"What's stopping you getting a custom?"

I've had a gameshow custom done before (via MostWAM/CustomWAM), which I was very happy with. I've got another idea for a scripted custom, but the story requires specific set design; a bit more elaborate than the traditional "white plastic chair"! I haven't completely abandoned the idea, but I put it on hold while I pondered any workarounds, and then 2020 hit.
Its very rare that I go back to videos more than a couple of times. Variety is key to me and 'something new' (which can be a pain). This means the cost vs 'return' for me is a deal breaker, yes I might get a video that's everything I love in one place but for me its seeing the models reaction as the first thing is poured into her clothes or over her head. Once I know that reaction, I kind of lose interest.
I've had some very good luck with customs, and not so great luck. However I have a WAM fetish that also includes things we can't discuss here on this site.
I've found plenty of models willing to pour a gallon of chocolate sauce on themslves for $50 or so plus the cost of materials. You just need to be willing to spend money.

Have attempted on three separate occasions to get a custom over the last 12 months.
First occasion the model I wanted was not available for three months so abandoned that one.
Second attempt was in July this year. - request accepted by site but as yet nothing has happened so not holding out much hope there.
No money was paid on these two.
Third attempt some 5 weeks ago. Site very helpful and after finalising my request paid up front for it. Now waiting for finished video.
Logistically these can be quite difficult to do and as I am impatient the wait seems endless but am hopeful will get the video soon.
On balance I would still go for a custom but accept that they can take time to do!
This year with COVID etc times have been very difficult.
Watch this space!

Just thought I would complete my input on this topic. I had my very first custom video yesterday. It was just about everything I wanted/requested. Cannot fault it or the help I had from the site in setting it all up. Will definitely consider further 'custom' from this site in the future. (MrWam/Wamgame).
reddit recently posted a list of prices for "sex work" type stuff.
i could NOT have agreed more.
there were like prices for sex talk on the phone minute by minute....
they had stuff on there easy to price and at the very bottom it said

there is a VERY GOOD REASON FOR THAT.
i could break it down like a shotgun who you get it from, why they are cheaper than another, blah blah blah....but it would sincerely take me forever.
i am glad some people on here are admitting that their expectations may not ever be able to be met....SELF AWARENESS IS A BEAUTIFUL THING!!!
bc we are NOT running a crazy studio over here. we got good lights and good cams and all that but even still ....in MY case? its the HOUSE OF MESS for a reason. its my house 
BUT, i have had good custom reviews that have made me really happy. a few misunderstandings in the 9 years ive been here but i never bite off more than i can chew. I believe that is what makes doing customs muchos better even if i lose money, i never take money if i have a pile in front of me i need to do.

To jump off the back of what Jayce is saying. I have had a few customs done before. They varied in price and we're based off of the cost of materials and time. Those will always vary regardless of who you get a custom from.
I recently had a custom done and when I got it, it was not easy I expected. I emailed them about it and they were very quick to figure out a solution which is being worked on now. When you email someone for a custom there is likely a long string of emails that go back and forth and you are not the only one they are taking to. Between all that is it easy for some confusion to happen, we are all human and most people doing customs have more than just filming all day everyday to deal with in their life. But I'm my experience they will make sure that you are happy with the end result which is what is happening here and I couldn't be more pleased.
The previous customs that I have had have all been great and exactly what I was looking for.

yes! and in you saying this: when you order a custom from a producer make sure to check their credentials ON HERE. make sure that they are honest....and also? it makes it a thousand times easier on us to screen shot, save or print when you give us the first and only "script" in one email....im not saying i wont chat back and forth with someone....within reason of course, just bc of time restrictions BUT make sure your script is maybe an attachment and you dont ask for anything else after....
we go to that one part of your script after maybe a few weeks of gathering supplies, models, shooting days etc and then if you have added things throughout, they wont happen :/ most likely. we will TRY really hard but some things get lost in tons of emails.
there are some great producers around here as long as mm has put his stamp on them

By the way, from the point of view of a customer, it's a positive to me if the producer asks for it this way. Like if I got a producer saying to me "Hey, please put your script in a word document, and we will quote and work off only the master" I would be pleased because it shows that the producer is taking charge of the communication and doing their best to ensure a good result.
One big frustration for me is i spend hours creating a PowerPoint of what I want and I send it off and get a "yes". but I'd much rather they kind of ask questions or summarize back to me what they understand so that I know they get it.
I always send my scripts as a PowerPoint, and after I send a copy of my script with a smiley face next to everything that was right and a frowny face next to everything they got wrong.

I'm intrigued - why PowerPoint? Surely Word is a lot easier for you to type (and for them to print out); PowerPoint is better for a few bullet points being read from a distance. This isn't intended as a criticism, I'm just wondering whether there's an advantage to PowerPoint that I've overlooked, e.g. if it works better on a phone/tablet?

I like power point because it lets my use screenshots and arrows to show what I want, and each slide can hold one idea. My scripts arn't text heavy but more an outline of what I want to happen and how to film.
