Just to chime in, from my POV it doesn't matter how attractive someone is, if they hold views I feel are abhorrent I'm not going to want to have anything to do with them, even just as a paid model never mind as a potential partner. Conversely, when you really "click" with someone it doesn't matter what they look like on the outside, it's what's inside that counts.
As to finding a partner to splosh with, they don't actually have to be into it as a fetish, just not hate the idea and be willing to have fun with it. And with the right approach someone who starts out just doing it for fun can eventually find they do find it sexually attractive too. This is why it's important to broach the subject early on in a relationship, it's not so much about finding unicorns as avoiding wam-haters. Suppose your thing is mud-sliding in jeans. Does it really matter if a potential g/f or b/f isn't actually turned on by it as long as they are game for doing it on a semi-regular basis, perhaps in exchange for something they really love, be that their own fetish or just something more mundane that they think is a fair trade?
Alternatively nowadays there's the multiple variations on the polyamarous route, where people have multiple partners to meet different needs. As lifespans increase, and growing equality means everyone expects to be able to control their own lives, the idea that people should have to have all of their life needs met by just one partner starts to look like only one option among several, rather than the be-all and end-all of relationships that it used to be.
