"What's Reasonable for a Custom?"

About a year ago I had a very specific custom in mind. The wardrobe alone was about $350, and for her and the other model Celeste it was going to be $550. I asked them to both get geared up and box and wrestle around in shaving cream. This gal didn't just come back with a video of her and Celeste wrestling around on an air mattress in an apartment. She rented a whole-ass boxing ring, waived the production and rental fees because it was the first custom I'd ordered, and she did the entire thing and had the full video to me in less than three weeks. This is not a sponsored review, just putting it out there. Don't leap at the first custom opportunity. Seek out the diamonds in the rough.

customs keep me in business. If people did not get customs? I would not be able to afford to keep my store open and that is a fact!
Yes, I do my own scenes, the most recent release-being one of them...
You have to spend money, to make money. There is no getting around it.
Will I do a cheap custom? Sometimes....if I feel like its just a banger of an idea and that I will for sure be able to sell it.
do I ever give ideas to the customer to make it more sellable so that they can see what they want for a cheaper price? Sure! If they dont want to, though, they dont have to! Alas, I have to go back to the price I quoted in the beginning.
Typically I ask people what their budget is so we dont waste eachothers time- I have had people ask for bj scenes adn I ask them their budget and I have been hit back with "I have 80 dollars" (and they have also asked for a whole new outfit and about 200 dollars worth of supplies)
I think the issue here is that there are a lot of people who have never wammed themselves. They have watched it but never actually gotten messy OR never gotten messy with someone else. To truly know what goes into planning a whole messy session (which is kinda like a custom)
