Anyone else getting random notifications from users they don't follow or friends with? Possibly part of the site maintenance?

There is a tic box when you friend someone that says follow them so that might be where your notifications are coming from. I realized that's where I was getting some from so. Try that and if they persist shoot Mess Master a message about it.

Thanks for your reply, yeah I've checked all my friends and it's not that. Just seems really random, like people I've never interacted with have commented on a photo or video. Really odd, just wondering if it was just me or something more users are experiencing.

Sounds like its sending you the notification for stuff that you liked or commented on maybe not sure. If it continues send Mess Master a message he hand codes the whole site so it might be an unhandled exception in his code.

I've noticed likes aon some of my stuff from people I don't know, it doesn't seem important to me I guess.

This is one part of umd I try to not pay attention to not on purpose just so many all at once so I tend to look manually more than the tab with them on profile

Cleared history and web data and logged back in, seems to be ok for the last few hours.

I'm working on this... you shouldn't be getting notifications from anyone you don't follow, as we don't have a "FYP" or a real recommendation algo or anything like that (yet). If you happened to join "all stores" then you'll get a hell of a lot of notifications, but I disabled that a few months ago.
