YouTube has banned both my main channel page and my backup channel page. I never put nudity on there. This was my main source of traffic to my Patreon, and makes up a significant portion of my income. I am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?
As an Adult producer there are some services you never touch with anything even slightly sexual that includes PayPal and YouTube, in fact anything google runs. There is a lot of prejudice in this country towards anyone in the adult business.
First of all, genuinely sorry this happened to you. I've abandoned using YouTube as well for this very reason. The line for a ban seems arbitrary though on the whole it's gotten a lot stricter in recent years.
Best I can tell you is to leverage other sites. Twitter/X comes to mind, which perhaps isn't a great alternative since they've been shadowbanning adult content of late. Then there's whatever you can drum up on here.
I too am focused on driving traffic to my own Patreon. I find attracting new business terribly difficult, especially lately. I'm trying to focus more of my effort on encouraging loyalty among my current subscriber base.

You said it--not nearly as much push back for blood and gore.

I'm not sure you know this but I found umd because of you both.
Let me brainstorm some ideals and dm you don't give up
This is very frustrating Trying to understand our niche demographic. Aren't most of your paying patreon also surfing the UMD? I would think a person paying a decent membership $ would have some extended WAM browsing habits that funnels them here as well. There's probably a good portion of those people that enjoys your YouTube trailers and move to your patreon, but also see your post here. Would be curious the % of Patreon that supports you that have never see your presence here.
Theres of course the people that happen to discover they have a WAM fetish by finding your youtube channel, looks like those new wammers will have to be found from other plateforms. X, Insta, tik tok, OF.. Dont give up, your current patreon wont leave because of this
Yes. We had ditched our you2ube channel a few months back and removed all the videos because I just had a bad feeling about something like this happening or attracting the wrong crowd to our content.

You would be shocked at how many patreon users have no idea what UMD is. YouTube is an enormous source of that crowd, and many people tend to leave and then come back. it's somewhat of a revolving door.

YouTube is the utter epitome of selective bias when it comes to enforcing their ToS. It's nothing short of a miracle that I've managed to stay off their radar. For alternatives, there isn't many. Vimeo is probably the larger of the competitors, otherwise it's slim pickings
Nothing to offer but sympathy, I stopped posting trailers to YouTube some years ago as it was apparent that even with PG fully clothed stuff they were starting to get twitchy about it.
My trailers get randomly slapped with an age gate, but it's unclear why, and even then, it can be videos months or years old.
I abhor Twitter.
I use vimeo to power my patreon videos, but their bandwith is limited, and downright restrictive for free accounts. It also has some features youtube lacks on the creator side.
But, be very careful with smaller tube sites, they may be smaller because they cater to/allow content you may not want to be associated with.

Weirdly I had more trouble in the 2000s. Back then my stuff wasn't being buried or classified as adult, so clips would get 50-100K views. Then, literally overnight, all my videos got removed. No recourse or anything. My account didn't get deleted, but it was pretty useless if everything I posted got pulled within days.
Sadly, I tried an experiment where I posted a clip of the cutest girl next door (SS96 Amanda) just talking, fully clothed. No mess, no nothing. Stayed up on YouTube just fine. Then I shared the post on the UMD.... It got flagged and removed within hours. So clearly, someone within our "community" was trying to take me out. And.... They succeeded. Pulled all my free clips and didn't post any of them again for years.
I'd hate to think that someone here on the UMD tried to take you out, but that's my guess. People like to think we're a big happy family on here.... The reality is that folks are petty and jealous and supportive in public while being the exact opposite privately. (Mind you, not ALL.... Just a tiny percentage.... But they do a lot of damage.)
These days, I use YouTube as a hosting site and that's all. I don't promote, I don't monetize, YT flags everything as adult and buries the clips but leaves me alone. Doesn't do much for promoting outside the community but it's better than the alternative.
Twitter, IG and Reddit all seem like pretty awful ways to promote, but maybe that's my age talking. Certainly there's a whole group of "IG producers" who don't engage with the UMD but seem to do okay, although they're not really monetizing their likes in any way.

Twitter is becoming just as bad as YouTube and IG and Reddit is rife with piracy. Also, it appears they want to monetize which Twitter is near impossible if you're posting fetish content and not available on Reddit. Vimeo is probably the best bet as their policies are not near as stringent

Very enlightening response. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it immensely. I would love to catch up with you about it some time; you have so much experience to share.

Not necessarily a bad actor. Google is crawling the entire web and the fact that it detected the same clip on something it 'knows' is a fetish site is enough to give it a reason to flag it. The main motive behind this all is advertisers who don't want their ads shown on 'adult' content. YT has been getting squeezed for ad revenue of late and they are going to jump through whatever hoops they can to keep the advertisers using their platform.
Twitter - better but not really good for videos etc Instagram - better for overall snapshots Twitch or Kick other streaming sites are a gateway to a lot of adult people's content
Be very cautious of Instagram regarding privacy especially if you have a personal Facebook or Instagram account. Unlike many other platforms such as Twitter/X where you can successfully maintain quite separate identities for public, private and business purposes with different logins. Insta is basically Facebook and unless you use a VPN and a burner phone for your fetish work the different IDs will rapidly leak into each other.

First of all? So sorry this happened to youawful I would try Instagram and tick tockbut? Even with those you have to be careful. As long as there isn't any nudity you should be good but? IdkI didn't show any nudity on my tick tock and I had a video that went viral! I was so amped! Then? The damn thing gets shut down and I couldn't even get my videos back! I was so sad Bc I made some videos ON tick tock using the app and it wouldn't let me access them at all. That was a huge mistake on my part.
You can indeed appeal a YT channel or content ban. Problem is: this appeal/review is done 'in-house' by unknown entities using an unknown process ('black box'), and nearly always confirms the original ban.
One thing I do (on YT) is to always click on 'not for kids' and THEN add the age limit restriction (18+). You need to do this from the start.
Now, my stuff is all 'soft fetish' stuff; if you have anything more than that up (like any nudity, or sexual imagery), you will likely get banned (eventually); not everyone is targeted, or flagged, right away; but if you are already on their 'radar' -- or have an enemy troll scouting you -- if will likely happen faster).
You may need to rebuild your channel under a slightly different name (but similar enough so that fans of your work can find you), and just make sure to restrict overt nudity/sexuality, and check those boxes with EVERY video clip uploaded.

Sure, I'd say just email me directly and I'll tell you what I've picked up over the years, FWIW.
yep see this all the time for people banned from youtube and Instagram and other sites It's shocking not ban Instagram stuff I posted but not link to anything not sure!
i was think start youtube site my self host few files for you if helps . but ofter !
I had a YT channel for years and never had anything naughty or any nudity but mine got deleted in a matter of hours. I got a "strike" against me and I guess they looked at my other stuff and gave me the next two strikes the same afternoon. Lost all my videos.
