Even if it ends up being four times that at the end of the day it's a particularly nasty flu-like virus that can spread more rapidly.
That really sucks and I am not dismissing the families of the extremely elderly or the health compromised people who might die from it, but the way everyone freaking out about this is ridiculous and harmful.
Sorry, man but over 1 million people die every year from car accidents. THAT is a big deal but nobody gives a fuck because it's part of how things work. We accept those deaths but are willing to destroy the economy, shops people build up over years, restaurants people put their heart and soul into, sporting events and so on over... what? Worst REALISTIC case, less than 1/10th of how many people die from car accidents and people who were nearing the natural ends of their lives anyway (not to dismiss old or sick people dying, but come on).
Stop watching the news and relax, this is their ratings gold and they're going to hype it up as much as possible, people's lives be damned.
I sincerely apologize for calling you out on this, but, you chose to make at least two 'dismissive' comments about the pandemic.
First of all, by using the old 'more people die in car accidents every year' factoid. motor vehicle risks and accidents are known and calculable (but note: these were diminished by imposing seat belt laws, speed limits, and tougher penalties for DWIs, i.e., by preventive measures) ...and, we can choose to ride in or drive a car (we can't choose not to get a virus, only to minimize contact risks)...But the two phenomena are not comparable (factually or psychologically). All those care accidents do no happen in a contracted time span (of weeks or a few months).
In a pandemic contagion, the threat is invisible (until symptoms show) and can spread globally in a matter of days (as it did)....Everyone becomes at risk (and older folks [50 yo +] are most at risk from getting really sick and/or dying)...even young folks (a few have already died). But the lock downs and quarantines and stay at home orders are to slow (maybe eventually stop) the rapid spread of an invisible (real) threat that can be transmitted by perfectly healthy people (maybe like yourself) to more vulnerable segments of society.
It is like 'herd immunity' in that everyone (>95% or more) needs to get vaccinated in a given social grouping to generate the level of mass immunity needed to stop the illness. In the case of lock-downs (as the reckless idiots who went on Spring Break and attended Mardi Gras are now learning), if a small percentage don't follow the rules (washing hands, social distancing, sleeve sneezing, staying at home as much as possible, etc.), then they become vectors of the virus and potentially everyone (they come into contact with) is placed at risk.
If you can afford to get home delivery of food, great, you're lucky, most can't. Most people have to go out to the grocery store to get food at some point. But that risk of going out is minimized if everyone who does so follows the rules (social distancing, etc.). Point being: over-reacting (by over-protecting oneself) in a pandemic/contagion situation is NOT a bad thing (at worst, you overreacted trying to protect yourself or loved ones)...UNDER-reacting IS bad (it puts others at risk). ...someone you know might be the next victim of contagion.
Right now, the global fatality rate is around 3.4 % (with Italy being closer to 10% as of today), and, 5% of all infections require hospitalization -- enough to overwhelm hospitals and healthcare systems (and sicken front line workers) everywhere (and yes, deeply hurt an economy). Sure most people will survive (but over 50% of infected people 80+ yo will not). But everyone will know someone -- in some families, multiple persons have already died -- who has died or will die from corona virus (I already do) by the time this is 'over' . And then we can feel some security again...until the next, more lethal contagion, that will do even more damage -- especially if we 'minimize' (e.g., not reacting sufficiently to a real risk) the hard lessons we are learning now.
Using this forum as a platform to chastise people (even apologetically) for over-reacting in a pandemic situation -- or trying to 'minimize' the threat (which is indeed what you are doing, intentionally or not, by comparing an entirely different data sets) is irresponsible and not in ANY way helpful to mitigating the very real contagion risk to EVERYONE (we all know people over 50).
Again, sorry for this public post (I like you as a person/moderator) but I felt compelled to do so.

No worries, I think sometimes the problem with discussing this kind of thing is that the sides invariably and inexplicably get very binary, and worse often drawn down political lines when it is very unhelpful.
As I see it, there are not simply two sides to this and should someone argue that it's not as deadly as the most dreary predictions, that doesn't automatically mean that person thinks it's 'just a flu' or not a big deal, either. Many shades of grey to go around here.
It's a novel disease that there is not herd immunity built up with as yet, it seems to spread vastly more easily than something like the flu, we haven't as yet found a good way to treat it (although there may be some hope in that regard coming) and it probably is some degree more deadly than the flu, although I am still less sure about it being anywhere near the worst-case predictions.
Obviously, first and foremost, follow whatever guidelines the experts have laid out. I am personally self-quarantining myself and family. I'm careful about social distancing when I am out. I am cleaning up and wary of anyone who looks like they might be sick (which actually hasn't really happened, haven't seen anyone like that)
I think I made my original post a couple weeks ago, thought at the time some of the quarantine was good but probably a little too drastic (someone not at risk should probably get back to life, maintaining social distancing when able, not doing anything silly, avoiding crowds and such). Since then, the virus has stepped up a little, while we're at 2,500 or so today - that's still something less than the daily deaths from cancer, but the issue seems to be the rate at which the deaths are increasing, which is very concerning. Today maybe it's only 200-300 a day but if it keeps increasing daily, at some point it could be a very big number.
Hope not, of course. Either way, we probably disagree less than you might think. I do think it's serious, I do think it's well beyond a flu and do think it's something to show great concern over.
But, for now, Back to the Pies, or maybe not as POR is on hiatus...
