Since it's 12 days until Christmas, I'm starting my very own 12 days of giving and every day I'm going to add another charity to donate to and if you do, and show proof (either a photo or screen cap of your donation) that you have donated, you can choose a Jilly video from "House of Mess" and I'll send it to you for free! The MINIMUM DONATION is $1 less than what the actual video costs. For example:

Jilly video you want: $5
minimum donation: $4

Jilly video you want: $7
minimum donation: $6

and so on...

HOWEVER, if you're feeling exceptionally generous, you can donate any amount you'd like above that and get a free video. Plus, this is a nice way to get something free for donating if you already do every year!

So what is TODAY'S charity? These are just suggestions if you can't decide on which charity to donate to (I will also accept proof of donating toys to Salvation Army, Goodwill, churches, hospitals, etc.)

Here are a few animal sanctuaries/organizations that need your help!

Safe Haven Animal Rescue: This is a non-profit, no-kill shelter that specializes in small animals (such as ferrets!) that, more often than not, are rejected and/or euthanized because most humane societies are underfunded and have no idea how to take care of small animals.

Best Friends Animal Society: This organization focuses on donations rather than guilt, flashy ad campaigns, or celebrity endorsements. The minimum donation is $25, but if you're feeling REALLY charitable, you can receive a video with Adam & me from WAMFuckers

Greyhound Adoption League of Texas: The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas is one of the top-rated not-for-profit animal organizations that takes in rejected or retired racing greyhounds and does everything from rehabilitation to finding them "forever homes." They sustain their entire organization solely on donations. It takes around $350,000 a year to maintain their status quo, so your donation can make a difference!

Every day I'll have another few suggested charities Even if you have zero interest in getting a video from me, donating feels good. I'm broke as a joke but every year I try to donate to at least a couple different places because there's always going to be someone out there doing way, WAY worse. Your $5 could change a life! ^_^

Love 146: Love 146 is an organization dedicated to ending child trafficking and exploitation across the globe. They are an international organization that provides care/therapy for survivors, education for prevention, and awareness for child trafficking and exploitation.

To Write Love on Her Arms: TWLOHA is a non-profit organization designed to provide mental health education, suicide prevention, and end the stigma attached to mental health care. They partner with local mental health care facilities across the Earth (though based in the U.S., they are expanding their efforts) This non-profit is important to me because I have many family members who suffer mental health issues and the mental health care in my state is a JOKE. TWLOHA is one of many not-for-profits attempting to change that.

Boys and Girls Club of America: Boys and Girls Club of America provides after school programs, mentoring, and a source of hope for underprivileged children across the U.S. With all the services they provide (arts programs, sports programs, education & life skills programs, especially to areas that are underfunded and would otherwise not have these programs) they need your support.

All of these programs are tax-deductible! So if you think "Hey! Jilly sucks! I don't want one of her videos!" (hey, there's gotta be at least a couple of you out there...) you can still claim this on your taxes ^_^

Alrighty! More donation suggestions I really hope you guys participate. There are so many organizations that need our support just to stay afloat! x One of these in particular, once I get paid this week, is one I'm going to make for certain I donate to.

Pink Ink: Breast Cancer Reconstruction Tattoos: Pink Ink is a non-profit organization that is mostly known for connecting mastectomy patients (due to breast cancer or prophylactic mastectomy due to breast cancer gene) with tattoo artists to create beautiful works of art where their breast or breasts once were. The money goes to temporary financial aid for the tattoos ("temporary" means it pays for the tattoo, not if it needs to be filled later on due to fading years later) counseling, and education. The organization connects them to the best of the best in tattoo artistry so the recipient can get a beautiful piece of artwork, or she can receive ultra-realistic nipple tattoos after her reconstructive surgery. It's pretty amazing! Feel free to browse the site to see more photos, but I'm not going to post any on UMD. If anyone knows someone who has had to endure a unilateral or bilateral mastectomy, you know just how traumatic it can be for the woman.

but it's not all just about women...

HIS Breast Cancer Foundation: Though statistics show that only 1% of breast cancer patients are male, the actual numbers may be much higher due to lack of education, awareness, and diagnoses. Yes, men can get breast cancer too! This non-profit organization is designed to bring awareness to the cause, educate men on their risk factors and how to detect male breast cancer, and provide counseling to families and sufferers alike. Since the idea of male breast cancer is still in its infancy, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. That's where our donations come in! I had a friend whose father had breast cancer and thankfully he had a very proactive physician, but not all men have the same luck. Also, many health insurances do NOT cover treatments for MALE breast cancer, so men who suffer may lose their entire life savings trying to fight it.

Beads of Courage: This is a charity organization I heard about when my best friend's little sister-in-law was diagnosed with a brain tumor and subsequent rhabdomyosarcoma when she was just FIFTEEN YEARS OLD. She told me all about them when we'd talk on Facebook. She was treated at Children's in Philly and she had her beads to keep her mind occupied, being stuck in there bored all day. They provide "arts in medicine" for children and teens alike spending a good length of time in the hospital for serious illness. The "beads" they provide let the children sort of "document" their hospital stay (a few beads for a procedure, a single bead for every day they're in there, a symbolic bead for the day they went into remission, etc.) They send beads and crafting materials to hospitals all across the country, so they need your support to keep up the costs

Tomorrow I'm going to put up information on how to donate to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia because they saved her life and she's an awesome girl. She's about to go to college next year and she's been doing GREAT. She fought a really tough fight, but she's always been a tough cookie.

Today's charities are all about FERRET LOVE! I know that sounds silly, but I love love love la-la-LOVE ferrets. I used to have 2. In fact, here's a picture of me at 19 with Kemic (my then-boyfriend, you probably recognize him) and our two "babies": Bailey (in the bow) and Reno (in the Santa hat)

A lot of people receive ferrets as Christmas or other holiday gifts and, just like pretty much ANY animal, an animal is NOT a suitable unexpected gift. They require a lot of care and attention that people are not prepared for, so they end up in places like these. Please give any amount that you can whether it's a one-time donation or a monthly gift! Angel Ferrets Shelter: This is a ferrets-only shelter that takes in special needs ferrets as well as abandoned ferrets and either finds them a forever home or houses them permanently. Their annual costs are around $10,000-14,000 and right now they have only reached around $1,400 Please donate any amount you can!

Washington Ferret Shelter: Another not-for-profit, ferrets-only shelter in dire need of your help. They also have an option for you to mail in much-needed supplies such as washing liquid, fleece blankets (ferrets LOVE fleece blankets) new or gently-used bedding (even human bedding like pillows, pillow cases, etc.) paper towels, bleach, etc. If I have a recommendation it would be new SOCKS. Ferrets go mental over socks

Washington Ferret Shelter mentions the cost of a ferret with adrenal disease (a disease many ferrets get because they are so rapidly bred in the U.S. that there is no way to maintain genetic testing standards) and it can cost, easily, $350/yr for ONE ferret with the disease. Many ferret owners get rid of their ferret when one gets the disease because they can't afford the treatments OR they don't have any local vets equipped to treat the disease. Bailey had adrenal disease and we, thankfully, managed to treat it so she was not only pain-free, it was as if she didn't have it at all! We had to give her melatonin 2 times a day and feed her high-calorie foods for the remainder of her days with us.

Ann's Ferret Shelter & Adoption: Another non-profit, non privately-funded organization dedicated to housing/treating abandoned and special needs ferrets until they can find a "forever home." They have an option to "sponsor" a ferret they're housing. One little guy in particular has insulinoma (similar to human diabetes) and just $5.00 a month can cover his prednisone (btw, this brings me to another reason to donate to these places: ferret food is EXPENSIVE. If they don't get the right food w/ high protein and super-low carbs, they can develop insulinoma.)

Today's charity! Sorry if I missed yesterday. I spent 7 hours at the doctor's office. Bleh. But let's get started! Yes, I take clean water for granted in wetlook videos, but not everyone has that luxury --even in developing countries! Check out these ways to help ^_^

Charity: Water: The mission, like the name, is simple: get clean drinking water to countries desperately in need. They provide filters, freshwater wells, rainwater catchers, and sand filters as well. Just $30 can provide all of these things to a village in need, so every dollar makes a big difference

LifeStraw: Now this isn't so much a charity as it is a PRODUCT. However, every sale of this product will provide a child with clean drinking water for a YEAR. A YEAR!!! So not only is it an AMAZING gift, you can be happy that your gift is also helping someone else immensely. What is it? It's a "straw"-like device that filters out 99.999% of disease-causing microbes so, essentially, any water-bearing source is safe to drink from. That means river water, toilet water, sewer water (if you are so inclined ) even sea water. This is the perfect gift for someone you know who likes to hike, go camping, etc. It could save a life --two lives, even!

Sorry for missing yesterday, 'twas filming! ^_^ Maybe I'll just keep a-goin'. Today's charities are going to include a couple of Jewish charities since Hanukkah began on the 16th and one of the days is set aside, a mitzvah for many families, to give BACK instead of receiving gifts. One charity is one I mentioned a few replies ago. You can choose whichever!

CHOP: Children's Hospital of Philadelphia: Forget the liberty bell or the... uh... cream cheese? (I know there's more to Philadelphia lol) Philly is home to one of the top children's hospitals in the U.S. I know this because my best friend's sister-in-law had to basically live there for months at a time during her rhabdomyosarcoma & brain tumor surgery/treatment. They were incredible, and if it weren't for them then she probably wouldn't be heading off to college next year. That particular friend of mine played video games live on "Twitch.com" to raise money for "CHOP" so I'm going to do my part and ask you guys to donate if you'd like Keep the research & treatments available for many, many more years to come! x

IFCJ: aka "International Federation of Christians & Jews." This is a charity organization designed to not only to eliminate discord between Christians & Jews across the globe, it also helps bring needy Jews out of poverty and/or impoverished/antisemitic areas. It also provides needy Christians and Jews across the globe with the necessities to celebrate certain holidays (such as candles, food, oil, sacramental items, etc.) Tolerance and charity

Ezras Yisroel: Another organization for needy Jews across the globe. Outside of developed countries, things like matzo, Kosher wine, and oil are very expensive, so needy Jews are unable to celebrate their holidays with Seders or even afford candles to light during Hanukkah. This charity provides needy Jewish families or individuals with these items and more. (There is also a PayPal option at the bottom of the page)

Oh, I didn't know there was a local ferret shelter, I just sent them a few bucks. (I don't have any or anything, the cats are energetic enough as it is. ) Problem is I don't have a specific video in mind, can I table a request until next year?

I'm so happy with the response I've been getting so far Just so everyone knows, it's first-come, first-serve, so it'll likely take a couple of days for everyone to get their free video But hey, that'll be a heck of a Christmas present, huh?

St. Jude's Children's Hospital: If you live in the U.S., odds are you already know about this very famous hospital started by Danny Thomas, a Lebanese-American actor/comedian from the days of black and white TV. St. Jude is world-renowned for research, medical care, and support for children suffering from illnesses like cancer, leukemia, etc. They have been responsible for some of the most important advancements in treating these diseases as well. Their generosity goes beyond just treating children & their families with exceptional care, they never turn away a single family because of their inability to pay. Because of this, your donation is extremely important to keep their doors open to children of the U.S. and beyond. The hospital even provides temporary housing for families who have had to relocate so their children can obtain treatment. This is one of the most trustworthy non-profit organizations you can donate to, and it's completely tax-deductible.

Career Gear: This non-profit organization takes either monetary donations or donations of new or gently-used "business attire" for underprivileged people. Though overall unemployment rates are going down, there's still a large number of people unaccounted for in a new category --people who have just given up looking. Sadly there are still people who can't get jobs just because they can't afford the proper attire for an interview. You can't even get a job at McDonald's if you don't have the right clothes! Can't afford nice clothes without a job, can't get a job without nice clothes; it's a vicious cycle. So your donation goes to one of a very few programs designed to give business attire to people who otherwise would have no opportunity to have it. You're helping them, you're helping the economy, that means it all comes full circle back to you one day

Share Our Strength: Another very well-known non-profit organization. "SOS" was created as another step to end childhood hunger in America. It's not just a third-world problem: 1 out of 5 children in America gets little to no food every single day. That's 16 million kids going to bed hungry, getting sick more often, missing school more often, unable to concentrate nearly as much, all because of empty stomachs. The school lunch program can only provide as much as 2 meals a day, and that's when school is in session, so your donation helps provide food to children who would otherwise go hungry.
