Immediately after covering the face with cream or mud, whether male or female, it may be some time before the face is wiped off with the hands. I think most people are interested in a face at its best and dirtiest, so I don't think the performer's view needs to be immediate.
I just wish producers would let them wipe it off before the next pie, and give us some good moments before the next one. The "wiped off enough to open the eyes" is my favorite point in the process.
For me personally, I like to see the mess pile up on a person's face. When I get messy I try to leave as much on my face as possible. That said, I understand that a lot of people would prefer to see the person clean off most of the mess so that they can still see the person about to get messy again

I'll be up front, in some vids the script called for a surprise pie after a self pie. In hindsight I've found it can take away from an amazing self pie . I agree with what your saying, I'm a big fan of pies where the model gets a mouthful of pie... Slapstick is an art though, and it's hard to know how every pie is going to hit the model. Just know producers aren't doing it to upset you, I think most producers feel their audience wants to see the model plastered or destroyed with pies.
Wasn't sure which option best answered this so figured I'd comment. I love the mess piling up but I do think for the safety of eyes and breathing there should at least be occasional slight clearing unless you're really, really good at holding your breath or breathing while liquid enters your mouth I am neither so eventually if the shooting session is long enough I have to have at least one eye wipe and one of either my mouth, nose, or both. Short scenes I try to wait until the end of possible. It's also possible to eat your ingredients if you want to do that once you're messy but that doesn't work out with something like shaving cream which tastes horrid
I love receiving pie after pie with very little wiping. The feeling not being able to see and knowing your partner is about to shove more pies in your face and you can't stop them is sexxy, kinky and erotic. Plus my pie partner loves the extra humilation of me not being able to see....and breath.So do I

I love that the girl wipes her eyes and face a little while they make faces of displeasure and surprise trying to recover some dignity between pie and pie.
