Hey sorry I didn't post sooner, but it's almost time! I didn't mean to leave yall hanging as I've been buttoning down the servers and everything, but all is good to go so here are some details for next weekend.

We'll have two meet-ups on Fremont St, on Friday and Saturday at the Whiskey Licker around 7pm. Some aren't getting in until really late on Friday, so Saturday will give us more of a chance for everybody to meet and hang.

Saturday and Sunday daytime we've reserved a couple of day beds at the Golden Nugget shark pool. The pool itself opens at 9 and the beds / lounge area opens at 10. Entry is free for guests, but anyone not staying at the Golden Nugget will have to meet me at the pool entryway at 10am for a wristband. Please inbox me if you plan to come!

Sunday night we are Ubering to the strip and trying to find some trouble for Cinco de Mayo. We'll meet on Fremont St. to pregame and then go do the damn thing. Hopefully nobody attracts security this time

So that's the bones of what's going on, but in terms of WAM I'm hearing of sessions and fun stuff being planned... Messmistress and I have our own plans as well For me this is just a chill (working) vacation with my wam friends, but perhaps it won't stay so "chill" after this year!

[Previous Thread] It's less than a month until we head on back to Vegas for another UMD vacation! This one will likely be a bit more chill than the last one, but I'm still hearing about shoots and things popping off here and there. Messmistress and I will be getting there on May the 2nd and staying until the 6th, and are staying at the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street. Anyone coming can book their own travel and lodging, but more info is up on the event page.

On Friday the 3rd all day, we'll be at the Handle Bar again, probably drinking something purple. Come meet and greet and get the party started with us!

On Saturday May 4 and 5, I did get day beds at the Golden Nugget pool, over the shark tank. If anyone at all wants to come and join, please let me know so I can get you a wristband.

On Saturday night I'm trying to get the hookup to check out Calvin Harris at Omnia. Last year it was crazy with DM1 and Friday and the rest of us jumping up and down all night LOL

Just a heads up for peeps that are there to scope out the weather and maybe give us a report on lake mead. I know Ariel and Jewel would probably want to take the time to go out there if the mud is good.

It's sort of silly, but I would love to have gotten a cupcake from an ATM and tucked it down Maria's top last year.

In a wild coincidence of timing I will be in Las Vegas on those exact dates but very unlikely to be available. I'll be out on the strip with my wonderful wife of 30 years celebrating a delayed anniversary trip. We may visit Freemont Street on Saturday night but I'll be there in the guise of my "normal" self. Should you see a middle-aged guy who looks like he was once skinny hanging around trying not to be noticed while checking everyone out, it's probably me. Ya'll have a good time.

Was there any mud in lake mead in the first place?

There certainly used to be a lot of it until just after the last MPV voyage in 2010. Lake levels dropped considerably after that and spoiled the fun. Things are said to have improved recently but Dave's reconnaissance info is no longer up to date. At very least the good stuff is not something you just drive up to but really requires a boat to access. Someone could always just get lucky but it's a big place and without some searching and planning you aren't likely to have much fun. At least that's been my experience.

And that's why I figured that I'd at least mention it since some people may live in the area, and the weather has been wonky.

We were going to leave Monday, but found out that flights back to Philly were so much cheaper on Tuesday that it was less expensive to just book the room for another night! Monday will likely end up being a full day on the strip for me and Messmistress.


Congratulations on 30 years! If you come to Fremont, be sure to come at least shake my hand on the DL We'll be on the strip a couple of times too. If you're on the Groupme chat perhaps we can meet by "accident."

Also, it'll be my pleasure to introduce you to the guy who owns the UMD server in Vegas, one block off of Fremont St.... My best friend growing up. He'll be there, but in the actual hosting facility working most of the time, adding more capacity to the servers!
