So this Saturday 5/14, Messmistress and I will be hanging at Frankford Hall in Fishtown, Philly. We are really excited and can't wait to meet some of the locals who visit UMD. There are really no events planned or anything... we'll just grab a table and chill... and the first round is on me!
A line may start to form at this place in the early evening hours, so I'd advise to be there at 7pm or earlier. If anybody has any questions or suggestions, you can put it up here.
Oh I'm open to anything. Only things I've done so far in Philly are visiting the Liberty Bell, Reading Terminal Market, seeing some sights on one of those kitschy tour buses, and Frankford Hall. I also had a Philly Cheesesteak at one of the two places known for them.

South street is always a fun place to spend time. Theres lots of unique shops and restaurants. Grab a 190 octane at Fat Tuesday
If you feel like doing some real shopping, venture into Rittenhouse Square. Rittenhouse Square is a sweet little mark surrounded by quite a few upscale shops.
You could also check out the Art Museum and run the "Rocky Steps". The Mutter Museum is a fascinating medical marvel museum (Not for the faint of heart!)
As far as history / touristy spots, visit the Independence Hall and the Constitution Center. Theres a cute little beer garden located next to Independence Hall as well! One of my favorite history type spots is Elfreths Alley, Americas first 'neighborhood'. Theres a small museum here if you're interested but I prefer to walk down the small street and take in the cobblestone walkway and the old-fashioned architecture.
Food wise, I recommend grabbing a cheesesteak from Joe's Steak and Soda Shop (near Frankford Hall), or Ishakabibbles (South Street). Also, the Italian Market in South Philly has many bakeries, restaurants, cafes, butchers etc.
corynn and i will be there for sure! does anyone know of a place near there with good bakery cream pies? we may be having a little after-party of our own
Really wanted to make this but I could not get on any flights today out of the mid west. This sucks cause this would have been fun to be back home and to meet up with everyone
Cool guys, we'll be there a tad early, probably hangin in the beer garden area somewhere. Been a long week so we are going out for margaritas first before we go. So excuse me if you see a tipsy MM tonite So ready! If you have my number, you can call or text.

Allen and corynn are running a couple hours behind too. Im on 95 S and it's going at about 30mph.
Zoidberg just got home, shortly after 12:30am. Don't tell me you guys are STILL THERE? Darn: I WOULD have stayed longer, but I thought everybody was leaving! Plus, I was getting cold and sleepy.
All systems seem to be a go here: my vcr and Hauppauge digital tv tuner seem to have recorded tonight's episode of SNL. So, I'll live.
Thank you for an awesome time, MM and MM and PieRogative and the others whose privacy I shall respect!
(I was looking for the "I'm not worthy" emoticon. Couldn't find it.)
Update: AWWW FUCK IT! I set my digital tv tuner incorrectly: I must have set it for 11:30am and it recorded earlier this morning (and I had not checked) instead of for 11:30pm.
Messmaster and I are so thrilled that so many of you could make it. It was wonderful to speak to each and every one of you. Thank you for making the site great! Can't wait to do this again... Let's not wait so long next time
