Only to cover the costs of the supplies and future supplies to fuel their insatiable desires to get as messy as possible and the main reason: To get messy with the dreams of finding the perfect mate, a man who will accept them even with their 110% WAM fetish, which is all they truly care about.
And this is precisely why I have an entire harem of beautiful women, all begging me for pie facials, gunge shampoos, and nuru massages all day, every day!

Exactly, I mean how else did you think I got be to the dungeonmaster of a grand stately home populated entirely by women who from the lowliest scullerymaid to the Countess herself absolutely live for wearing nothing but swimsuits, boilersuits, and wellies, and bathing in custard and mud night after night? It's a hard life, I tell you.

We have a winner. So weird that so many people around here think its something other than this.
So telling that there haven't actually been any other models responding to this. We must all be too busy travelling the world on our private jets and sleeping in beds made of money right?
This pervasive idea that there's something wrong with getting paid to a job really needs to die out. I fucking love getting messy. Guess what else I love? Being able to afford to eat and put a roof over my head, which I can't do unless I get paid for the 8hrs I just spent shooting instead of working anywhere else. Nobody is becoming a millionaire by putting baked beans in their bra lmao, there are literally thousands of other fetishes that are much easier to create content for that don't involve making your hair stink of old dairy, and that are far, far more profitable.
There are a multitude of reasons why models do what we do, some like the aesthetic, some like the sensation, some genuinely get off on it, some do all sorts of modelling and aren't opposed to getting messy. All of those reasons are valid. So what if someone doesn't actually orgasm over the thought of beans poured on them? Does that somehow ruin the sanctity of WAM for you? Does that mean their art isn't valid or worth watching any more?
Sorry for the rant, but these conversations always feel really gatekeepery and strike me as similar to the whole "girls don't really like gaming, they just do it for attention/money" mindset. Have you guys considered that these sorts of threads may actively put women and models off joining UMD and the WAM scene because they don't want to be criticised for not seeming genuinely into it enough? Because when I first started out it was not rare to receive a message from someone suggesting that I was "not really into it" or "only in it for the money" for the simple reason that I wouldn't make videos/take pictures of me getting messy with whatever incredibly specific substance/scenario they wanted for free, because it didn't appeal to me.
All of this and so much more! And as the model, you cannot win...when the Shipper and I were just sharing photos from time to time, I had tons of people asking me to offer videos for sale. Then when I did sell them for a few years, there were plenty of folks who acted as though it was some sort of betrayal against the fetish/WAM community. Somehow the fact that I "did it for money" diminished the appeal. Just this past year someone posted in the forums about how he used to enjoy my work until I went "commercial". Sigh.

Can't wait to read Penny's autobiography, maybe it might be called, "57 Shades of Slime," or something like that. Could be a bestseller and put things right in the mainstream!

Probably because he's too cheap to "enjoy" your work anymore? /shrug you will never please everyone.
For anyone who is interested.... I'm genuinely into WAM and have been for as long as I can remember. However, I also like getting paid for shoots, as Penny rightly says, I like having a roof over my head and feeding my kids. Being paid to model is a win win for me. Doing something I enjoy and earning a bit of money.

Eternities22 said: They don't? Awww :C That's a shame, they don't actually have a passion for the kink.
I only ever worked with one girl who liked wam as a genuine fetish (other than myself) and of course she was not a professional model but a fan of my work who asked to be in a video.
Two women I worked with absolutely hated getting messy. One was a real diva type who would charge more if her hair had to get messy so I only hired her if someone wanted a custom with her (which was rare anyway).
A lot of models I have worked with over the years I met doing other types of modeling, then when they found out what I filmed would get super excited and ask me to cover them in chocolate or slime them. Chocolate and slime have been by far the biggest requests I've had from the models themselves.
I didn't realize it the first time but one of my models I hired to do a pie shoot on her birthday, and then every year after that she would ask to do a pie video with me around her birthday. Sometimes girls end up having way more fun than they would expect with wam, and sometimes it is the opposite.
Please don't do that, as you erase all the time everyone else has spent composing and posting replies.
As to the question, as Candy and Penny have said and I mentioned further up, the answer is "because it's fun." While I do pay my models I'm sure they could probably find non-messy work that would pay the same or more, and they'd be able to do a lot more scenes in one day than the three or four, or if we start at 10am and keep going till 2am, occasionally five scenes that we manage to do.
This is a very true point. It's much easier to do other types of modeling that doesn't involving having to shower and re-do your hair and make-up in between each shoot. Wam shoots take a lof of time and energy and as a model I would not schedule another shoot after a wam shoot because I would likely show up still having chocolate in my ears
Models generally have some level of enjoyment if they are willing to do a wam shoot. Or if they absolutely hate it they just ask for a crazy amount of money.
Meathook said: I hear you, but dissagree. WAM Is not a hobby. Nobodys trying it out for the heck of it. It might sound fun but its not gonna happen without pay.
Like any job people opt for the ones that sound good to them, and like any job, they don't do it for free.
I mean yeah for a pro model payment is a factor, but there are more than enough 'clean' lingerie, nude, etc jobs they could be choosing instead and don't get paid any extra. In a full day of shooting it's a lot of extra work showering and getting camera ready over and over again with a lot of time pressure. This is explained to my models and they still choose it over 'clean' 'easier' jobs because it's fun
Just from someone outside looking in, i always figured this had to play into motivations somehow. I dont think there are many who share the kink as a whole but surely they have to generally enjoy it at least to do it, especially considering the extra work Candy mentioned, beyond just getting payed for it.
ItsJay said: Over the years, I have asked a lot of producers and models about their WAM work. I have always been interested in behind the scenes stuff as well as models personal views and feelings towards getting messy.
Out of every model who has ever got messy, I can guarantee 90% of them do not get a kink from it.
Models who hate it: Models who probably hate getting messy...just don't make many videos. They will make one or two movies, then that's it.
Models who enjoy getting messy: This does not mean they get turned on by getting messy. Most models do it because its fun and its a refreshing change. Imagine having dozens of photo shoots where you have to have perfect hair, perfect make up, perfect clothes and just have to look perfect for hours a day. It will get boring, so to have a job where you have a giant pie fight, get slimed or dive into a mud pit naked, its just a refreshing change. Some may even enjoy how some substances feel, but it does not mean they get turned on. Personally, I do think SOME models get turned on. Not many. Tens of thousands of models have been messy. At least one may be turned on by it. If this is true, we will never know WHO got aroused by it. Its their personal business. Not ours.
Models who do get turned on by it: Its easy to spot. Penny Banks, Candy Custard, Jayce, Ariel, Stella are just some of the ones who are sploshers like us. They go out their way to buy materials, spend hours editing, hours cleaning up and then hope for a sale. Stella travels into the woods to find some spots. Candy must have been messy over 100 times by now.
But the one thing ALL models love about getting messy...is some of them dont have to clean up
+1 to this. Only some may actually have the fetish but i think that to last here for a while (as many models have done) they at least have to have fun in being able to let loose and get absolutely wrecked.

50 shades of green. Obviously.
Not that anybody would call their autobiography after 50 shades because it's terribly written and I don't think that anybody who is involved in the kink scene wants to be associated with it.
There has been a line drawn in this discussion between 'woman who get turned on by wam' and 'women who don't'.
I don't think it's a line, I think it's a blurry area. A lot of women enjoy going to a spa because it feels nice, is sensuous, etc., but they probably don't get 'turned on' by it the way a male will tend to either be aroused or not. At one end of the scale, we have those who would be grossed out at the thought of bathing in custard, and at the other end, those who get turned on just thinking about it, who would love to actually do it. But we're forgetting the grey 'blurry' area.
I'm certain that many women would love the sensuousness of some sweet sticky mess dripping into their clothing, or if they are laying in a kiddie pool of something messy. Oil is an obvious example of a substance that enhances the sense of touch, and the same slippery sensation may be felt with a multitude of messy substances, eggs being top of the list.
So what I'm trying to say is there are probably women who 'almost' get turned on by wam, and some who 'might' get slightly more aroused. Some might feel very aroused, almost like foreplay, but not to the point of wanting to masturbate or have sex in mess.
So please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think women who get messy experience a wide variety of feelings, not just 'turned on' or 'not turned on'.
We males, on the other hand, tend to go one way or the other, without so much of a 'grey area'. I think it's one of the things that makes the sexes different.

So it boggles my mind that some people here don't understand how models could enjoy doing wam shoots without being turned on by them.
Is it really mind-boggling to you? I thought that the idea of getting extremely messy would be viewed as unpleasant/gross to a model who isn't into the fetish. WAM isn't just mess like on a game show, it's incredibly over the top and gross (which is why I love it) so it's actually quite interesting to me that these models choose it but aren't actually into it. I thought they'd need to be into it to be hired so they can show they are enjoying it, which makes it hotter.
Keep in mind that models are like actors with generally shorter roles to play. It's their job to look however the photographer/producer/director wants them to look. If they say "love it" then the model(s) need to do their best to make whoever is viewing the product to believe they are loving it. This is LITERALLY what models are paid to do. There are models for all sorts of oddly specific things including "hand models" I don't think someone who hand models gets hard/wet every time they put a ring their finger.

That's not actually what he said. WAM can just just be enjoyed for fun and I can tell you first hand that some models do.
Eternities22 said: I thought that the idea of getting extremely messy would be viewed as unpleasant/gross to a model who isn't into the fetish.
No, not at all. I mean there are models who would find the idea of being covered in mess very unplesant, those models generally don't do WAM scenes. However there are lots of people who quite enjoy the opportunity to get totally messy, purely for the fun of it. As Morgana once told me, when she was little she'd be given a nice new dress to wear but always told "you have to keep that spotless" - which given she's a bit of a rebel at heart meant that the one thing she really wanted to do given half a chance was get dressed up really nicely and then totally trash herself. Doing WAM scenes gave her the opportunity to do that, getting a messy as she liked, in a variety of outfits provided specifically for getting messy in, and with the added bonus of not having to clean up the aftermath herself plus a purpose built washdown facility for getting clean again afterwards.
Think of the news pictures that come up every time one of the big music festivals gets rained on and turns into a mudbath, there are always a few people who just happily throw themselves into the mud for the sheer hell of it. Mostly those people aren't wammers, they're just taking the opportunity to go wild in a way that society doesn't usually allow, and enjoying something different. Same thing with the people who invariably end up in the deep pools of mud at 4x4 meets, again not wammers, just people having fun.
To a lot of people the idea of getting messy, even in mud, isn't that gross, the only downside is the time and effort to clean up afterwards. Make that part easy and fun, and lots of people are more than happy to get messy just for a laugh.

To add to this, just because something might be unpleasant in the moment doesn't mean that the person would never want to do it again or that they regret doing it in the first place.
Take the pose that I'm in in my profile picture. Was it unpleasant? Fuck yes, I'm stretching myself and a very tight catsuit into a position that is very uncomfortable to pose in at the best of times with a photographer asking me to pull my legs higher while laying on the hard floor of a local Travelodge. Am I pleased with the result? Yes, it's probably one of the most striking photographs in my portfolio. Would I do it again? Totally, in fact, I'd like to recreate the photograph on a parquet floor and that will be even more unforgiving of the angles due to needing to line everything up with the right angles of the flooring.
We've spent a lot of time in this thread saying that lots of models enjoy WAM modelling. I suspect that's true. I've spoken to enough other people who have done WAM and enjoyed it to know that there are a lot of people who enjoy getting messy without having to find a sexual thrill attached to it (hell, I'm currently organising a meet where half of the attendees are interested in exploring sploshing but have no sexual desire to do any of it, they just want to try). But even if the model found it unpleasant at the time, they might do it again because they found some other enjoyment out of it.
Also, 90% of modelling is completely non-sexual. Hand modelling, catalogue modelling, portrait modelling is generally not sexual at all.
Also, 90% of modelling is completely non-sexual. Hand modelling, catalogue modelling, portrait modelling is generally not sexual at all.
And the 10% that is "sexual modelling", is generally that way only in it's display, not it's production.
Totally. I'm only a hobbiest / part time model, but I've done some racy shoots (such as the ones on my profile and some bondage sets). You can definitely create sexy images without having the kind of bond that you'd have with a partner.
Hell, I did my first art nude a couple of weeks ago and none of the on-set banter was in any way sexual or about nudity, even though I was naked in a field.
