We have all seen the male montage on YouTube for Master Joke Theater, but I know Charo did the bit. Are there any more female guests who took a pie. The Charo episode was on 3/7/77. Anyone seen this scene? Was it any good? All you internet sleuths see if anyone can dig this up, she looks outstanding in the chair!
I saw it at age 15, so almost any female pied would float my boat. Not Charo's I'm afraid. She placed the pie on her face so gently that when she pulled it off, you could barely tell she had been pied. Sorry.
Didn't Cher get a pie in this bit? You could go to IMDB and look up the show and check out the episodes featuring women guest stars. They include Penny Marshall, Loretta Swit, Annette Funicello, Rita Moreno, and more. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073970/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_cl_sm has a list of guest stars.
There were (maybe) 2 more and they were Gladys Knight and Annette Funicello as the images below state. We go over this about every 6 months here but it seems theyre both pieces of lost media. They probs exist in some Hollyweird vault so fuck knows could happen. As mentioned the Claro pieing is apparently shite but as ya can see Annette properly fuckin nails herself so theres hope yet.

Cher certainly did in her own show (i believe thats her show I wasnt around for the 70s, if i was i'd have joined the Red Brigades instead of a niche interest in pie comedy)

Well I guess the moral of this story is Charo takes a great pie just don't leave it up to her to do, lol.
Sadly, people who were old enough to have been actively watching for this stuff at the time of its original airing (mid 70s) have had this to say: The episode Annette Funnicello guested on never actually aired. It was scheduled to air but then got pre-empted by some other programming (I would guess football?). Then I think the show was cancelled before it had a chance to go into re-runs. But that great picture of her self-pieing in TV Guide, which ran before the Annette episode was scheduled to air, tipped off alert pie fans back in the day, so they were on the lookout for it. Sadly, their vigilance was never rewarded.
That doesn't mean there isn't surviving video of it, but if there is, it's in the vaults of whoever owns that material only. (Whereas anything that actually aired, such as the Charo pieing, has the potential to have been captured in crappy quality by anyone with a VCR.)

Wow, now all this is depressing, lol. I saw that there is a C&T ultimate box set (dvd) available. But it seems by now someone somewhere in the world of Wam would have purchased it. It is a shame.

Cheer up! Its just a matter of time until we get the revised edition with "previously unreleased episodes" designed to pry a few more dollars from diehard C&T fans.

Cue the Captain & Tennille's last big hit, "Do It To Me One More Time (Once Is Never Enough)."

(And yeah, Sleazoid, you're right -- the C&T box set was purchased by someone here and it only contained selected episodes, and not the ones with Charo or Annette. I think this did at least result in wammers getting a better quality copy of the pie fight from the final episode, in which Toni Tennille and both of her sisters get well pied.)
