I've always liked shorts, t-shirts, sports socks, and wellies, but that's a throwback to a TV show from long ago. Agree that the full "sports" look works brilliantly, and yes the t-shirt must be tucked in - we had to punish Lucia for galavanting around the estate in high summer with her shirt untucked and all-but obscuring any view of her shorts.
Matching kit works well in both shorts and dresses, pic 1 below shows Honeysuckle doing terrible things to Maude's outfit, with both of them in matching red shorts and red-highlight t-shirts, while pic 2 shows Miss Abigail and Honeysuckle in Adidas pie fighting dresses, which they're wearing with matching black Adidas football socks and Converse sports boots - sadly I don't seem to have taken any full-height promo shots for that scene.
I've also found that pairing the shiny shorts with matching swimsuits works rather well, as illustrated below by Lady Jennifer (pics, 3, 4, and 5) who also shows off the booty advantage of her shorts rather nicely.
Pic 6 is a full height of the wellies-shorts-t-shirt combo, while for the short skirt fans, pics 7 and 8, from a future release, nicely compare Miss Abigail in shorts with Friday in a nice short tennis dress. Pic 9 shows off matching blue shorts and t-shirts, while 10 features sports socks (no shoes), shorts and t-shirts.
And while only pic 1 actually shows any mess, needless to say all the girls in all of these shots came to a very sticky, slippery, squelchy end shortly afterwards.

As much as I love dresses, this was a close decision for me.
I'm not a big fan of WAM in athletic shorts, but a pair of tight denim or fancy satin short shorts on a woman with a great butt? Yes, please! But... there is a point where the shorts aren't shorts anymore, and are just really uncomfortable underwear as outerwear. lol
I love miniskirts, especially skater, pleated, or tartan skirts, but, like above, there's a point where the skirt is more of a belt than a skirt. I like seeing the skirt move as the woman moves, so if there's not enough material to move, well... meh. lol
I guess I'm saying I like both, but only at certain lengths and in certain styles, because I'm annoying and picky like that

Final analysis is 236 votes cast, 63 (26%) for shorts, 173 (74%) for short skirts. So every fourth wammer is a shorts fan.

I totally get that, I've realised I have specific clothing fetishes as well as a general fully clothed WAM fetish.
Certainly with you on the tight shorts of various types, we have some disco pant hotpants which look awesome clean and even better messy, we've used some skin-tight cycling-style shorts in scenes too, and as previously mentioned I love figure-showing skin tight spandex outfits.
Also with you on length of skirt. I always want there to be enough material to sensibly mess up, so a skirt should be at least knee-length. I've seen lots of scenes with girls in businesswear where the skirt ends mid-thigh, just long enough to deny the crotch-view but too short to even be properly seen, and all I can think is "what's the point, if they wanted such a short look, why not wear smart shorts and let us see betwen the legs as the gloop flows down." A shorter pleated skirt, combined with nice underwear and with the scene making a point of letting us see the underwear get messy, fair enough. But business-style skirts need to come to at least the knee when sitting down. Preferably sitting down in a really sloppy gateaux, and then standing up to let us see the damage.

My own taste is for more casual, and I prefer bare legs, and jeans, overalls, or tracksuits, to smarter outfits. But I've come to appreciate other styles over the years, and I think we've done some rather good smart sets. Agree that tights usually go with skirts, but good point about using them with smart shorts - I think the sell them as "city shorts". We have a couple of pairs, need to try and get them into use in a scene at some point.

I agree you have done some good smart sets. I love the Honeysuckle / Miss Abigail filling the gunge tank before getting gunged sets and the Maude / Honeysuckle / Friday custard battle in business suits. All highly recommended

Interesting point about movement. During this thread I've come to realise the short skirts I don't like are too-short business skirts - long enough we can't see "the gap" as Dave put it, but too short to be properly seen or messed up, the worst of all worlds.

I really like lengths between mid-thigh and just below the knee for skirts, whether they're loose, flirty skirts or stretchy and skin-tight (although I'm not a fan of pencil skirts or other skirts that restrict mobility). Seated gungings are fun to watch, but my preference by far is for the models to be moving around, whether it's throwing buckets of gunge at each other, having a messy food fight, or just taking turns in the chair. If they're moving around, then the shorter (mid-thigh-length) skirts are still very visible and interesting to me. The crotch-view doesn't really matter much to me, but if it is featured, I like seeing lacy or satin panties.
My opinion on polls like this probably doesn't (and shouldn't!) matter much though, because I can't afford to actually buy sets. Such is the life of a college dropout lol No degree to use to get the high-paying jobs, but still a ton of college debt to pay off. But... another few years and everything will be all paid off!
THEN my opinion will matter more!
For what it's worth, though, I love seeing Honeysuckle's outfits! She really seems to like the fancier, sparkly outfits

I can see that would work when walking about, especially if jackets are dispensed with - a smart blouse tucked into a shorter skirt (which will also hang slightly lower when the wearer is standing up, improving the look further) could look really good.
The scenes that originally put this thought in my head, a good few years back now, invariably had the girl sitting down, and wearng a jacket - the skirt might as well not have been there, except it blocked the between-the-legs view. Had the same models worn mid-thigh city shorts, the scenes would have been much improved, while keeping the same amount of legs / tights visible.

I'm more meaning being able to see that area fully clothed, as when trousers are worn, rather than upskirt. See this pic of Isabeau in a skin tight zip catsuit - Fully clothed, but showing off every inch of her gorgeous figure, everywhere.

LOL! No worries. While I like running polls and discussions to see what people think of different things, I don't often base actual shooting decisions on poll results, as what really matters are the sales stats, which is actual hard evidence of what people liked enough to put cash down for.
This poll and discussion has been fascinating though, and as a shorts fan I'm more than happy that roughly a quarter of respondents agree - a position doesn't have to win to still be affirming.

Yes, she does like smart, and shiny / fancy outfits. And knows how to pose and show them off before they meet their messy fate. And she's been working with us long enough that I give her a lot of free reign over her outfits. Still love the music of that era.TBH the single most important thing for the Daisy Duke look is the shorts *MUST* be high-waisted. Low-rise jeans and shorts are utter abomination, and fortunately an abomination that didn't exist back when The Dukes Of Hazard was being filmed. See attached pic of actual Daisy, note her shorts are high waisted, with a long fly, and also properly finished round the legs, hemmed, and with a neat little slit at the side, not just chopped off and left to fray.
Though an interesting oddity, due to some ridiculous puritanical US broadcasting rule, she couldn't be shown bare-legged. So in every scene where she wears her trademark shorts, she's also wearing skin-coloured tights under them. Which probably drives pantyhose fetishists totally wild. So much for puritanism.
