Messy TV Ads - Or how it all started by 1978wam

I remember that kitchen roll ad. Would have been about 1979. There was a follow-up with a lidless blender and some baby food. Always thought it was unfair that the woman never got it. Even though I was about 5.

Thank you Thank you Thank you 1978wam, some of these bring back some very fond memories for me. There were little sparks going off and I didn't know why until I was older

I remember seeing that one for the rug, car mat, or whatever it was. Where the nice girl is standing there in her nice blouse and you got to select a substance to dump over her, which was intended to prove how stain resistant the rug was. I remember thinking about the fun the film crew would have had doing that to her...

"beautiful and expensively styled women losing their best blouses" and the cutting/ripping of blouses - I think we share similar tastes and there's a few caps you posted that I'd love to know more about, ie. what are they, not to mention the beauty in your profile pic. Like the Reckitt Benckiser (Vanish?) one where he's spraying stuff all over that girl's white blouse.
Is there a way to find out what some of these are?

I will have to dig through my collection and see what I can add here.

nice to see that you like this threat. I have a huge collection of spots and I am still adding more whenever I find the time to search youtube and other sources.

For all those interested in my collection, please send me a private message. Services like dropbox or onedrive give us the opportunity to actually exchange material that is not copyright protected.

My collection is structured 'by product' and hence it is quite easy to find specific spots as long as you know the name of the detergent or stain remover. This is true despite the fact that I have more than 15GB of detergent spots...

Last night I made a search for spots promoting the detergent 'Dreft' as I remembered that quite many featured cutting a new dress or blouse in two.
