She did an interview recently when she talked about the scene where she ends up covered in 'slime' . . . so at least that's one part of the film that wasn't CGI!
Q: What was the more difficult scene to film, the car chase that ends up underwater or the transformation scene where you dive into the vat of chemicals to bleach your skin?
A: [Laughs.] That chemical [scene] was the most unpleasant thing I've ever done in my entire life. So that was definitely my least favorite. It was like this gluggy paint stuff that was so far in my ears and up my nose, and I was choking on it underwater, and I couldn't breathe, and I tried to open my eyes, and it would glaze over my eyeballs, and I could only see white. It was horrible.
The underwater scene, with the car crashing into the water, that was my favorite because I got to work with a free-diving expert and learn how to hold my breathe under water for a really long time. So that's like my new party trick.
Interesting info, but it's too bad the rest of the movie looks like a complex trainwreck to make it worth suffering through the scene. If anyone sees it, feel free to prove me wrong.
I enjoyed it. While it has it's flaws it's definitely not a movie I felt like "suffered" through like Dragonball Evolution. Harley was by far the highlight for me.
But yes that scene was nice, and her wetlook moments (the car, and the rain later on).
I don't know if it's just me, but seeing or hearing a woman quote stuff like this, about stuff going in her nose, opening her eyes, what being under actually felt like, is a heck of a turn-on.
On that note does anyone know how messy Cara Delevigne gets in this film? I've seen references to her "covered in mud" but wasn't sure if that was just an exaggeration of her costume which looks mildly dirty at best...
Cara does get a bit muddy at the end, but it's more like body paint (it's on her, but she's not 'in' mud). Fleeting, like the Harley bit, but a nice extra. I think the real hope for these will be better coverage in the extras when it hits home video.
PS - For what it's worth, I enjoyed the movie. But don't see it just for these wam bits, as they're so quick.
