Though the crust you use seems kinda thick. (that isn't a criticism, just an observation).

Crust seemed fine. Thick maybe but given they threw those pies with such force, they didn't obstruct the target post-pie. These seem to work best with the throwing pies and don't quite measure up as well with the smashed hits. Perhaps something to keep in mind.

Overall I would rate them highly. The look at the end with the pie-covered face but her able to function without wiping is hard to get right and this scene did very well in that regard.

Not to start an international incident, but generally speaking I'm unimpressed with British pies, so by those standards these are some of the best UK pies I've seen. Overall, they rate very well too in my book... just not to the level of some of the South American pies, those are the absolute best in my opinion.

These do surpass many American pies, at least from the producers. Too many of them are too encompassing and after a hit or two it's just a creamy blob with a vague hint of a female underneath.

Overall, I'd give them a solid B or B+

We did try really hard to find Graham Crusts here, but, unfortunately, by the time the ones available here arrive, they are already smashed to pieces. I do think we have managed to find a cream that is very similar to Cool Whip though, I think.

We'll be shooting pies on Thursday, weather permitting, should have the first new pie update on ProperMessy very soon.

I love the vid! The pies are excellent, in my view! The cream really explodes with the thrown ones. And the crust was good. I loved it when Leon broke up the crust on your head!

It's fascinating for me to read about thickness of crust, distribution of mess, force of throw, placement, pie composition, reaction etc. This is exactly what I do with gunge/food mess, analyse & 'de-construct' it to see if it 'works' for me, whereas a pie has always been a pie as far as i'm concerned, it's never been so much of a thing to me until recently.

Have to say, I think these look fantastic Lisa! Will certainly be keeping an eye out for your new stuff, & hope those more than a few more pies reserved for you - you take them (& wear them) so well!

Lisa, you can't spell "guinea pig" without pieing.

The first hit was amazing; I think you need less crust next time.

Works for me. Although I sometimes wince at the force of Moominpies. Perhaps a careful smush (especially a sandwich smush) might be slightly kinder to the noses?

Your preliminary findings are quite acceptable the crust brakes apart well enough and the cream is nice and sloppy and makes the right amount of mess, also according to your assistant they taste great.

However might I suggest you re-do this test to make sure you can repeat these results time and time again also adding to the next test you should implement different colors and or different fillings e.g custard, I'm sure your assistant will love to come back for more or maybe Miss Messy Jessie would like to fill in as your guinea pig? :devil::devil::devil:

Perhaps someone more gentler should be involved in the pie throwing and maybe on the receiving end as well to get a proper assessment of the tests with pies?

The pies get my seal of approval Nice & thick, using crusts aswell, just make sure you get some nice other fillings such as custard, chocolate and strawberry pies too would be excellent.

Had to laugh at your reaction though and seeing your feet fly into the camera shot when you were recoiling Would blatently be pieing your feet too

Those are some pretty excellent pies! And it's good to hear that you guys are shooting new pie videos (and soon too!)

Now, I think having a lot of chocolate or toffee sauce on the bottom and a little cream on top would be really really awesome...but that's just me being picky. These are great as-is.

Pies were great but holy fuck Lisa is as smoking hot as ever!
