This year's Salzburg-Festival production of Mozart's Don Giovanni (one of my favorite operas) went full-frontal WAM. This is the scene from the 2nd Act where, traditionally, the Don is dragged down to hell by the come-to-life statue (here, invisible) of someone he has murdered. It's a thrilling scene even in a traditional staging, which this production definitely is not. Watch it before somebody complains and YouTube takes it down.
Brilliant - hope there's more like this and the famous muddy Midsummer's Night Dream with Rupert Graves (sorry cannot find link...) on the London stage some years ago
Seems completely appropriate given the composer's initials! It's actually very effective dramatically, suggesting that the Don is becoming the statue of the guy he's murdered...oops,spoilers!
